Xavier continued down the sidewalk, shouts and screams could be heard behind him as both men and women hollered for him to stop. After driving on the sidewalk for a brief amount of time he'd found an opening on the road, quickly jerking his now beaten vehicle in front of several others. Honks and curses immediately followed though it didn't matter to him as he was only focused on getting to green valley and finding a way out of Nevada. With mostly everyone else heading towards California Xavier continued to accelerate, occasionally weaving in and out of traffic to get past slower vehicles. Weeeeooooooeeeee could be heard as several police cars zoomed past in the other lane, clearly more concerned with the violence occurring in the northern strip than a few reckless drivers.

Xavier finally made it to the general area of his desired location as the evening came around, taking a right on North Valle Verde Dr. He continued down the road, slowing down to around 25 mph as he took his time to closely examine the streets for any jump out boys. Taking another right onto Fox Ridge Dr and then another onto Lambeth Court Xavier came to a complete stop. Flicking his lights off and cutting the ignition he reached into his backseat to grab the red gym bag, he removed one of the two large water bottles before taking several large gulps. Dropping the bottle in the passenger seat he exited the vehicle, locking the doors behind him. "Hey mother fucker, this ain't your neighborhood to loot. We already got dibs so I suggest you back off." A burly man from across the cul-de-sac was holding a lead pipe while two other goons with 2x4s stood behind him, they didn't seem to be looking for a fight but they definitely didn't like him being there.

Attempting to avoid the men Xavier started walking towards one of the houses away from the 3 armed men, it looked familiar enough so he loudly knocked on the door. "Are you deaf? I will fucking end you!" Xavier flashed the 3 a quick look just to make sure he wasn't being approached before knocking on the door several more times. "Michael you in there?!" Xavier shouted, his right hand now idly rested around the grip of his Glock 23. Suddenly heavy footsteps could be heard coming across the street, one of the goons letting out a sinister laugh with a clearly violent intent. Xavier quickly removed his handgun from his jeans belt, switching the ambidextrous safety off with his right thumb as he turned to face the men. The firearm was pointing towards the ground as the men came to a complete stop. "Take another step and i'm peeling caps. There's nothing to gain here." The men looked between one another before the burly man who Xavier could only assume was their 'leader' spoke. "You ain't on shit homie. That's a nice glizzy though, it'd look great next to my Sig Sauer. How about you turn it over before WE peel YOUR cap." He and the goons began approaching Xavier once more, now less than 10 feet away from the steps Xavier was standing on.

Raising his gun with the straight thump grip a loud crack rang through the area as Xavier fired a single round towards the burly man. The round impacted him directly in the torso, the round tearing through his spleen right before mushrooming and falling short of exiting his body. The burly man dropped like a sack of potatoes, his body becoming limp as he entered hydro-static shock from the bullet wound. The goons turned to run away, both dropping their 2x4s as they made their way down the street. Xavier turned around before moving to open the door, to his surprise it was unlocked. Stepping inside he was greeted with an empty house, it seemed as though the people that used to live here packed up everything and had already left before the quarantine. The only thing that remained was a futon couch and a broken coffee table.

As the sky continued to darken Xavier took what little time he had left to search the house, only finding a roll of toilet paper and an unused bar of soap in the upstairs bathroom. Exiting the house he stepped over the now deceased man a few feet in front of the steps, now slowly jogging towards his car. Unlocking the car he flicked his Glocks safety back on, sliding it back into his jeans against his belt as he sat down in the drivers seat. He took the time to place the water bottle, soap, and toilet paper into his gym bag, locking the vehicle once more. He'd stay awake for a brief amount of time before slowly dozing off with his head and arms against the dash.

Items acquired this round: Soap and Toilet paper

Items expended this round: A single .40 hollow point

Demarcus stood in the warehouse somewhere in the middle of the Northside of town while Friedman was committing his act of betrayal. The leaders and high ranking members of several gangs were here. "So the plan is to take the Stratosphere, the Palace Station, and the Circus Circus." One of the gang leaders asked.

"Yea buddy" Demarcus confirmed. The two smaller gangs will take the Stratosphere and secure our escape. Well send our boys out in force to the Circus Circus. The objective is to load a few vans with whatever cash you can get a hold of within the first thirty minutes. Each of our gangs should take millions. A lot of us are probably gonna get whacked, but my boys are loyal and they know that if they go down Ima take care of they families."

"I understand your concerns," he continued, "I share these concerns. This country is weak and the cops have been pulling extra duty for weeks. They tired, we not. We strong as ever and now is the time to strike. We can take enough that by the time this sorts itself out, we can be livin large. Now more slangin in the dark dealin with these motherfuckin senseless junkies."

Demarcus kept talking, ain't no more packin a price whenever you leave the house cause you ain't know who might be runnin up trying to jack you for your skrilla, or yo whip, or whatever you got. I'm tellin ya son. I got the plan and we can do the damn thing."

The other gang leaders talked amongst themselves for a few moments. One of his guys came over and whispered in his ear, "ya boy all up on ya baby. Took her to bed." Demarcus turned and gave his guy a deep scowl. He was infuriated, but he also couldn't leave either. He spoke in a quiet growl, raw anger beneath the surface of his words.

"You tell 'em scoop that little disloyal bitch up and work him over till I get back, then I'll deal with that shit." The man stepped away and pulled out a disposable cell phone. He dialed a number as he excused himself from the warehouse. The gang leaders finished their discussion some hours later, finally agreeing to attack the three casinos on the North end of the strip.

"You get that bitch," Demarcus asked infuriated as he approached his stolen 350z.

"Nah boss," his man answered, "bitch ran up out of there before the boys could scoop him." Demarcus pulled out a chrome .357 and put the side of the barrel up to his temple and began to pace back and forth in front of his 350z shouting profanities. After a few minutes he calmed down.

"It don't even matter though. Boy playin at the Palace Station. You let them NSB know, he don't come out except on a stretcher. Five Gs to whichever gangsta put this motherfucker on his back. We out to the hotel. Get bitches." Demarcus and his boys left the warehouse and went to a nearby hotel they frequented. Someone got women to show up and they celebrated before the job the next day.

While Demarcus did partake in the festivities of the previous evening, he always slept alone and his .357 wasn't ever far from him. It wasn't his only weapon though. In the closet was a Spas-12.

The Italian combat shotgun had been illegally modified by the chop shop crew responsible for a significant portion of Demarcus's profits.
A complete suit of police battle armor had been delivered discreetly in the night to his room. The entire hotel had been evacuated by his men of non affiliated guests. This included the technical owner of the establishment. No one had put up much resistance. The rules were known here. In the parking structure was a fully equipped swat truck that had been stolen the night before.

Demarcus stepped out of the room he had chosen on the top floor of the innermost three story building. He had a swat helmet in one hand and his modified Spas 12 in the other. He carried the flashbang and smoke grenades that Swat members carried. His .357 was on the left side of his hip and a .45 acp from the swat truck was in the suits standard holster on the right.

"Send them all in, word is bond." Demarcus said to his right hand, dressed in equivalent gear minus the revolver and opting to carry an M4.

"You confident about this, boss." His right hand asked.

Anyone else would've been promptly and appropriately disciplined, but Demarcus's right hand never questioned him in front of the others and had never failed to speak with respect. Demarcus saw his loyalty and value, and so, afforded him privledges. "This is our time, Adrian," he answered his man, "we won't have to be restricted in our activities any longer. We will make the rules."

OOC: there will be one more post like this in a few hours and then I will start the next round.

The swat truck was speeding down the road with a fleet of all kinds of vehicles behind it. Some have been modified to have additional armor. A few large trucks had grills that looked like miniature battering rams put onto them.

These vehicles were taking the lead in the urban battle formation, followed behind the armored cars. Behind these were a number of small vehicles and other vehicles chosen for their passenger capacity. The non affiliated vehicles were mercilessly forced to the side of the roads by the battering trucks. Some of the armored cars blocked on and off ramps and a number of the passenger vehicles reinforced the barricades they formed. The men inside of the vehicles exited them and fired upon anyone that wasn't a part of their mission. Their job was secure the escape route.

The first target they arrived at was the Stratosphere. The cars belonging to the two smaller gangs broke off and began their assault. A few blocks later the North Side Boys half of the fleet broke off for the Palace Station and Demarcus and his seven hundred men attacked the Circus Circus.

Demarcus waited as the swat truck turned facing the direction it had come before pulling up in front of the Circus Circus parking structure. The gangsters in the back came out shooting as did the gangsters in the other vehicles. People were running, screaming, and dying in every direction.

Demarcus smiled at the sounds of carnage as he pulled the trigger of his shotgun while approaching the doors of the casino. A man in a ball cap, white tee shirt, and jeans had decided to try and run past the fake cops. No one escaped today, and Demarcus made him pay with his life for the wealth and power Demarcus's actions would bring him.

The gang assault on the casinos wasn't the only act of violence happening in the city. Back on the North side of town Demarcus's daughter wasn't feeling well. The virus, strengthened by its time adapting to the human body and unimpeded by the weakened immune system Demarcus's daughter had as a result of her lifestyle. Now she was laying on a couch sweating buckets. Her skin color and lightened several shades and her limited and jerky movements gave the appearance of frailty.

She was unconscious and hardly breathing. The Ambulance had been called but Demarcus's attack would prevent an ambulance from ever reaching his daughter. Instead, she was being attended to the eldest of the African American women in the area. They weren't having much effect on her condition despite their best homeopathic attempts. To be fair, a professional couldn't have saved her either. All the sudden, she stopped moving and stopped breathing. The women began to panic. One initiated CPR. The CPR had no affect on Demarcus's lifeless daughter. After two minutes of attempt, the CPR was stopped.

Three minutes later, Demarcus's dead daughter opened her eyes. There were exclamations of "It's a miracle", and "Praise Jesus," but Jesus was not to be praised for this, nor was it a miracle as the women would soon learn. Demarcus's daughter rose from. The couch and lunged at the nearest woman biting into her stomach through the dress she wore. One large woman tried to restrain her as she came away with a huge chunk of gore between her jaws. Two other women went to try and assist the woman who had just been attacked. The virus had adapted to the human body and would act quickly in its new victims. The woman bitten on the stomach went into shock and began to seize.

Meanwhile, Demarcus's daughters infectious jaws had latched onto the throat of the large woman attempting to restrain her. With a vicious twist of her head, blood sprayed from her new victims next drenching her and the couch and the floor. Now the other women began to flee but it was futile. Slowly Demarcus's daughter followed and her first two victims rose.

They would continue this onslaught against humans unchecked as the cops battled the gangland forces on the strip. Demarcus and his crew as well as the other crews would get away with millions of dollars as several hundred men covered their retreat.

While the gangland forces retreated, the lifeless body of friedman rose. While the majority of the gang members were leaving the Palace Station they were hardly concerned about the dead and dying they'd left in their wake. Cocktail Waitresses, and Showgirls lie broken on the floor, victims of repeated, violent, undesired advances. These victims were obvious targets for Friedman and like on the North side, the virus acted quickly due to their bodies inability to defend itself as a result of the tragic incidents that had befallen them.

So the zombie horde grew and left the casino infecting gang members and cops alike. Every body killed added to their number and this went on through the night. They were engaged by the national Guard, but even this military might was insufficient to quell the uprising of the dead. They men enlisted in service soon found themselves in the service of the undead horde. So it was that on the morning of the second day the horde on the strip had grown to number in the thousands and was beginning to spread in all directions.

Day 2: morning
You awake to silence. There are no people out, television and radios no longer bother to repeat their warnings. They produce only static. No police or military presence is visible. The fear and panic of the remaining humans is almost tangible in the air.
Living Population: 4,988,000 approximately
Dead population: 5,000 approximately
Undead Population: 7,000 approximately.

Nelli's Air Force Base is a large base that mostly houses helicopters. There are a few fighter jets too. The Base has enough housing to sustain a few thousand men, but lately many more then that have come. Just inside the gate, a convoy is getting ready to roll out. They are lead by three assault vehicles with fifty cals mounted on them. Behind these are seven apcs and five transport trucks. The last two of the trucks are the only ones loaded with supplies. The rest of ten are carrying people. Behind these trucks are a squad of M4 tanks. These are followed by another three assault vehicles. The final preparations are nearly completed. The air fills with the repetitive chopping sound of rotary blades coming to life.

You're watching this from a window of the R&D wing which has been haphazardly converted to a suitable lab complete with four quarantine rooms and all the medical tools you could need.

A lieutenant enters the room and says your name. As a civilian he is not required to address you as sir, nor is he required to salute you. You are not required to observe these niceties either. As you look over, he begins to speak. "As you can see, Doctor," we are preparing to dispatch a convoy. Part of their mission is to extract any local Doctors with biological experience. I'm afraid that's all I can tell you at the time, but Command expects you will have the staff you require by the end of the day. Also, we will attempt to collect several of the dead from the strip for you to study."

The Lieutenant turns and begins to leave. You're slightly irritated by his words but glad to finally be getting more Doctors as yourself, and the Base physician are the only ones. The Base physician is competent, but has no experience in biological diseases.

He is also very busy caring for the wounded troops that make it back to the base, of which there were few. You have yet to visit the wounded men and hear what they have to say. You held off doing so out of respect, but you figure it might be a good time to start talking to them.

It had been about 7 years since Molly last visited Las Vegas. The city was notorious for robbing people of their money although now with the outbreak and quarantine, Las Vegas was probably going to rob many people of their lives. Her concentration was broken once her name was called out by a lieutenant who then briefed her on the status of the convoy. "Thank you lieutenant, I urge your men to avoid any unessissry physical contact with anyone suspected of being infected with the Zererix virus." She added as he turned and exited the makeshift lab. The man was callous like most members of the military she had the pleasure of meeting but she was certain that the 'tough guy' personality was a coping mechanism.

Molly pushed her glasses against her forehead as she attempted to massage a minor stress headache out of her temple. She didn't like the idea of working with people she couldn't vet, especially those outside of the CDC. With a heavy sigh she walked over to a closet and donned her medical scrubs and lab coat before exiting the R&D wing and pocketing her pistol, making her way towards the base's infirmary. She was suprised when she was given the authority to carry a sidearm on a military instillation given her civilian status, however, taking into account the virus's regenerative properties and lethality the government thought it best to arm their scientists.

If you'd ever stepped on an ant hill, or prided one with a stick only to watch the ground become a swarm of upset ants, you might be able to imagine the manner in which the soldiers of Nellis AFB were scurrying about. The noise of the chopper blades winding up mad screaming at the top of one's lungs a prerequisite of communication. Even so, the most common word being yelled was, "What?" The frustration was evident in most of the men present on the base.

The infirmary is a small metallic building in the center of the Base. Triage tents have been erected outside of it for minor injuries and even from this distance, it's quite obviously understaffed. A man in a lab jacket emerges from the medical structure and yells at a nurse as you approach.

You're too far away to make out the words, and just as you reach the first line of triage tents, he returns inside the building. As he enters, two soldiers in black bucket hats with the letters MP in white on them come out and position themselves in front of the door.

Molly was forced to cover her ears as she stepped out of the lab and was immediately bombarded with the Screaming sound of jet engines and helicopter blades which would make a rock concert sound more like a public library. Squads of soldiers un-uniformly ran from building to building no doubt trying to make sense of vague orders or reporting for some sort of mission. The tents outside of the infirmary were starting to look more and more like a shanty town as dozens of cots were lined up next to each other as the few nurses scrambled to do their jobs effectively.

As she was about to enter the infirmary she was stonewalled by two members of the military police who stoically blocked her entry into the building. "My name is Dr. Molly Jenner from the CDC, I need to go in there." She yelled, digging around underneath her scrubs in order to pull out the ID card she was issued when she landed at Nellis and her CDC badge.

The A Team wasted no time in the next early hours of the morning, Steve Eugune and Hudson knew that this McDonalds was no fortress. They rounded up their supplies and gear before moving out. Eugune seemed to be least of the three to be trilled, his hand gripped tightly around his Mossberg as he was last to leave before speaking out "What's your plan then?" Steve shrugged, Hudson looked dumb-founded as they stepped into the RV. The Door closed behind him as Steve went to place himself into the Drivers Seat, starting the engine with a few turns of the engine before it lurched forward and pulled out into the street "I don't know, Find help maybe?" Eugune sat down in the passenger seat before grunting "So, what if they DON'T?" "We are Citizens aren't we?" "Yeah, but still this is-" "That's their JOB, Eugune. Calm down everything will be fine." "Steve is right, Look just stay away from the strip and highway. I'd say go for my Truck but..I'd rather not.." Hudson shuddered, he knew what he did leaving that poor soul to die and those things ripping him apart. They trucked down the Road in a attempt to find help. They passed a few already looted stores, crashed cars and even large puddles of blood with oddly no corpses laying in them. It was odd for them all, Hudson took a seat in the back rubbing his face gently.

Up ahead of you a few streets you hear gunfire as a four door black pick up truck turns a corner. Three men in the back are firing automatic rifles at something behind them. Whatever they are shooting at is shooting back. You can tell this as the truck begins to turn away from you and one of the men's chest explodes in a cloud of red and he falls out of the truck to lie face down in the street, a sub machine gun still in his hand.

The truck begins traveling opposite your direction and is followed by another civilian truck. A third truck comes after the first two, but before it can follow the first two, you hear the sound of a heavy machine gun and can do nothing but watch as the third truck is literally shredded in front of you. The bullets hit everywhere on the truck and the metal frame peels back with each shot. The tires pop and drain and the truck lowers closer to the ground. At first, you hear the trucks horn, but soon even that is destroyed by the stream of death that struck the vehicle. There is no question that everyone inside the truck is dead.

@Tray Tor
The MP on the left holds his hand up. "Sorry ma'am, Captain Scurnelli ordered us to allow nobody through unless they were in critical condition. Only way I can let you in is if you go get shot, or you get a signed order from Major Burgundy."

Of course you make arguments to the MP, but he doesn't care. He has his orders, which is his only rebuttal. "Ma'am, Major Burgundy can be located near admin building near the gate. However, it might be easier to get shot then to get him to speak with you. Sorry I can't be of more help."

As you walk away a four door open vehicle drives up to you and stops in front of you. It's the same Lieutenant that spoke to you earlier. "Going somewhere, ma'am?" He asks smoothly. "It's a big base, I could give you a lift."

"What do you mean nobody is allowed inside? I need to speak to anybody that has come in contact with anyone who was infected!" Molly argued and was immediately turned away by the MP. Molly was incredibly irritated at the lack of trust between the United States Army and the CDC but she couldn't blame the man for doing his job. Visibly frustrated she turned around and began to walk towards the administration building to find this 'Major Burgandy' character when she was stopped by the Lieutenant in a jeep. "Yes actually, I need to speak with Major Burgandy can you take me to him?" Molly asked as she climbed into the passenger side of the jeep.

"I can take you anywhere," the Lieutenant replies thinking it was smooth as you climb in and he steps on the gas peddle. The small vehicle is pretty quick but the ride still lasts awhile. The Lieutenant is talking as you ride, "You know when you say scientist I picture a fat greasy nerdball in glasses that hasn't discovered running water and has the social skills of a termite. I was so pleasantly surprised when you showed up instead."

The Lieutenant pauses for a moment then starts talking again, "Now know with all this craziness going on we haven't had much of an oppurtunity to get to know each other. Trust me when I say I'd really REALLY like to change that. You're a beautiful woman and I'm a good looking guy. We both got jobs that limit our ability to spend time with others in a non professional setting. I know this is a bit sudden, but hey, I really think you need a man that understands your struggles and can relieve your stress. I'm not ashamed to say I think I can be that guy for you. So how about I picking up and take you to nice dinner sometime. I won't even wear a uniform, as long as you leave those atrocious scrubs and lab jacket behind."

The Lieutenant grabs your arm as you pull up in front of the administration building before saying, "so, when can I pick you up?"

"Thank you Lieutenant, that's a very pleasant image..." Molly deadpanned in respond to the man's attempt to flirt with her, tuning him out as she watched the soldiers dart from place to place. Her cheeks turned beet red once she felt the Lieutenant's cold hand grip her tiny wrist. "Umm... Tell you what, once all this craziness dies down I'll think about it but untill then I really need to speak to Major Burgandy." She almost stuttered, pulling her wrist away as she stepped out of the vehicle and walked into the admin building. "Ugh, you're a killer Molly.." She muttered under her breath, rubbing her wrist as she walked up to the front desk.

"That's alright girl," the lieutenant yelled from his vehicle, "I like a woman that's hard to get. I'll be seeing you soon." The Lieutenant pulled away as you open the doors to the admin building. A young man with a private's emblem on his arm stands up as salutes, but as he realizes you're just a civilian he drops the salute but remains standing.

"Uh," he says, wh-what can I do for you ma'am?" Your unexpected presence clearly throws him off. He looks down at the mountain of paperwork on his desk and the incessantly ringing phone before back up at you.

You tell him that you want to speak with Major Burgundy, and he directs you to the staircase, telling you that he's on the second floor. He then tells you that area is restricted and you'll have to find an officer or an MP willing to escort you, or risk being imprisoned or even shot.

The private then tells you, the MP Berracks and Officers Mess are a short walk from the building. They are in opposite directions though. You'll have to decide where to try your luck.

Molly rubbed her temple in order to clear her head before walking up to the private who was clearly swamped in paperwork which caused her to chuckle a little as the flustered private frantically stood up and saluted her. It was refreshing to see someone that didn't poses the 'tough guy' act. Her smile was immediately lost once she found out that she had to bypass even more red tape in order to meet with Major Burgundy. "Thank you sir." She said with a half smile, heading towards the stair case with a new found hatred for the US Army.

As you open the door to the second floor, another secretary is behind a desk. She doesn't react to your entrance or even notice you. No one else is currently in the room. You can hear a gruff and loud voice from behind an office door with the word MAJOR on it. "Well, god damnit Captain that's unacceptable! You quell this rebellion and you do it now! I don't care if they're cracked out and unarmed and refuse to stay down when shot several times. You are a United States infantry officer. Your men are trained US Army troops. You are gonna stop disgracing my corps and deal with this uprising immediately! Do you understand?" A short pause was followed by a ding and the slamming of a land-line. It immediately began to ring again. "I swear I'm going to court martial every stupid son of bitch under my command when we straighten this out!" The angry Major proclaims.

You begin to walk towards the door but hear a voice behind you, "Stop!" The voice is followed by heavy footsteps approaching you. The secretary stands up, confused as you turn around only to be tackled by a large well built black man. The back of your head, shoulders, and upper back slam into the bottom of the door with creaks and groans loudly but does not break. The pain is awful.

Your protests do you absolutely no credit as the big man flips you over onto your stomach forcibly and applies zipties to your wrists so tightly they cut into your skin. He executes a frisk search relieving you of your weapon, and any other objects deemed potentially lethal. He drags you by your arms to your feet and over to several chairs near the secretary's desk. Presumably these chairs are meant for waiting to speak with the Major. "Call the MP, Private Jacobs," the man that tackled you orders, "Tell him we have a civilian for the brig."

The man has two arrows on his arm followed by another arrow the ends in a half circle. He's a Staff Sergeant. He turns to you, "you are hereby accused of unlawfully attempting to enter restricted area of a United States military installation. You are to be remanded into the custody of an MP and taken to a brig where you will be detained until prosecuted. The MP will inform you of your rights under the Army Penal Code. Your personal affects that were confiscated will be transferred into the custody of the MP at a later time. I recommend you remain silent until remanded to the MP as anything you say may be used against you."

The gentle hum on the mustang’s engine was a relaxing reprieve from the chaos Mona had just endured at the comparatively small town of Pahrump. The National Guard had been activated and sent into Las Vegas; several of Mona’s friends had been sent and had told her the situation was extreme. After two days of silence Mona and her friend Joe loaded up and hit the road early in the morning stopping in Pahrump to refuel and stock up on provisions, what they had come across was not was she expected, mass chaos and death everywhere, bodies laying in the street people chasing each other everywhere gunfire boomed all around the town.

Mona and Joe took cover in a small building on the south side of the highway “Stockpile Defense”. Three people had been inside when they entered, they were bunkered in and armed, after determining that they weren't a threat, based on their gear and outfits, they let Mona and Joe in even allowing them to stock up on some additional ammo and the like. Mona heard Joe's voice,"You mind if I take this?" He was holding a Browning BPS with camo wrapping covering the entire thing. Of course it's covered in camo.. What a dweeb. The older man agreed to allow Joe to take it along with several boxes of shells for it.

After settling down a bit and looking out the window,"What's going on here? is this what's happening in Vegas?" Mona's voice was friendly, but serious. The family, composed of a set of parents and their adult son, had very little information to give her. "We have to go, we have friends there." Joe followed her lead and together they burst out the door of the gun shop as the family slammed the doors and barred them.

Mona slid across the hood of the Mustang and climbed into the driver's seat like a trained acrobat. God, I'm good. After Joe and taken his spot in the passenger side with his new firearm the Mustang's wheels spun and the vehicle sped off down the road towards Vegas. Forty-five minutes... I'm coming John... Her boyfriend John had been part of the activated unit sent into Vegas,

Her Old Unit. . Her Boyfriend. . Her Friends. . . Oh God. . . The fear of what could have happened to them shot through her like a electric shock bringing a single tear out of her right eye and down her cheek.

"You ok?"
NO!! "Yea, I'm Fine."
Joe and Mona had been friends since middle school, he knew she was lying. "We'll find him..." Joe finished his sentence just as she began to slow down, They had entered the outskirts of Vegas. The Blue Diamond Road had opened up a bit and there were houses on the sides of the street up ahead.

Hualapai way?
Mona had never driven into Las Vegas from this way. After about five minutes they saw a Walgreen's up ahead. She lit a cigarette, Marlboro Menthol Smooth, and cracked the window. She'd kicked the habit, mostly, but today's situation warranted one.

As you continue down Blue Diamond Road, you can't help but notice the entire highway in the direction you're traveling is empty. The other side, however is packed and has been for miles. While you are free to cruise at whatever speed you wish, the opposite side of the highway doesn't move at all. In fact, people are outside of their vehicles and engaging in all kinds of activities.

This continues to be seen all the way through your drive into the city. The first notice you get that you're close is a large green sign. It says, Dean Martin Drive exit five miles. Off in the distance you can see a large building with the word "Silverton" displayed in big, spaced out, capital, white letters at the top of the building. Though there's nothing to suggest this other then the size and style of the building, you can tell it's a casino.

As you get even closer, you notice signs advertising fast food restaurants such as McDonalds and In and Out Burger, as well as, signs advertising retail chains such as Target and Big Lots. You can even see the Silverton Casino jumbotron sign advertising their slot machines and tables, as well as, upcoming shows and the best buffet in town.

Below you, you can see the surface streets are ridiculously packed in all directions. It's as if the entire citizenry of the city is attempting to travel in this direction.

Oddly there's no visible police presence, and you can hear screaming and the sounds of car wrecks and gunshots, but no sirens. You look around and see people fighting each other, and looting stores. Whatever is going on in the city, it's clearly causing panic while occupying the police so much that they are turning a blind eye to the lawlessness occurring in this part of the city.

"The Silverton! That's the last place he told me he was going, we need to check it out. We have to." Joe looked over to where she was pointing,"Ok if he's not there, where would he be? where did you guys stay last summer?" Joe asked. He always had a backup plan ready.

Thinking for a minute, that trip had been amazing just her and John in Vegas for almost 2 weeks! She still couldn't believe they had both gotten that much time off at the same time to go."The Resort Spa place" Not quite remembering the name, "It's clear on the south side of the city" "Oh and we can check the army post near there too if..." She didn't want to say the words We don't find him so she just omitted them, He knew what she meant though.

She pulled the car off the Blue Diamond Road, toward the Silverton, the parking lot was pretty empty considering this was Vegas, but with whatever was going on there was probably a reason. Dead bodies laid everywhere.. She'd stopped counting them after 11. Thank god, none of them are military. This reassured her somewhat.

They came to a stop outside the front door. "Heh, they're probably not doing Valet right now.." Joe joked. His joke was just barely enough to cause her to smile weakly, He always had a way to make her laugh. That's probably why they were best friends.

They both exited the car at the same time, Joe with his pistols raised and shotgun strung over his shoulder. Meanwhile She had her Rifle up and the extra responsibility of locking the car after getting out. They entered the casino quickly through the front doors Joe clearing the right side of the room Mona the left.

Within almost an instant after she was tackled by the large man Molly could tell that she was concussed. Confusion, a loud ringing in her ears, blurred vision. The signs were all there and the pain was almost unbearable. Molly suffered in silence as she was too concussed to do anything but stare drunkenly into space as she slowly regained her bearings and initially recovered from her brain bashing into the side of her skull as she was hauled off to the waiting area next to the front desk.
