Cappi Tremaine vs Kade Darkstalker

Cappi rolled his neck, leisurely pacing in his dirtied grey sneakers. Drowsily swinging his arms over his grey sweats, he kept warm. He yawned a big bear howl and stretched his arms over-head. His eyes sleepy - white tee the same he slept in, worked out in this morning, and used to wipe the crust from his eyes - Cappi seemed utterly unconcerned with the duel he'd agreed to take part in. Judging by his demeanor, one might not guess he was the one to request it. After all, he'd only done so by indirect suggestion from another. And, rather than hold firm against the grain, he floated along with the current as anyone else would do. Win or lose, he didn't much care. It was, however, about time he showed some improvement lest he draw too much attention to himself as a flunky.

"Hey pall. You're early. Didn't expect you for another ten."
He meant twenty, but didn't much pay attention to time. Cappi approached Kade with an open hand, stylistically twisted over; real informal like. His pleasant yet perfunctory greeting showed no alteration in affectation regarding Kade's race. Growing up between Nar Shaddaa and Jedi outposts had groomed Cappi into a completely unbiased and unprejudiced friend to any species, even ones he hadn't yet met. It's character, not chromosome, that determined the type of person Cappi disliked. However, it also took a miracle for Cappi to really show an interest in you. A miracle ...or a pretty face.

"You ready to do this? A regular couple a' puritanicals, we two."
Blah blah, he thought as he walked away; taking off his tee shirt and tossing it aside to the edge of the large empty hall. Though he did feel a slight flutter of excitement as he sparked the ignition of his lightsaber, yellow beam bursting out as clear as the sun. The acoustics in this grand hall were heavenly. The webbed white walls accented the almond and sugarcane tones in the marble floor. His shoes were sure to squeak and scuff as the fight progressed.

"So like I said in my message. I wanna practice my Djem So and my Shien. I know we're here to spar, but I thought I'd make this interesting. I brought some training remotes. Two on that side. Two on that side. They're set to disregard the person who activates em. But you gotta push the button with your finger, or it won't be able to tell who turned it on. You probably know how it feels to get stung by one. They don't pack much power, but a bolt'll hurt all the same. Alright. Guess that's it. Shall we?"

Kade had come down early, he liked to be early when it came to sparring practice as it showed eagerness. At least in his eyes. He nodded as he listened to his fellow Padawan and turned to a nearby bench and set down his jacket, revealing his large, powerful furry body with the gold colouration almost shining in the light. His thick tail flicked about as he neatly set his gear down. The Kushari sporting thick long pants, footwraps and wrist/hand wraps to boot. He picked up his preferred lightsaber, keeping the smaller one aside for now and turned down the power so it was on the 'training' setting rather than 'slice off your limbs' setting. Effectively being hit with it would bruise severely and be painful but you won't have your arms or legs or other appendages lopped off.

The viridian blade snapped into existance with a loud snap-hiss of the blade reaching its full length. A Massive greatsaber in the hands of an even bigger Kushari and he turns around to face the younger Padawan. Oh was he going to get his butt kicked by this fellow man, getting into his circle of defence would be potentially.. easy. If he wasn't careful. "I hope you don't mind my butt being easy to kick with these things." He said with a grin, twirling the blade around his hands and taking a Ready stance. Holding the blade up and close to his body. "The remotes we can bring in, after we get into the swing of how we both work."

"You kidding? I love that about you," Cappi joked in regards to Kade's forewarning as he too dialed down his lightsaber's output. He hadn't even thought to do that until he saw Kade do it. Wise. Very wise.

"Sounds good, chief. Guess I'll start us off," he smiled.

Cappi flourished his saber once over in his right hand, frivolously, then jogged towards the start of the duel. Cappi arced the blade over like a clock's hand, clockwise from Kade's perspective, from nine to four, then slashed out at Kade diagonally towards his waist.

Kade observed the Padawan flourish his blade and jog over, he ran his hands along the hilt of his Greatsaber. It had been a long time since he had wielded it and the feeling was strange, even as he had to focus the force just a tiny bit to activate it. The beauty of such mechanics of a weapon. As the fellow took a swing from Nine to Four, he brought the massive blade up which was roughly 65 inches in length clashed with the other with a loud crackle as the energy and light was dissipated.

For him the blade could be used with a bit more...finesse than a standard lightsaber as his large hands could grip it easier and put more significant force behind each strike. Reflexively he was quick, though his large size made him slower on the start especially for an individual that was much smaller than he. With a quick twist of his lower hand the Kushari would aim to use their blades clash to strike out with the hilt of his lightsaber to try and off balance his opponent rather than cause any real harm.

Cappi crossed his saber through, not getting locked up with Kade but letting the blades bounce and slide off each other with a relaxed wrist. Moving to the side gave him space to lean back, avoid the hilt of Kade's lightsaber, and slash a horizontal cross of his blade at Kade's saber arm.

 

[Krajin]

Kade grinned as the blade came in to slash at his right arm, he brought his blade up to block the blade. Both bouncing off each other with a static spark. He raised his blade above his head in a Djem'So styled assault. He'd been studying the theory behind the form and decided to mix up his simple Shii Cho with some rather poorly timed movements as he brought the full weight of the saber down towards Cappi. Through this he was to start a series of wild strikes at the Padawan, though any proper practitioner of Djem So would easily pick out his flaws. Off balanced footing, not utilizing the reach of his weapon or the leverage it could of granted. His grip on its own was a bit to tight, like he was strangling the weapon rather than holding it.

]Cappi moved under Kade, intimately close so that Kade's elbow was more likely to hit Cappi than his greatsaber on descent, though he watched to avoid that as well, slashed horizontally at Kade's waist inwards, and spun past Kade - turning back around to face Kade.

 

[Krajin]

He winced as the blade made contact with Kade's belly, it stung and would leave a nasty bruise but thankfully the weapon was not at full strength so he wasn't Darth Mauled. Kade rubbed his gut and grinned a bit as he turned to look at the fellow "Ow. Well timed. What'd I do wrong in that one?" He asked.

"Huh? Uh... Well you're big, so I just, you know, got in there."

Cappi was caught by surprise with the question. He'd stopped thinking just a moment ago and just went with the flow. Now his eyes searched to remember what'd just happened. Apparently compliments on his skill were embarrassing to him, as he didn't like to stand out. Perhaps he wasn't as good at hiding himself as he thought.

"Be less big."

Cappi grinned. Satisfied. He was a little too proud of that advice. As it sucked. But essentially, Kade had made an opening and Cappi used it.

Make yourself less big? A riddle in its own right to him, it wasn't terrible advice at all. Honestly it seemed to be something different, strange and possibly a life saver in this case. Kade thought a moment with the theory stuff he studied of different lightsaber forms and adjusted his hand hold on the large weapon of his. He couldn't make -himself- smaller but he could make his personal space smaller. He twirled the blade around a bit with a flourish and took up a more aggressive stance. The blade hilt was held up closer to his head with the large glowing tip pointed down on a slight angle.

His dominant foot back and he grinned. "Lets try this again shall we?"

"I got somethin' for you."

Cappi pointed a finger to Kade playfully, then skipped into a jog. With one right hand, Cappi swatted his saber down into Kade's, trying to bat it away so that Cappi could position himself behind Kade's leading, non-dominant, leg.

Very soon, Cappi would find an opportunity to bring a remote into play.

Kade watched and prepared himself as Cappi jogged to him and took a swing down at his lightsaber, Kade had prepared himself for the eventuality of such an attempt to get in close and stepped to the right and brought his Blade under Cappi's own and swung for his legs in a sweeping motion.

 

[Lamper]

Cappi hopped into a tuck, traveling over Kade's saber and past Kade's left flank, and adjusted his attack to instead slash Kade's leading wrist holding his saber.

 

[Krajin]

Kade grinned as the human tucked his legs up to avoid the blade and kade, the length of the blade giving Kade some distance between the two of them. Cappi's own blade narrowly grazing Kade's wrists as the large Kushari following through with the swing, stepped up and turned on his heel with his weapon following up with a flourish, coming down from a 10-4 strike towards Cappi. Aiming to catch him on a block and if so, he'd straighten his weapon a bit and thrust it forward to catch Cappi's shoulder with the edge of the blade, a Shiim strike of the Makashi form. Not enough to remove a limb but enough if the blade was at full power, graze the flesh and cause searing pain!

Cappi rotated his lightsaber into his left hand, blocked Kade's first attack with an upright yellow beam, turned away to his right, spun the saber behind his back, landed, bent his torso over and tucked in his chin with his back to Kade, exchanged the saber into his right hand behind his back, winced, finished turning around to his right, faced Kade, and flourished the saber upright before him.

Having angled his shoulder in and having bent over, Cappi had narrowly dodged Kade's Shiim strike. Instead, it barely grazed across his upper back with a thin sting of slight contact. Hence the "wince". In addition, since Cappi had rotated his saber around behind his back, he'd defended his back from the Shiim strike. Cappi's blade had been like a propeller spinning counterclockwise behind him as he rotated his landing. Had Cappi been wearing a shirt, he might not have even felt the Shiim's sting; Kade's saber being on the low setting it's on now.

Cappi skipped out of his landing, stepping back and building some distance between them as he continued slowly flourishing an upwards arcing 'x'. He rolled his shoulder out, biting his teeth with the tinge of pain; stretching the skin mark on his back. Saber back in right hand. Left hand free. He tossed his head subtly to shake the wisps of hair falling into his eyes, sticking to his moist temples. He smiled, heart rate rising. He sighed relief, having narrowly escaped that one. His left palm opened. A remote started jiggling on the floor until it telekinetically flew into that left hand with a clap.

"Uwah. Kinda got me there. Alright. Time for number one. This is how you set 'em. You get one too. Let's see if we can keep this fight going with a little added distraction."

His eyes stayed on Kade as his fingers searched for the protruding button. They found it, pressed in, and locked it in the forward position. And the remote came alive. It jumped out of Cappi's hand and jettisoned back and forth into patrol of the room, recognizing Cappi as green and Kade as red, its target. A few moments of zigzagging and it'd get into action.

"This is gonna hurt," he muttered to himself.

And after giving Kade the time to switch on his remote, Cappi'd rejoin the fight; moving in on Kade. He finger-rolled the saber over into a reversed grip to slash a diagonal cross from right down to left.

 

[Krajin]

Kade walked over to the remote with a grin on his face as he turned it on. He was familiar with these remotes and looked up "Its even more entertaining when you rebuild these to fire bolts capable of killing. Best unsuspecting guard drones you could ever want." He grinned as the drone powered up. Showing Cappi as red and Kade green. He turned and looked to Cappi as he the man started to jog at him. The reversing of the grip allowing the Kushari a plot as he channelled the force into his body, letting the living force flow through him and empower his musculature and the Kushari leapt towards Cappi, as the jedi swung his lightsaber Kade would bring his around to parry it off, using his own incredible strength and physique against the smaller individual, aiming to smash the lightsaber away with raw brutal power and perform a pirouette with the momentum of his swing.

Channelling the force and drawing in Kinetic energy he would as he came around from the turn, left hand pushing out with the force. Aiming to force push Cappi away from him to gain ground and hopefully force the Jedi on the defensive. His expression all the while changing from someone who was into the fight with grit teeth and focus to a certain bliss. Like he was achieving a certain degree of oneness with the fight itself, as if it was starting to become life itself and nothing else mattered.

Granted any basic force sensory would note he was enjoying the training deep down, but the surface there was focus and.. bliss.

Cappi's body, grip, and swing tightened upon seeing Kade leap towards him.

Cappi's strike was beaten away, saber-in-hand pushed aside. Cappi's torso was forced to twist right. So with infused strength of the Force, he kicked his left foot into Kade's butt cheek heel first before Kade could finish pirouetting; attempting to knock Kade off balance.

At which point Remote-C1 circled Kade and fired a bolt at Kade's left shoulder, assuming Kade's back was still to Cappi. It had fired after Cappi's kick.

 

[Krajin]

The Kick didn't do much to the Kushari as he moved, glancing off his backside the Kushari continued with his follow up. The bolt connecting, stinging but that didn't stop him from using the force to push Cappi across the room. He was surprised the sheer force and weight behind his blade connecting with Cappi's didn't jar him further than what had happened. Meanwhile Kade's Remote did the weird floaty thing of zipping about with constantly changing angles. Getting a bead on Cappi.

 

[Lamper]

Cappi flew across the room, heels scraping at the floor until he fell to the ground and onto his back. He rolled to his side, the wind even knocked out of him a little. He coughed with a silly, beat-red grin.

"Ho-ho-ho! Sh*t. I thought I had you," he chuckled.

Cappi managed to stand back up, rubbing his hip. That was gonna bruise. Then he saw Kade's remote sporadically stalk him for an open shot. And it fired. Fortunately, this time, Cappi wasn't previously occupied and managed to intercept the bolt with a slash through the air. These bolts weren't strong enough to deflect, immediately absorbed by lightsabers.

Well, at least he managed that.

Cappi flipped his saber back over into a normal grip and hobbled into a jog, working out the pain in his hip until it was pretty much a non-issue, and returned to Kade. Cappi sought after Kade's blade and slashed from left to right.

Kade grinned a bit and smiled, it was confidence boosting to hear that. He took up a readied stance as Cappi recovered and came after him. He grinned as he readied his blade and took a good swing at the man, using its length against Cappi, Kade quickly switched it off so Cappi's weapon would swing past without that expected connection and quickly reactivated the greatsaber with a loud snap-hiss of a viridian blade reigniting. Kade deftly, with surprising agility for an individual his size redirected the swing down and low, aiming to take Cappi's legs!

The remote that Kade activated zipped about, making that weird hissing sound as it shot up, to the left, then down and then a bit of the right and shot a bolt at Cappi's knee. It was a Jedi like you once...
