Anami sat at the bar. She sipped her drink absent mindedly. The music throbbed like a headache and she wondered what she was doing there.

Aurora used to be a decent club, but now that it was under new management she didn't know why she kept coming back. No one danced anymore, not to these new horrible DJs. The selection of drinks dwindled and became as monotonous as the music. Anami hadn't heard a live band play there in ages either.

She vaguely wondered if she was indeed getting old, like the club and many other patrons around her. A quick glance to the mirror behind the bar was immediately comforting. And she was annoyed she had even looked. Of course she was beautiful. But inside she did feel old.

"This is what sadness is then. Feeling old." She couldn't believe she was talking to herself in public. No one could hear her, but the light wasn't dim enough to hide her moving lips. What did anyone here care?

She turned in her seat to scan the other patrons. Perhaps there was someone of interest somewhere.

OOC: What planet are we on?

This club is not the best out there... Stupid DJs! The drinks are nothing like those in other cantinas. Yeah, I feel the end of this club coming soon...

A Nautolan Rogue sat on a stool at the barcounter. Although he was 45 years old, he still had that young look on his face and that charming typical Nautolan smile. He had a green skin and a pair of eyes that had the color of midnight black. He wore his trademark black leather jacket and his grey shirt underneath. Blue pants and black boots and on his right leg was his holster which contained his trusted Blaster Pistol: the one he always carried with him.

He was not paying attention at the music, not at the drinks, not at anything else. He was just lost in deep thought, thinking about his next move. He had just done a few jobs for some desperate clients and he had earned a high sum of money. It was then when he was taken back to the real world as he could hear a voice next to him. He looked to his right and saw a good looking Sephi female sitting next to him.

"Excuse me, miss. What did you say?" Caleb asked. His voice sounded friendly and there was that charming smile on his face.

ooc:Coruscant, sorry.

Anami blinked, wondering if she should admit that she had been talking to herself. A carefully practiced smile slid across her lips pleasingly. "I was just wondering what the galaxy is coming to." She leaned in toward him a little, "What do you think? Of all this Hutt business I mean."

Her voice was comfortably low. If he could hear her murmuring to herself over the annoying beat of the music, then the conversational tone she was taking should be audible.

OOC: A'ight.

"Well." The Nautolan replied. "To me, being a merc and bounty hunter, it seems like a great opportunity to make a lot of money."

He relaxed as he leaned on his elbows on the bar counter. This Sephi girl sure was pretty and Caleb liked that. After all those years of facing ugly thugs and criminals it was good to look in the grey eyes of a Sephi lady. He smiled. He then looked back at her and opened his mouth to speak:

"What about you?" He then continued to ask her.

Mawld'e stepped out of the 'fresher and made a bee-line to the seats around the bar. He ordered a drink and grinned behind his mask when the mixer gave him an odd look. He turned in his seat and calmly leaned his back on the bar. He took a sweeping glance at the practically emtpy club. The few dancing bodies looked like they were doing it more out of habit that anything else and he scoffed. "Maybe if they got a new DJ?"

When the mixer placed his drink down behind him he picked it up and looked down at it. He smiled. Not poisoned, mixed right, AND it had straws! He sipped on it contently and looked around the patrons at the bar itself. The was the odd Kel Dor, a Zeltron who looked to be the only person even happy about being in the dead club, and a couple at the bar; a Sephi female and a Nautolan male. He chuckled around his straw. There had been odder couples.

Anami found his smile charming and she felt herself relaxing. The alcohol was helping too.

"The Hutts seem like profitable capitalists. As long as there is someone who can afford my Company then it would seem there are still clients to be had. We do try to maintain the highest level of class though." She pouted. "And I have heard that class is something that the Hutts and their associates often lack." Realizing she probably sounded as if she was talking about a glorified brothel, she clarified, "I am a pilot and... companion, of sorts. My associates and I are therefore called The Company."

Her chin rested in her palm and she noticed her reflection in his large, black, Nautolan eyes. She had always found Nautolans attractive, in the most innocent way of course, and she thought she could stare into his eyes for a while longer. Instead, she pulled away and took a sip of her drink, keeping her eyes low and on the contents of her cup.

Mawld'e wasn't nosy. He was curious, yes. He loved learned about new things. Information was bliss.

So when he caught himself slowly sliding closer down the bar towards the couple he rationalized it as him wanting to know if they were talking about something he may not have heard of.

He surely wasn't interested in eavesdropping.

As he asked for another drink he was finally able to get close enough to hear the conversation. The Sephi spoke of a company of pilots and he looked from the side of his mask to see her gazing into the eyes of the Nautolan. He searched his head for the company she referred to -something about pilots and companions, as if that wasn't a safety hazard- and drew a blank.

"A pilot?" Caleb was surprised. He did not think she was a pilot at first sight. "I have worked as a freelance pilot for some clients in the past. A great proffession."

He grabbed his glass and brought it to his lips, after he spoke, and he drank. It was not the best ale, not at all. The owner of this club had to do something quick otherwise it would mean the end of it, if the end hadn't already come.

As he put his glass back on the counter, which was now only half full, he looked back at the Sephi. He let go of the glass and reached his right hand out to her and said: "Name's Caleb Kansi. Ya can call me Caleb."

He did not seem to take notice of the stranger that was coming closer to them, to listen to their conversation.

She smiled and took his hand. "And you may call me Anami."

In her peripheral vision she perceived the movement of someone coming nearer to them. Had the cantina been more crowded she wouldn't have even noticed this. But since it was indeed a cantina, she chose to ignore it, for the moment.

"And where, may I ask, has your piloting taken you?"

He was the perfect distraction to divert her dreary thoughts.

After they shook hands, Caleb clenched his hand around his glass again and drank it dry. He put it back down and then leaned on his right elbow and smiled just before he answered. He actually began to enjoy chatting with her.

"Coruscant, Corellia, Nar Shaddaa, Alderaan and Onderon, and some other places I forgot." He answered with a smile. "What about you?"

"Well, of course Coruscant," Anami waved her hand at the general surroundings, "Corellia, Recopia, Alderaan, and supposedly I was born on Thustra, but I have no memory of the place." She took another slow sip of her drink. "And it is always for business that I travel. Never for pleasure. I think perhaps I need a vacation."

She was allowed vacation time, but she never took it. Her business had always been her pleasure. But maybe she was ready for something more.

"Being free lance, do you have the luxury of vacations? Or are you the type who can't stop working?" She wondered if even now he was working on a mission. Why else would he be here? It didn't seem like he had come to mope about, like most of the patrons here. She was actually embarrassed that she was one of them. Shamefully hoping no one she knew would find her there, she began to swivel in her seat a bit.

Perhaps he had honestly wandered in, not knowing what a disappointment Aurora was.

Caleb laughed shortly. He did not laugh at her, but he laughed because he was in a good mood, and he enjoyed talking to her.

"Nah, I'm not a workaholic. I take things easy, though when I am on a job I work hard to finish it succesfully. As of now, I'm between jobs. I was looking for a new one and decided to enter this place on good luck, and usually my luck doesn't let me down. As of now, it seems like it did." He laughed again. There was absolutely no-one who could offer him a good job in this place and Caleb needed some money. Of course he had some money he earned from his previous job, but he was almost broke.
And because of that, he decided not to order any more drinks

"So, I actually can plan my own vacations." He said. "When I feel like taking on some dangerous, exciting, or maybe a boring job, I search for it and then take the job, depending on how much it pays and how much money I need. When I have enough money and I feel like having a vacation, I do that. It's entirely up to me, and I like that."

OOC: What bar is this supposed to be in? We prefer it if you stick to one of the bar boards, such as the Outlander Club for Coruscant. Anything else would go into the Story board.

ooc: This is the Aurora bar. The rules for the Story section and the Bar section are different, therefore I appropriately placed this thread here. It didn't seem to be a problem a time jump ago.

OOC: And if it is a problem, you can use your admin powers to move this thread to the story section, right Brandon?^^

Either way, please let us finish this thread.:)

(OOC: I'm soo sorry it took me so long to post. My computer was acting really odd)

As Mawld'e listened to the conversation he drew images of the planets they had been to. Of course he'd traveled to them as well and some of them brought more vivid pictures. The 'debate' with the Dug on Nar Shaddaa, for example.

He chuckled around his straw. Maybe he should consider making a trip to one of the more exotic outreaches of the galaxy..... And who better to ask?

He tapped the pilot on his shoulder. "Excuse, me. I don't mean to interrupt but I couldn't help overhearing part of your conversation. I'm now interested in taking a trip to one of the more lesser known planets around the system. Surely you could point me in the right direction?"

As he was being tapped on his shoulder, Caleb turned around and saw a man. This man began to speak and Caleb listened.

"Well, depends. Which planet did you want to go, sir?" His voice sounded friendly, but not too serious yet. He was not sure if this man was just joking or if he was being serious and really wanted to hire him. He looked back to Anami for a split second and then turned back towards the man who had asked him the sudden question. In silence, he awaited the answer.

He tilted his head to the side, lifting his shoulders in a shrug. Knowing the Nautolan could not see the brunt of his expression behind his mask, he leaned in towards the pilot "Something that is not.....commonly known to most. I have a special interest in the things that most do not know."

Sounds like a job... Caleb thought. He turned back to Anami and said: "Excuse me, miss Anami. We will continue our conversation after I have spoken to this man." He smiled to her and then turned back to the strange masked Miraluka.

"Can we talk here?" Caleb asked him.

He nodded his head. "Unless you have another location?"
