"No, it's alright, we can talk here. No, I thought you had a location in mind but you want me to recommend you anything? Uhm, well... I don't know you. I don't know what you like. Do you like... a jungle?" Caleb still did not know if he had to take this guy serious, but if it turned out he could pay Caleb a good sum of money, there would be a chance that he would take the job.

"The setting of the planet does not interest me so much as the inhabitants or it's knowledge." He shook his head slightly. "As long as it's mostly unknown and unpolluted by the core.....and the Hutts."

"I know a planet, in the Outer Rim." Caleb said. "Its name is Nelvaan, a snow planet, poppulated by the Nelvaanians, Skakoans and some Bothans. I have visited the planet once before."

He leaned on his right shoulder onto the bar counter and awaited a response of the man.

Anami waited, politely pretending not to hear their conversation while wondering if she should really be so passive. Her companion training stated that their behavior would qualify as rude but she knew that not many knew of or cared for manners. This same companion training kept her quiet and seemingly listless. Her eyes wandered over the myriad patrons.

There were more people in the bar now. She swiveled in her chair to look at the entrance as more people sauntered in. Yes, sauntered. And they all seemed to be of a brutish nature. Anami saw that Zeltrons, Humans, Trandoshans, Rodians and Falleen were among some of the new arrivals.

It was obvious that some had taken notice of her. She slowly turned her back on them and pulled out a small data pad. Knowing it was a poor attempt at looking preoccupied, she regretted not having anything else to do. Hopefully she would not be approached by them, but she had a sinking feeling that a group of species such as them would only have a few things in mind.

Her eyes wandered over the datapad without seeing while her mostly hidden, pointed ears were alert. If she continued to seem alone, she might have to leave soon. Anami hoped the situation wasn't as serious as it seemed.

She glanced anxiously at Caleb's back before deciding there was probably nothing to worry about. She took up her cup and finished the contents.

Mawld'e thought about the possibilities of visiting the planet laid before him as well as thinking of the risk. None of the mentioned races were particularly hostile but they were decently unresearched. His curiosity had the chance to be fed properly for the first time in cycles. He could not place the planet though.

"Sounds like a excellent place....How far along the rim is it?" As he spoke he noticed the new group filling into the cantina. He wasn't sure why they had all come in together but with a diverse group, he couldn't figure them up to any good. His hands slowly folded into to his robes as if he was naturally relaxing against the bar.

OOC: @Vint: Only just noticed your profile link thingy links to a profile in the Alsakan Crisis Archives. Please note that we've done a timejump 20 years ahead, so everyone's 20 years older. I'd suggest you put up a new and updated profile of your character in the role-play profiles section, as your current profile has been archived. Just so you know, if you didn't already;)

IC:

Caleb noticed the group too. He wondered for a moment what they came doing in here, but they did not seem like the most friendly types that came here. He thought about his blaster pistol for a few seconds and then listened to the stranger he was talking with in front of him.

"Somewhere on the edge of the Outer Rim in the Nelvaan system, aka. Koobi system." The Nautolan mercenary answered.

"Excuse me." Caleb said and he turned back to Anami, if only because she was his original companion in the bar, and this Miraluka had basically just intervened. He looked at her and he could tell by the looks of her that she did not feel comfortable at all. "You ok?" He asked. "Ye might wanna leave. Mind if I tag along?"

ooc: If the plot leaves the bar, then the thread here is finished. The story can be continued in the Story section, however in a new thread, at any time.

Anami blinked. Then she smiled up at him. "Well, I don't want to keep you from a possible business arrangement. And I don't have anywhere to go really-" But then she hopped up from her seat. "Except maybe the refresher." She had been drinking after all. "Excuse me, please."

The petite Sephi quickly made her way toward the female refresher at the far side of the bar, opposite the entrance. She did not notice the eyes of the new arrivals that followed her nor the heads that turned to get a better view.

The new arrivals were all drinking now. Most were drinking quite heavily. And the louder ones could sometimes be heard, if being listened to, saying things like, "She's even graceful when running to the can-" "She's a pretty little thing-" "-would make a fine addition to the collection." "But we're not here on business-" "-well, this place certainly isn't a pleasure." "Pleasure is our business-" And there was rancorous laughter from the entire group.

Even the bar tender was wringing his hands nervously. The old near-human muttered to himself, "As long as they pay for they drinks... as long as they pay for they drinks... as long as they pay for they drinks and don break anythin'."

((OoC: completely understandable))

Mawld'e made several assessments at once. The first was that the girl would undoubtedly be in trouble as she got up from the relative safety of her companion. The second was that the heads of the group were following her in a distinctly unsettling fashion. He touched the inside of his wrist to send a message to his astromech, Z9. It would leave it's post outside of the cantina to alert the local authorities. Finally, he came to the conclusion that it would almost certainly come to weapons before the proper authorities responded. His hands fingered the blasters hidden beneath his robes and he prepared to step forward and intervene should it become necessary.

Caleb noticed the Miraluka man reaching with his hands into his pockets and then looked over to the group of men. He placed his hand on his own blaster, in a non-suspicious way. It was like he just wanted to touch his blaster for some reason, but it did not seem like he wanted to pull out his blaster to start a gunfight.

"If ye will excuse me, sir, I'm gonna check up on her. Don't think we should let those blokes over there think she's alone. You may join me." He said it on a volume so only the Miraluka was able to hear him.

The Nautolan nodded respectfully to the one he had been talking with and just before he stood up he said aloud: "We will resume our conversation later on, sir."

Caleb stood up, removed his hand from his blaster, and walked over to Anami and stopped behind her. "Hey, Anami." He said as he placed his right hand on her left shoulder. He brought his head closer to hers and whispered: "Those men are watching ya. Don't look immediately, but they are watching ya. Don't want anything ugly happening to ye, so I think I'll just stay near, unless ye don't want me around. Then I'll just leave."

He removed his hand from her shoulder and waited for a reply.

"Well, I am only going to be a moment." It didn't surprise Anami that she was being watched, it had happened before. But this mixed group seemed to have barbaric intentions.

"And I really do have to go," she said with a pout. At the moment, she really didn't know what else could be done about the situation. Perhaps a sober pill would help clear her mind. "I'll be right back." She turned away from him and went into the woman's refresher, replacing the datapad for a small box of sober pills in her shirt. After popping the pill into her mouth and swallowing, she finally got to relieve herself behind one of the many privacy screens.

As Anami waited for other women to finish checking themselves out in the mirror, so she could wash her hands in the sinks they were blocking, a Falleen woman came in. Had she been with the new arrivals in the bar?

"Hi." She said, flashing Anami a dazzling smile of white teeth behind rich, dark green lips. Facing the mirror, the Falleen then proceeded to fix the sage hair that was tied high up on top of her head. Anami found herself watching the Falleen in the mirror.

The whole refresher, even though it was crowded with chatty women, began to quiet. The atmosphere began to change, becoming heavy and thick. This oddity alerted Anami to the many staring eyes of the now silent women. For a moment, Anami thought they were all staring at herself, but then she realized, it was the Falleen woman next to her.

Anami was trying to remember what she had been doing. Her mind seemed to slow down as it struggled against strange, new thoughts that involuntarily popped into her head. Her face became pink with embarrassment.

The unattended running water of a sink reminded her that she was supposed to be washing her hands. As she pushed past other women, getting slightly farther away from the Falleen, Anami realized everyone else was completely still.

The Falleen, however, seemed not to notice and continued to check herself out in the mirror. She was straightening her tight, impractical garments that barely covered anything. Anami blinked, tearing her eyes away from the green body she hadn't realized she was staring at in the mirror.

Anami focused on the cold water. Pheromones. That was it, wasn't it? Falleen were considered one of the most beautiful races in the galaxy and could be incredibly irresistible when they wanted.

Then someone was tapping her on the shoulder. Anami's eyes snapped up to the reflection of the Falleen's green eyes behind her. "Are you finished yet?"

"Me?" Anami sounded so stupid, even to herself.

The Falleen smiled, "Yes. You."

Anami nodded meekly and stepped away from the sink. The Falleen, however advanced on Anami slowly. "Why don't you come with me? We could have so much fun together."

The other women who stood watching looked on enviously but kept silent.

"Why?" Anami's mind was foggy.

"I told you, silly. Don't you think we should get to know each other?"

It sounded unbelievably tempting.

"No, I mean, why are you seducing me?"

The Falleen's eyebrows rose at Anami's continued resistance but she answered the question anyway, "Isn't it obvious?" The Falleen held her hand out to Anami, "I want you."

And for some strange reason, Anami took her soft, scaled hand. It was cool and comforting. And Anami was gone, drifting somewhere in orbit around some gas giant.

The Falleen led Anami out of the women's refresher by her hand, to the disappointment of many left standing around the sinks. The Falleen and Anami walked hand in hand toward the exit.

Caleb was very surprised when he saw Anami and the Falleen woman coming out of the refresher and they were walking to the exit. The Nautolan mercenary did not trust this. He did not trust this at all.

"Anami?" He said as she walked by, but it seemed like she did not hear him. If this was the fact or not, he did not know.

He walked after her and stopped her by placing his right hand on her right shoulder and said: "Where're ye going, Anami?"

Caleb was very concerned, and he only hoped nothing would happen to her. He did not know her well, but he liked her and he did not want anything bad to happen to people he liked.

During the time that the female was in the refresher it was close to talking to a permacrete wall as Mawld'e tried to learn more about the planet. After several tries he simply decided to wait until the female came out of the room. He noticed that the group of thugs watching her made absolutely no move at all and he relaxed his hands.

When the Sephi left the fresher, Mawld'e was shocked to see her attached to the hand of a Falleen female. Watching her brush off the Nautolan, he stepped up to him. "I guess I was wrong in assuming that you and the Sephi are a couple?"

"We just met." Caleb said. He had no time for jokes and his voice sounded serious and even a little frustrated. "Would be grand if she and I were a couple if only because she's damn pretty. Anyway, I guess that blasted Falleen has used her damn Pheromones to seduce her. I can't let this happen! God knows what the hell that blasted Falleen's up to!"

His voice was loud enough for Anami, the Miraluka and the Falleen to hear. He even wanted the Falleen to hear him because he wanted this to stop.

A rage quickly flared up inside Anami but was quickly quenched and she couldn't understand what was wrong with her. The many conflicting hormones clouded her head and his talk of pheromones made no sense. "I'm sorry Caleb. I-"

"Anami," the Falleen said melodically, "please tell your friend you're fine and that you want to come with me." The woman seemed wholly unperturbed by Anami's inward struggle, the Nautolan with the blaster, and the stranger with the mask.

Anami decided she liked it when the Falleen used her name so when she felt the Falleen squeeze her hand gently Anami smiled, "Caleb, I want to go with her." Anami smiled, dazed. Then a thought occured to Anami, "Can't he come too?" She was so hopeful, as if this solution would make everyone happy.

The Falleen rolled her eyes. "No. Now let's stop wasting time." Anami was tugged along toward the exit once more.

((OoC: Sorry, I just want to point out something that's been itching me.... D.C., I'm not sure it's just you or Caleb thinking but Mawld'e's race is indeterminable. I only say this because I worry about not making it clear that he's erased himself from almost all archives and his mask makes him implacable)).

Mawld'e looked at the leaving pair and gives a cursory sniff behind their trail. Of course he didn't smell anything, not that he really would have. He knew the Falleen pheromones had no real scent, just the effect. And even the effect wasn't noticeable if you didn't know the person. "She seems to trust her. How can you be sure she isn't just a good friend?"

He stepped towards the two females and folded his arms behind him. "Excuse me, but Amani, who's your friend? I know we don't know each other but I have to say it looks rather rude that you don't introduce her to your friend, at least."

"Ignore them, let's go." The Falleen pulled Anami away from the men. She followed obediently.

The other patrons in the bar were watching the scene with interest. Especially the brutish new arrivals, who were unusually quiet, listening intently, and with obvious pleasure, as Anami was almost outside.

Anami's grey eyes found Caleb's large black ones and she smiled, dazed. "Bye," she murmured.

"Hell no." Caleb said. These words had sort of become his tagline. Everytime something happened he did not agree with, he spoke the words, and this time he did not want Anami to be taken by a strange Falleen female.

The young Nautolan walked after Anami and the Falleen very fast and pulled Anami away from the green woman. He pulled her back into the cantina and turned her around, putting his hands on her shoulders and grabbing her tightly, but without hurting her.

"Hey, Anami..." He said, as he looked straight into her grey eyes. "Listen to me! That bitch is using her pheromones to seduce you! She is up to something bad, believe me! Don't go with her, but stay here with me instead."

After he said that he looked over to the Falleen and shouted: "What the **** is WRONG with you!? Get the hell outta my sight or get hurt!"

"I wouldn't sug-"Mawld'e made a move to stop the Nautolan though as he did the doors to the cantina burst open filled with armed forces. Mawld'e turned towards the door and weakly laughed at the sheer bad timing. He certainly hadn't expected them to respond so quickly.

The lead officer made a step forward towards the Nautolan holding the Sephi. "I'm sure you know, sir, that starting disturbances in a public establishment is bad enough. Man-handling a woman, though is in-excusable. You going to have to come downtown with us." He motioned for the Nautolan to put the female down.
