((Posting order: Ols, Radnarl, Lavi, Kaeb))

The vast floating cityworld of Xenvaer had a raging battle running across it like a forest fire. Soldiers ran to and fro, lobbing grenades, firing rifles and fistfighting in smaller spaces. In the midst of it all, there was to be a fight, a great battle between four combatants who have nothing to do with the planet-wide war. From the windows and high areas, one can see the beauty of Alsakan far below. The city is a strange place, not quite a space station, but yet not quite a plaent.

On a platform, stand two of the combatents. One is Freyr Kange, the Alsakan officer. Next to him, stands the leader of the Shade Order, Cain Ray. He stands in nothing more than his black and grey robes, his cloak has already been shrugged off and his silver lightsaber blade hums as he uses it to block the occaisional over-zealous blaster bolt from the battling armies from harming his partener or himself. He squints, looking not just with his eyes, but through the Force, for their enemy, ready for the battle to begin.

Abele lay under a truck bed. Nearly invisible she crept forward ever so slowly. He rifle in her right hand, she pushed forward with a medium crawl. Oddly enough few soldiers of either side of the conflict were near her position.
She froze, an explosion rocked the area around her. It would mask her movement so she sped up. Reaching the edge of the truck bed she raised her rifle. The cross hairs realigned to her eyes, tunnel vision for a moment disoriented her.

where is a good target? she asked herself silently. Her cross hairs fell on an Alsakan officer, and then to a lightsaber wielding man. Not a jedi, she new what jedi looked like... they must have been half a mile away, far enough so she had time to fire and hide, but still close enough to be accurate.

Freyr looked towards the sky, an arm reaching out, crooked like a branch. A falcon lands on it.

"Are they here, Remiel?" he asked it. The falcon made a single cry. "Good, leave before you get yourself hurt."

The Remiel nods and flies off. "They are here," Freyr said, loading his sniper rifle, "even if eyes cannot find them."

He placed the butt of his sniper rifle to his shoulder, and began scanning the more rugged terrain of the field through the scope, seeking out possibly hidden foes. "I'll have an easier time picking them off if you remain close by to protect me."

The air was putrid and black, reflecting the black mood of Kaebis. He stood on beside a great statue of some deity or leader of Alsakan history. He breathed in the cold air, almost coughing due to the unsatisfaction it gave him.

He observed the battle below, seeing the countless live's being extinguished for some riddiculous casue or another. He wished he could save them, but for now he would have to fight his own battle. Right after he engaged his opponent.

Or awaited them to engage him....

..he had not yet found those he would fight, but he had a rough idea of where they where. But as his master had taught him, do not engage an opponent, let them engage you. This will give you time to prepare and counter their move.

And so he took another deep breath of the putrid air.

Cain closed his eyes and looked at the objects before him through the Force. To him the soldiers looked bland, uninteresting and grey. Next to him, Freyr looked different, bright. And in the distance he could see two bright figures. one was standing, like he was, and the other seemed to be lying on the floor, very far away too. He pointed Freyr the the lying enemy, before pulling a large overturned car over, through the Force, for Freyr to use as cover. Cain then focused on the other figure, raised his lightsaber and leapt towards it.

In the scope a huge car blocked out the other sniper. That would be here next target, the scope whirred and spun to zoom out. She tried to use infrared, but it would not work here, too hot. She peeked up from her scope for a moment to see where the other force user had gone off to. Obviously to fight another force user. They never fight the war those jedi, always fighting other jedi...or dark jedi, or whatever the hell they are called.

Abele was well hidden next to a tire. They are supposed to be bullet proof so she counted on that. Her right was protected and she pulled some loose netting next to her. Like a recluse she crept backwards.

There would be a time to peek back out, but in the mean time where the lightsaber wielding enemy had gone seemed more important. there you are, flying through the air, if you weren't going so fast I'd shoot you down. She planted her scope where she expected the shade knight to land. A good a time as any to fire off a shot.

[[[[if there is confusion Abele is watching Cain fly through the air wile farther under the truck. She's well hidden and can't see where the overturned car and Freyr is.]]]]]

Freyr sprinted to the cover supplied to him by his companion, not giving a word, less it startles their hidden foe. He pressed his back against the vehicle, changing from rifle to pistol as he does so. Even with the finger pointed towards the location of Abele, he could not distinguish the exact location of the female sniper. He looked around the urbane region, seeking nearby cover to creep closer to his armed opponent.

Leave a Jedi's fight to a Jedi.

Kaebis didn't hesitate, but immediately used the force to bring his lightsaber to his hand, he then ignited it. His foe was one he recognized, but he wasn't sure from where. Kaebis wore only black legging's and black boot's because of the heat of the planet.

His foe had landed before him, lightsaber already ignited. And yet they didn't engage in battle immediately. It was not the Jedi way. They merely circled eachother, each trying to determine the form and characteristics of the other.

This one was a gray Jedi, one who didn't answer directly to the other and yet one who would keep the peace.

Kaebis continued to circle him, awaiting him to make the first move.

Cain knew his foe was waiting. He sensed danger too, from the other combatent. He circled around to put Kaebis between he and the sniper. And once they began sparring it should be too tough a test for the sniper to hit him and miss her own accomplice. Cain was not one to invite an attack onto himself and he fell into his duelling Makashi stance. He used a strange developed style of lightsaber combat, really a combination of Djem So, Makashi and Ataru, but not entirely any of them. He lunged forward, lightsaber in an attacking position, his face expressionless.

Dammit. Abele crawled back into her cover again. If she could communicate with the jedi... Doesn't matter.

She emerged from cover only to show the slightest bit of rifle and flesh. Her rifle scanned the area. There seemed no real threats, butt hen she spotted him. The one earlier, a slight bit of cloth, the same as before. She took up aim, not to shoot but to ready for the perfect shot, and Abele could wait a very long time.

From his cover behind the vehicle, Freyr bit his lip. There were no other suitable cover. In order to attract the attention of the hidden opponent, he would have to use a decoy, or himself. Using Remiel is both unnecessary, and dangerous for the falcon. It would be a blow to his own heart for the courageous bird to be shot by a bolt of energy. Instead, he began opening pouches on his utility belt, picking out equipment suitable for temporary distraction.

With equipment in hand, he began plotting his move.

Kaebis quickly parried the blow beside, the Gray Jedi had risked alot by entering on such a large move. He appeared to be using an adaption of several forms, all of them focusing more on attack and defense, perhaps he could use this to his advantage, using his attacks against him.

A series of parries and quick strikes where exchanged between the two trained Jedi. Both appeared to have completely different fighting style's, which would make it a dangerous and elongated battle.

He made his attacks, quick and descisive, aiming to confuse the foe moreso then to actually strike him. He was very good, not too fast but not too slow either, but he could change his tactic's at any moment, so Kaebis anticipated this.

The gentle hums of both lightsabers could be heared, even with the epic battle raging below. His foe wore and expressionless mask, as did Kaebis, speech was not neccasary. They where here to battle, not converse over idle gossip.

His foe favoured his left side a moment, exposed Kaebis saw an oppurtunity but did not take it as it was to obvious a trap. His foe appeared to notice this and batted Kaebis lgihtsaber aside in frustration.

And so the battle continued, blue lightsaber against silver, a battle of Jedi. While a battle of snipers was about to ensue in the distance. He thought a moment that his companion may need help. He made sure he kept his distance from his foe, knowing at any time he may need to force leap to his companion, defending him at any cost.

And so the battle continued.

((Cain isn't frustrated...and just to note and to avoid any confusion, he has not mastered any of those forms individually, he has taken say a third of each of them and blended them into his own fighting style, which he has mastered, but it is really one form.))

Cain was impressed by his opponent's skill. For one so young, one he had believed to be only a padawan, he was parrying Cain's attacks well. He had not exerted himself yet, though. They had just begun to fight, this short beginning was more of a warm up if anything. And he had yet to show what he could do with the Force. For now he continued his spar with the Zabrak, utilising his fighting style cleverly. First a delicate and placed Makashi feint, followed by a strong attack taken from Djem So and a pirouette into an Ataru slash, completely immersed in the Force. He varied every combination, first attacking then defending, allowing Kaebis to fight onto him for the moment, before twisting around in an Ataru-esque kick and knocking him back. There was a pause in the fight, Cain still sure to place Kaebis between himself and the sniper, and for the first time he addressed his opponent.

"Impressive, padawan," said Cain, "but this fight has barely begun."

He raised his empty left hand and let the Force flow through him, in the form of a great push towards Kaebis.

(ooc: Not frustrated by the fight or anything, just a little moment of annoyance at a move you expected to go up on.)

Kaebis was suprised he had been adressed. It was not a regular occurence in a lightsaber battle to pause at any moment. But in that pause he noticed his opponent reaching out for a force push. He quickly, in one swift movement, jumped upwards. He soared through the sky above his opponent, using force pull he through his lightsaber down in a slash towards the opponent.

He almost seemed to float for a brief isntant, and then he soared back down ready to catch his lightsaber in hand before he reached the ground, hoping his force slash with his lightsaber had caught his opponent off guard.

He had quick reflexes, sure enough, and was audacious. He had thrown his lightsaber at Cain, and if he had been the slightest bit more attentive he would have caught it. It harmlessly hit his silver blade, though. The push technique had not worked. Now it was time to show him why the dark side was worth studying. His face still calm and expressionless, he raised his left arm and focused emotion. A strong burst of lightening flew at Kaebis. He had heard of lightening being deflected, using lightsabers and the Force deflection powers, and it was possible, but few Knights took the time to learn of the technique, let alone master it. And Kaebis was just a padawan. The lightening would hurt. But Cain did not want to kill him with lightening, such a thing was a torturous weapon of evil people. He just wanted to shock him.

She panned the area. It was strange, but maybe her position was known. No, if they knew where it was I'd have taken a few shots already
She stopped, the car, or was it that truck nearby to it. Her crosshairs rested between there. If the enemy moved from cover, they would move there, she was sure.

((Order seems to be forgotten

And damn. I forgot my brilliant idea...))

Ready: Freyr looked at the simple construction he hastily made. He used some strips of cloth, darkened to black with soot from the ground, and wrapped them tightly around the butt of his sniper rifle, with a load of pieces of gravel arranged to give a more human look to it. It would suit for a proper decoy, if only for a moment. Judging from the rough distance, the fake shoulder should be able to get a genuine reaction from the hidden sniper. There is little use in keeping his position a secret: neither, although unknownst to them, are aware of their opponent's position.

He took a deep breath, and make his move, flashing his fake shoulder briefly from the edge of the truck, to give the impression he is shifting his position behind the obstacle. In his mind, he hoped that the truck could withstand sniper shots. After waiting a few more seconds, he moved to the other side of the truck, pulling out a mirror from his utility belt and using it to peek around the truck without getting himself into the line of fire.

The Alsakan captain is highly uncertain that his fake shoulder would be enough to assist him in making his move, but it was his best option so far. Freyr needs to know the location of the sniper in order to accurately execute his plan. He did not get promoted to captain for nothing.

Abele saw the shoulder, but she would go for nothing less than a torso shot.
Just a little more, a little more. She shot at the edge of the truck, not towards the fake shoulder but to where she expected the chest to be. This was of course not where the chest was, but a sniper shot would easily punch through the edge plating and into the higher parts of the decoy sniper rifle.

As soon as she shot she waited, her rifle was able to fire four shots before she had to reload. She had three shots left in this cell, then she had plenty more. Abele moved, and quickly. Other soldiers might have seen the shot and it was always good to move after every shot. She crawled back and got up, sprinting low she reached an upside-down truck. It had been hollowed out by a blast and was perfect for new cover. It was also a better angle on her previous target. Unfortunately it was now not prime range. Now it was about three-fourths of a mile from that position.

She stopped and tried to control her breathing. Laying down and leaning on what used to be an axle, and she leaned up against a warm piece of what was probably an ammunition box. Pacing her rifle in a comfortable notch in armor she looked for her target. You are here somewhere, dead yet?

Oh damn… thought Freyr as he examines the hole created by the sniper round. Now he knows the distance to his opponent at that moment. Freyr did not leave out the possibility that the sniper moved, and has already predicted several possible relocations. With the mirror in hand, he detected slight movement. Barely enough to figure out exactly where the sniper slipped off two. With the movement as a clue, he eliminated all but two locations. Now which one was it?

Being careful, he did a quick wave over the hole with the fake shoulder, to distract the attention of his foe. If a shot was made, he was ready. However, Freyr did not expect the sniper to go for such a blind move. His well-being is on the line: snipers are among the most dangerous of foes an individual soldier may face on the battlefield. It takes a ton of strategic planning to eliminate just one; it is a nuisance to many, including Freyr. Already, a bead of sweat formed on his forehead, which the captain promptly wiped away.
