Convening the Galactic Senate [ATTN Senators!]

It has been talked about in the Republic boards that the members of the Senate should hold a hearing on the recent battles like Ando Prime and others as a way to tie up loose ends before the timeskip next week.

This discussion thread is to decided whether the entire Senate should convene, or just a sub-committee of the Senate, or whether we even have enough interest in the role-play.

Of course, this could also serve as a thread to be RPed in by the Jedi and the other Republic higher-ups if they are called to testify before the committee about the battle we hold a hearing on.

If you are interested, add you opinions and state what character you could include. If we get enough interest and answer the questions in this post, then we can throw up a thread in the Story board.

There's enough Senators signed-up for a committee. Now we just need those involved in the battle to agree to the hearing thread

I think it makes sense for this to be a closed-door committee meeting, kind of like the Senate Hearing scene from Iron Man 2 but without all of the reporters and all.

And I think aside from Adara and the other military commanders, having a Jedi to explain the nature of the Intel that led us to Ando would be nice, as well as maybe Tarus' SOLAG commander although I don't know if he is required to testify or not.

If we need a committee chair for this, I volunteer my Senator Korembeck.

Actually you don't need them to agree to the hearing. ICly, you can summon them before the committee -- but what if they don't show up? That presents opportunities for more IC drama and consequences, which is always fun.

I worded that badly. I had meant that we needed to notify them that we're doing this.

Call on Adra, the SOLAG commander you mentioned, Tarus, and one of the higher ranking Jedi on the mission.

If we cannot decided upon a Jedi to call, we will simply call the Grandmaster of the Order to the stand to testify on the Order's behalf.

Does that sound reasonable?

Also, for reference, can someone get the links to those threads and post them here? I will post all crucial information to this meeting in my first post up above so that we can see where we have gotten.

There is no SOLAG general, just Tarus who is our CO (character name is Aphos Veln). Ru's SOLAG character, Abelle, had command of the temple assault itself. Will's Jedi, Master Haung, led the Jedi efforts, so I would think the three just mentioned would be called forth.

Most likely Menuaan, the second in command of the naval forces who took over from Adara when her ship lost communications. Autumn's still in limbo, unfortauntely, so it's a bit tricky.
