The head of the Directorate. All of which are NPCs. That I control. Thus, I can.

I would recommend that, as this therefore gives you De Facto total control over an entire planet, that this is flagged up with the admins.

Agreed. If someone could report the OP, that would be great.

While it's true that Senators have a great deal of power and influence over their respective planets, I don't want anyone to be under the assumption that this gives you unquestionable authority either. You can do a lot in the name of your planet, for sure, but if things get too extreme or weird then it might be grounds for intervention. It's not something we want to ever have to do though, obviously, so better judgement is probably advisable.

That said, I don't think locking out the entire ruling body as NPCs for no real reason is entirely fair, either. If someone wants to make a Directorate PC, they absolutely should be able to.

Senators get a lot of free reign over their planets. This is intentional, as we wanted Senators to be able to influence internal politics within the Republic and sort of...give Senators the ability to screw up the Republic if the Senate proves to be utterly incompetent or just terrible in general. However - and I feel this should be stressed here - but having a Senator of a planet does not give you full, unquestionable authority for all perpetuity. If your Senator dies, you lose control over your world, and there's a grace period where other members are allowed to create a new Senator for the planet your dead character used to speak for.

Basically what I'm saying is that if you want to have this kind of power structure to affirm your authority, it's only really applicable while a Senator is alive and actively serving, and there are consequences for character death, the same as with all other factions.

Of course! I totally understand that. And I'd be totally cool with someone making a direcotrate PC :)

Wait. So what does this mean in terms of Senatorial control over a planet? I know you said we could make Directorate PCs, but does Prudii have complete control until then?

Complete control within reason. If Prudii goes off the deep end we might intervene, but Senators have a lot of power and authority. High stakes, high potential for losses etc.

*Shrug* Up to you man. But it feels like the stakes are basically the same as with other characters, wherein you loose everything when you die.

They can try to circumvent the senator's authority. If Krass dies or removed from office Prudence does not choose his successor

I've updated this with a Legal Statutes and Warrants area where I can keep a track of individuals that are under arrest, or trade / travel that is banned
