While the arguers hadn’t been so responsive to him, they did listen to Nikko. She appeared much more angry than Quin had expected. Maybe they both just needed to yell in order to be heard, but at least the Jedi had their attention now.

We care! You may not have been here for long, but we’ve had to endure years of this. And now we have to expect them to suddenly change?” It was a fair point, but before one of the pirates shouldered his way through to try and argue back to the woman Quin stepped in between them.

“Things are different now. You have our word for that.” Neither group seemed to be appeased at that, as grumbles went through the crowd, but at least they weren’t shouting at each other anymore. Trying to think of some kind of solution, Quin glanced at Nikko.

“Since both of you are wary… and rightfully so, Nikko and I can stay for a while to make sure there’s a smooth transition.” That couldn’t hurt, and hopefully within a few weeks some relationships could be forged. That way both the pirates and the villagers could get used to each others’ presence, and they could keep an eye on Andy and whoever the new mayor would be.

Fortunately, there didn’t seem to be much complaining at that, and Quin let out an internal sigh of relief.

The way Quin put it made more sense than her outburst. It was also probably more, y'know…Jedi-like. Once the crowd had dispersed (and it was done with more than a small amount of angry muttering and grumbling, but it happened), her shoulders slouched a little and she deflated a little. "Sorry for…blowing up like that," she mumbled, looking down at where she fiddled with her hands and not meeting Quin's eyes. Her yelling had been pretty naive, just thinking that everyone should just forgive each other. She was, to put it bluntly, a kriffing idiot.

The Pantoran ran a hand through her lilac hair awkwardly. "I just got annoyed with them. I wish they would just figure it out." It annoyed her.

Nikko decided she needed some caf.

As the villagers and pirates began to go their own ways again, Quin was left standing with Nikko. His gaze softened as the Padawan began fiddling with her hands and apologized for the outburst. He could understand where she was coming from— it wasn’t easy to keep one’s temper when so much had already gone wrong today.

“It’s okay. You’re tired. It is frustrating, especially when they don’t listen. As Jedi, it’s our job to mediate, even when it looks like both sides hate each other.” Unfortunate that that was the case, maybe, but things did usually end up working out.

“You know what? We succeeded in that today. And what better way to celebrate than with a nice warm cup of tea?” Quin grinned. Maybe Nikko was more of a caf person, but either way they were both sold in the same place. There was always common ground.

With that, the two Jedi would go to get their drinks. Another day’s work done.
