Fauztin nodded, already beginning to slow his breathing and concentrating on a slow and steady pace. He knew the basic idea of the ability from what he'd read and began to summon a force of energy with the Force. He focused it on telekinetic power and thought about using it to form a solid barrier between him and his master.

"That feels right, are you sure you need to learn this? So it is all down to your imigination, begin by picturing the barrier or wall in your mind them move that image out and in front of you. The stronger your image, the stronger your wall. Now when you feel like you have a sustained wall I will test it."

Fauztin hardened his concentration and pictures a solid steel wall in front of him that curved around the sides to shield his sides. He used the remaining built up energy that he'd gathered and solidified it into that wall he'd pictured. He was confident that the barrier could withstand a heavy lightsaber strike, but probably not a consecutive series of attacks.

Shingen rolled his right hand into a fist and pointed his left at Fauztin. Then began flicking small balls of Force at the wall between Fauztin and himself.

The small balls of energy bounced off the barrier, barely making it shimmer between them. Fauztin saw where the telekinetic bursts hit the barrier and a soft blue light emitted from it. He concentrated harder and tried to keep the wall steady, still holding the grain of sand next to his head and pacing his breath at a slowed rate.

The air around them was now very thin and Shingen was wondering how long it would be before Fauztin noticed. He flicked a couple more balls of Force at the wall and there was no indication that they were effecting it so he began throwing larger and larger balls until at the wall could no longer keep the wall sustained.

Fauztin began to notice that it was harder to breath, but he just focused on slowing his breathing more, and still concentrating on the grain of sand. When Shingen started throwing larger amounts of Force, he kept the wall steady for a couple hits until one blast finally broke through, which Fauztin replied with a light Force Push so it wouldn't knock him aside.

Very good. How did you find the task? Ieu walked over and stood next to Shingen, he was sending the words telepathically to Fauztin because the air was now too thin to speak normally.

Fauztin heard the voice in his head and frowned. He did not see Ieu move his lips at all, and he wondered how he'd done that. He opened his mouth to speak, but felt that the air was too thin and his voice came out as a low whisper. He concentrated and slowed his breathing even further, focusing his thoughts on Ieu, communicating on a telepathic level. "The task itself was easy enough to complete, the only hard part was being able to do it while controlling my breathing and holding the grain of sand simultaneously," he said through his thoughts.

Good now that you know how to produce barriers the only thing left to do is improve your speed at producing them and the overall strength and size of them this of course is best done by your self or with a partner at your level. Ieu was again talking to Fauztin telepathically.

I would suggest if you like the idea of multiple exercises at once, try creating the wall and then attack it with objects. You could even turn it into a game if there are two of you, by trying to destroy each others walls.

Is there anything else you would like to learn today?

Fauztin nodded in acknowledgment. He didn't want to waste any concentration with telepathy or air with speaking if he didn't have to. He figured he'd find another student who was at a similar level and would practice the abilities he's learned with him or her. Fauztin thought for a moment and nodded. "I'd like to learn a few other abilities, actually. Force Speed, for one. Another would be Electric Judgment," he said telepathically. It was an ability he'd read about and was fascinated by.

Force speed will be an interesting one. He turned and appeared to speak to Shingen who imeditally released his fist, which caused the room to quickly filled back up with air. "I believe that is all the help we need from you today Shingen, thank you very much. We will be at the grass clearing in the forest if we are needed."

"No problem. I will see you around Fauztin. It was nice to meet you." Shingen quickly picked up his robes and left the room.

Ieu turned back to Fauztin after Sien had left. "Do you know of the clearing in the forest?"

Fauztin relaxed at the blast of air and took a deep breath. He turned to Shingen and bowed in respect and turned back to Ieu when he'd gone. "Yes, I do. Should we go there now?" he asked, ready to learn Force Speed.

"Could you go on ahead, I need to report this broken glass to someone. When you get there begin by making a couple of circuits to loosen yourself up and I will be there shortly. If you are unable to find it come straight back to this room and use that wall mounted comm to call me. I am on channel 2."

Ieu then quickly left the room just as Shingen had done so moments before.

Fauztin nodded and went to the field that he'd been shown a few days before. He started doing some exercises to warm up and eventually got bored. So he started practicing some Force abilities that he'd learned until Ieu showed up.

Ieu entered the opening shortly after to find Fauztin. "I see you have begun without me." He smiled and walked over to where Fauztin was stood. "Now before we begin, do you know anything about using the force to enhance your speed?"

Fauztin shook his head, his Padawan braid shaking with it. He didn't know much about the technique, and hadn't attempted it on his own before. "Is there a certain way to do it? Or is it a general focusing of the limbs?" he asked, unsure how to go about increasing his body's speed.

"There are many ways to do it. First see how fast you can travel without the use of the force."

Fauztin did a quick sprint from one side of the clearing to the other at the average speed of a normal person sprinting.

"Good work Fauztin. Now there are many different ways to increase your speed, the first being to literally use the force to tighten and relax your muscles, this however can be potentially dangerous if you are not prepared for the task or if you push you body too far. The other main one is to use the force to will your body on, using it like an overall boost to your whole system. I would suggest learning the second as if has less side effects and is in my opinion better. Try it now, think about getting to the other side faster."
