Part of the reason they were never found was simply because they disappeared from common knowledge and faded into obscurity. He watched as she looked into his eyes and set the datapad down. He held the gaze, his thoughts lost into memories and words of the thousands of pages he had read. He didn’t answer her immediately, looking away as he broke the gaze. He almost regretted revealing what he did, and it contradicted his principles of always simply considering himself. There was no room for anyone else in the equation.
