Fyi, there will be a separate thread for the ground battle between Jedi and Bogan. We're keeping the military battle separate from the actual battle between members of the two orders. If you're doing planetary defenses, this is the thread to reply in, otherwise just wait for a bit. I need some other people to be online to coordinate the thread I'll throw up (most likely later tonight). Sorry for not making this clear.

What you say:

What I hear:

We're around Ando Prime - depending on where you jumped in, you'd probably be within firing range of 100+ ships. However, it's not a big deal.

You'd need into the thousands if you're trying to surround the circumvirance of the system and that's looking at it from a 2D perspective. Space is not flat, it's 3D. I doubt you have that many ships

Just posted a very NON OFFENSIVE post. Didn't control the enemy forces other than having them fire at me. Even when the characters shot I usually just said that they shot. Not anything about hitting them.

I haven't read the post yet but, just to reiterate, the Republic/Jedi side REALLY needs to get into the habit of not NPCing things. I understand that it takes a little longer when you can't just say what the enemy's reaction is, but that's how RPing works. One side does one thing, the other side does another.

The Bogan get to control what the Bogan do. The Republic and the Jedi get to control what the Republic and the Jedi do.

Wow, fielding hundreds of corvette-sized ships to take out the abandoned stronghold of the Dark Jedi?

I see someone is getting their strategy from an RTS game.

hehe a single modified corvette or shipping freighter poping outside the system ( it's on the corellian run, not uncommon) and letting loose a starfighter rigged with explosives on a slave control to micro jump and kamikaze into the temple at terminal velocity would be more than enough to lay waste to it...

but overkill is more fun ^_^

Also, do the Jedi know that the majority of the Bogan left the planet? Wouldn't that information still be a secret IC?

They don't know the Bogan left.

No, they don't. It's still secret, and the coordinates to Conscio weren't left behind with anyone on Ando Prime (which I established in a thread before the battle was posted, just in case anyone wants to cry foul =P). Even if the Jedi found out from a Dark Jedi that the planet the Bogan went to is called Conscio, it's basically a lost planet so they would have no idea where it is.

So they've brought a force to take down the estimated number of Bogan and their cronies? lol, unless those who are still on the planet are incredibly resourceful, this should turn into a bloodbath.

The Bogan are so secretive that the Republic and Jedi didn't know what to expect. Nexus' character had information about Bogan size since the character was a Dark Jedi, but that was from right after Banik took over so Nexus would've had no idea (IC) what the size of the force was. Basically, the Republic and the Jedi seem to have not taken any chances.

There are still a lot of ships in orbit, and there are places to hide in the mountains (considering the temple is in the mountains), so it's not a hopeless situation for people on the ground. It'll be a tough fight but this isn't a guaranteed victory for the Republic and the Jedi, especially if a message can get out to the Hutts or even Jade.

The problem is that if the Republic didn't know what to expect, they would have sent in enough ships for overkill no matter the situation. For those who were left behind, their only chance of surviving is to either hide and pray that no one finds them, or hope someone can get a message through to the Hutts. Even then they'll have to hold off the plausibly large fleet in place to take them down a few notches. Given all of that, the Republic could decide to simply glass the planet from orbit after extracting their troops, which wouldn't bode well for those who decided to hide.

It all rests on the Rpers and how well they can coordinate. If the Republic lacks coordination then they'll have a better chance, but if they can't keep it together with enough creativity to ensure their survival, then obviously they're screwed.

That's basically what I just said and what I've been saying.

Nice recap though. :p

It still fits in with what I said, though. The people on the surface are screwed unless they're incredibly resourceful. I don't foresee many survivors, tbh, but those involved can feel free to try and prove me wrong.

tbh if my character, my second Bogan, gets out of this I'm leaving the Bogan. I don't trust this wasn't a set up.

Yes I totally let half of this faction be destroyed and fed you all as lambs to the slaughter when I could've just said we all moved to Conscio and had a much stronger faction because of it.

Obvious sarcasm, of course, lol.
