the three ship limit was removed.

But it still has to be approved.

For all intents and purposes, unless you have a bloody good reason, it's pretty much valid. That was a rule in the old timeling, before the new rules came in and were scrapped.

The Alsakan Union has 300 warships* in their entire fleet. The Republic has 900. Irrelevent of the fact that Independent factions are only allowed to start with 3 corvettes or fighter squadrons, your planet would not have a fleet of 10,000 ships. Not to mention the sanctions and military action the Republic would have taken if they even tried to build such a force. Add the fact that you're part of the Republic, and you definitely would not be able to produce such a military.

*A warship is a military craft of any class larger than a corvette (Frigate and upwards)

So, just to get specific, what size must the fleet be? And also, if 10,000 was too much, why didn't you tell me from the beginning?

Well it's an independent faction. So it should be a fraction of the size of the Republic or Alsakans.

And I didn't tell you from the beginning because that happened to be my first comment on this thread.

I thought he okayed your faction before you made your fleet about 100 ships strong.

It's been growing. Nobody has attacked the shipping or messed with it, so I just slowly made it bigger.

Yes. The fleet is about 120 ships strong. Smaller capital ships mostly, but a few monsters.

Nobody attacking negates the need for expansion.

And did Grim okay all of them?

If you want to respond to this, PM me or take it to your own facton's thread. Let's not spam up this one.

That's it - i'm never approving this. Ever.

Kidding. But you do need to lower the ship numbers. 850 capital (carrier, dreadnought and battlecruiser size) ships is way over the top, not to mention the intermediate, light capitals like the cruisers and strike cruisers. To be honest, for an independant faction, a new one especially, 850 ships in total is probably pushing the boundaries.

You need to nerf your fleet numbers drastically.

I was unaware that carriers were capital ships (I assumed they just transported ships), but I brought the numbers down to 6200. Go more?

Just so you have an idea for future reference, the Republic has:
60x Carrier Class Vessels (each with 5x 12 fighter squads)
240x Cruiser Class Vessels (each with 2x 12 fighter squads)
300x Destroyer Class Vessels (each with 1x 12 fighter squads)
300x Frigate Class Vessels (each with 1x 12 fighter squads)

That's in order of size and firepower. There's 900 captial ships there in total and 1380 fighter squadrons (16,560 fighters). The Republic has a further 150 corvette class vessels.

The Alsakans have a third of this. (300 capital ships, 50 corvettes and 460 fighter squadrons totalling 5520 fighters).

An independent faction should have less than 90 capital ships, in my opinion. 90 capital ships is the staple of 1 "fleet" (the Republic has 10 of these fleets, the Alsakans divide theirs up slightly differently).

I still think you have way too many strike craft. Two thousand interceptors alone is...massive.

But thanks for being so cooperative and listening to what we have to say. It makes our jobs so much easier.

No prob.

Strike cruisers was cut by 130 ships, so it's about 250 now (this includes both class 1 and 2 combined), and I cut the numbers of the recon interceptors, so the fleet number is about 6,030. The reason I had so many fighters is because I wanted the fighters to be the bulk of their forces instead of frigates or capitals.

EDIT: lowered it more to 5,400.

EDIT: Again to an even 5,000.
