Someone shouldn't be allowed to kill your character without direct approval from you. I'd call shenanigans and just bring your old character back. That's kinda bullshit.

No, because If permission was used every time, NO ONE would die.

The 'ooc' gang up wasn't so much as a gang up as the enemy side trying to get it through to you that the ways you were trying to escape the station were cheap and wouldn't work. =\

Anyways; please expand this character's profile. As I said, I'm not going to allow the carbon copying of a deceased character.

if you hadn't noticed, the only thing the same is their age. actually the rest is different. some of it minor, some of it major, but it is no longer a carbon copy.

I'd also like to say this character needs more word meat in her profile.

she has more than some that get approved. I'll flesh her out when I feel less murderous.

Can a legit Jedi Master be twenty? That's like giving a college girl the position of General in the military.

yeah, if you call escaping death twice easy. and I would have gotten away with it too. aspecially since santoro only checked the pods once, then by logic they would not recheck them for life later when nuka piloted on back to the station and got on the forceful way. then she would have fallen to the surface. but santoro overlooked that in his post, or at least i assumed he did based on the way he worded it.

Still, why is a Jedi Master twenty? I wouldn't call a twenty year old a paragon of wisdom capable of leading legions of Jedi.

I agree with this. Maybe 30 would be ok. I don't understand how a 17 year old master slipped by...

like I said, she was 17, I aged her to 20 on my birthday. As Niva is going to pick up where nuka left off I want them to be similar, though this has allowed me the opportunity to add the emotions nuka was incapable of displaying.

She has fourteen Force powers. It takes time to learn one Force power, let alone fourteen. So how could a twenty year old Jedi know fourteen Force powers and have the wisdom to be raised as a Master? It doesn't make sense. Most Jedi Knights are in their twenties when they are first advanced to Knighthood. What chance does a twenty year old have of becoming a Master? That's taking the word "prodigy" to a whole new level of Mary Sue.

uh, there's a 29 year old council member. I think a master should be more around 25.

but she's 30 now so it matters not.

I alerted Sreeya of this earlier today, there will be a shake-up regarding all this age stuff.

I say as long as there are jedi coming in who were not raised in the temple there should be no age restrictions.

edit: in my opinion.

I echo what others have said about how PCs should die. The timeline of this thread is called "The Hutt War," and people die in wars. Topics marked as "Main Thread" in the Story board give someone a better chance at dying, since they're central plot threads. Additionally, the thread where (if I remember right) this character was captured actually had "Battle" in the title, so it was no secret going in that it was going to be a battle.

PC deaths help keep the RP fresh and interesting for people. You may very well be able to RP a character for 2 years, but would you want to? I would get bored with constantly RPing the same character for that long. PC deaths not only keep the RP interesting, but it gives you an opportunity to try something new with a new character.

I would strongly encourage you to NOT avoid main threads and battle threads because you're afraid of your character dying. You shouldn't get so attached to a character that you can't stand them dying. Obviously it sucks when one of your characters die, but don't hold them back from the main plot just because you're afraid of dying otherwise you're limiting what you can do and you're just painting yourself into a much too safe RP corner. There's less room for growth as a writer and a RPer in that corner.

No, because If permission was used every time, NO ONE would die.

Permission just means that you need to be the one to make the post saying your character is dead, since there's no auto-hitting/auto-killing. Most people are good about recognizing when they have no more options of escape and defense, so they RP the character's death post.

So it's sort of like giving permission, but it's not "yes, you may kill my character" but rather "****, I have to kill my character."

But attachment to a character is unavoidable, there should be one character each whom is protected by a rule that says requires player permission to dies. I would be bereft if someone offed Seamus. I've used him the most as well as put the most time into developing him and I wouldn't like to see him killed because someone metagamed or called shots.

And, despite what you say, people will always avoid main threads if they think their character is going to die. Nobody wants that. It's a fine balance between keeping the game moving and stalling it because of realism.
