Samantha took a seat on a stone slab. Then as following her master's instructions she begun to meditate. She was wondering if this would really help her become one with the force at all. Somethings the jedi seemed to teach seemed pointless. But that is just her opinion.

Chester felt the slight hint of restlessness that his Padawan was experiencing as she slipped into a meditative trance. During meditation, the mind tended to open itself up without proper training, causing thoughts and emotions to slip out more freely. Although he would have entered meditation as well, a part of his Padawan's attitude perturbed him.

"Well done. It seems that you know how to meditate - much better, in fact, than most newly-honed Force-sensitives. Alas, your mind seems troubled. Feel free to lay your grievances on me. I'm all ears."

Samantha hated when people tried to be all I'm all ears with her but she kept that to herself. She continued her meditation and listened to her master's voice. She didn't care but still she was just eager to get this over with.

Chester mused over Samantha's attitude. Silence spoke louder than words in this occasion, it seemed. Impatience and impudence were the first signs of arrogance. And arrogance led to pride. And pride led to... well...

"You seem displeased. Am I not going fast enough for you?" Chester inquired, visibly amused. Unlatching one of the two training sabers from his belt, the Jedi Knight tossed the weapon to his Padawan learner. "Let's get right to it, then. Lightsaber combat. You can move first, if you think you're ready."

Chester ignited the other training saber on his belt, allowing its green hue to rush from its handle. He couldn't be bothered to lower the energy level on his lightsaber for this occasion, so he would fight with this standard - and weaker - lightsaber. Manning a basic Ataru opening stance, Chester saluted his Padawan and waited for her attack.

"You seem displeased. Am I not going fast enough for you?" Chester inquired, visibly amused.

Samantha heard these words and listened and wait to think up a good responce. "If one always aimed to please everyone then the end of life might happen sooner" She said. She grabbed the training and ignited it after a minute or two of trouble trying to ignite the blade. She stood up and swung the blue lightsaber at her master's head. She figured she was taller then her master by a few inches so she begun to aim high.

Chester smiled, pleased with his Padawan's response. It reminded him of his own demeanor when he was a Padawan.

"This is true. Although it seemed you were anxious to start the actual training. But in either case, you started well. Although I'm surprised you would attack my head - am I really putting you through so much trouble already?" Chester joked.

Chester watched the blade flow toward his head and gracefully parried the weapon away with his own green lightsaber, batting Samantha's weapon to the left while keeping a firm defense. Once her lightsaber was away from him, Chester called upon the Force and sent a soft telekinetic push toward his Padawan, intended to send her back about a meter or so.

Samantha went a meter back. She muttered some swear word she wasn't aware her master would be using the force in this fight. She dived towards him in a running stance about to tackle his legs. Now she would have her body to use so he couldn't swing to get the training lightsaber out of her hand. She went to try to cut at his knee he wouldn't expect it. Samantha was eager to get this fight over.

"Well it could go faster" She said as she was just about to land either ontop of him or smack her head on a stone slab and be on the cement.

Chester waited patiently as his Padawan approached. As she broke into a full tackle, the Jedi Knight chuckled ever so slightly. Always so eager.

The Jedi Knight jumped high into the air to avoid his Padawan's tackle, and landed behind the bench. He hoped that Samantha would not be too wounded from colliding with the stone slab, but it could not be helped if she was. He switched off his lightsaber upon his descent and raced over to see if his Padawan was all right.

Samantha landed and she was lucky she missed a stone slab. Then to get a advantage she grabbed a second training saber. Then got up quickly she ignited it second green glow went off. Then Samantha swung that towards her master's head. The other one she threw towards his chest.

{{Where did you get the second training saber?}}

Chester carefully avoided the projectile that was tossed at him, making sure that the weapon deactivated itself upon collision with the ground. Once he was sure that the throwing weapon would not cause any harm, he turned his attention back to his Padawan.

"Slow down, you're rushing. I understand you want to get this over with, but sometimes we just have to wait."

Chester blocked the lightsaber strike at his head with his own lightsaber as easily as he had blocked the first. Keeping the two weapons in a saberlock, he ensured that neither of them could move their weapons - for the time being.

"Let us return to meditation and training," Chester said suddenly, causing an anticlimatic mood. Deactivating his weapon, Chester stepped out of the way lest his Padawan's weapon struck at him, and sat back down on the stone slab, waiting for his Padawan to put away her weapon.

Samantha disignited her training lightsaber. Lightsaber combat seemed so much more important to her then just meditation. But oh well that was simply opinion. She sat back down on a stone slab and begun to meditate again. Meditation might be just what she needed.

Chester nodded and smiled. It was amazing how fast things got back to normal. I suppose that was the Jedi's lot in life - meditate until necessary, defend, and then return to serenity. Alas, they could not just meditate all day, they had other things to do.

"All right then, Samantha. I believe you've gotten the hang of meditation. Let's try something more active, now. You're going to attempt to use Force Sight. In Force Sight, you allow the Force to serve as your eyes. Close off your physical eyes and enter the power of the Force; use your mind's eye to sense what you normally cannot.

It may take a few tries - or not, you appear rather prepared for a non-trained Force-sensitive - so," he paused for a moment. Taking a black sash out of his cloak pocket, he handed it to his Padawan, "take this, put it over your eyes, and begin whenever you are ready."

Samantha took the sash out of her master's hand. They went over her life history the jedi code and lightsaber combat and meditation. Her meditation had come to a end. She had only managed to successfully do this once before but now would be the perfect time to show the results of her practice. She covered her eyes with the sash. Then she begun to try to use force sight.

After the third try she was succesful. Now she could see her master through the force.

Chester was pleased; his student had succeeded upon her second try. It was about noon now, and birds and small insects had begun to make their way around the gardens of the Enclave in larger droves than before. Regardless, Chester decided to continue their training here for the time being.

"Very good, you catch on quick, like I expected," the Jedi Knight spoke out. "Now then, if you don't mind, let's get right on to the next Force skill that you will learn - breath control. Although it seems like a rather useless power, there are instances where it could be immensely useful. If you're attacked by a poison grenade, stuck in a room filled with carbon monoxide, or situations of that nature, breath control will save your life.

Breath control allows your body's internal clock to slow, allowing the heart, lungs, and individual cells to rest and work less. By allowing the Force to fill your body's innermost organs, you can sustain yourself with trace amounts of oxygen for hours, days, and some skilled Masters have used it for months on end. There is really no trick to it, simply hold your breath, focus on the Force - in its power and omnipresent aura - and count on it to keep you conscious. Begin when you are ready."

Samantha attempted to hold her breathe. Focusing on using the force. This ability seemed it would take more concentration. Samantha placed the sash over her eyes once more. Closing her eyes and focusing on the force and holding her breathe took time. After 4th try she was successful either she managed to use breathe control or she did something worse.

Chester nodded sagely. "Good, good. Now then, it's time for your next skill. Right down to business and all that. This time you will attempt to utilize the abilities of Force Healing. After a brief period in meditation, one is usually much more in tune with the Force. During this period of intense interaction with the Force, a Jedi can utilize their light side skills to heal wounds - from repairing flesh to restoring the strength of cells - by converting their energy into a healing ability."

Chester drew a small dagger from a leg-sheathe, and quickly rolled up his sleeve, keeping his clothes as neat as possible. Once they were safely out of harms way, he made a clean cut along his shoulder, a few inches above the bicep. Sitting down, he allowed it to begin to bleed slowly before putting the weapon away.

"I would like you to attempt to heal this wound," Chester explained. "I trust you enough and have enough faith in your abilities to go through with this. Whenever you're ready."

This would be a difficult thing to do seeing as Samantha had never tried to heal herself with the force before. She placed her hand on her master's cut and wiped her mind clean only focusing on the force. It didn't work but after the fourth time the wound vanished. Then Samantha removed her hand.

"Very good," Chester mused. He felt the skin stitch itself back together and return to normal. He himself had not yet mastered Force Healing, so he was impressed with his Padawan's ability.

Chester continued. "One more Force skill, then, before we move elsewhere. Telekinetic abilities are the basic defensive and offensive skills of the Jedi, but they are also crucial for survival. Therefore, you'll practice this now."

The Jedi opened a pouch attached to his belt and poured out a collection of ebony-colored runes. Each had a different design - a different image - on its surface, and although they were each barely palm-sized, they were heavier than they appeared, weighing in about 5kg each. About a dozen ended up on the ground.

"See how many of these you can lift at once," Chester added, although he did not inform her that he would be putting extra strain on them - via the Force - to test her strength. "Feel free to move them about at will, but remember to maintain control of all of them."
