Ordo's Training

[Niner]

Ordo lounged around waiting for his trainer to show up.
"Where is he?" Ordo said aloud.
He put his helmet back on and pulled up a picture of his family. He missed them so much. His mother and father, then there were the two twins, both were two years younger then him. The picture had been taken during one of Ordo's classes with his father. He knew he should go back and see them but he was so busy. At least the training would take his mind off of them. Ordo leaned againt the wall and started twirling his saber cassually.
"Where is he?"

Shane Oderyn strode in holding his helmet under his right arm. He never liked wearing it when not in combat or on an operation. Part of the helmet was intimidation and there was no need to do that to your won comrade.

"Sorry I'm late. Got caught in a few things that needed my attention. Well, let's start with the basics," Shane raised a gloved hand out to the Recruit, "I am General Shane Oderyn."

 

[Niner]

Ordo snapped straight up and slammed the longsword back into it's sheath. He took off his helmet, displaying the livid scar on his face and grasped the general's hand.
"SIR. Not a problem............I was just thinking about......things. Nice to meet you, Ordo Curoth at your command Sir.

Ordo looked at the man and realized that this man could be very dangerous if he wanted to be.

"What will we cover first?"

Oderyn smiled and chuckled.

"Well, first off let's work on loosening up a bit. Under my command don't call me 'Sir'. Call me General Oderyn or just General. Hell, if we get to know eachother better I might even let you call me just Oderyn."

shane gave the Recruit a reassuring smile. He didn't want the kid feeling like he was being yelled at. It never hurt to cover all your bases and not risk offending someone or coming off as a hard ass.

"Well, first off I need to gauge you abilities. Now, tell me what you are good at."

 

[Niner]

Ordo thought about it then said, "I'm best at close quarters combat, both armed," he pointed at the three foot long sword at his waist, "and unarmed. Long range combat comes after that." Ordo smiled, "Sir."

 

[Johnnysaurus Rex]

"Well, let's just see how good you are."

Shane pulled his combat knife from its sheath and waited for the Recruit to strike. It always seemed wrong for the trainer to attack the Recruit without warning on the first day.

 

[Niner]

Ordo looked at the knife. This man was going to fight him with just a knife? Ordo thought about drawing his sword but decided it wouldn't be honorable and decided to attack with the combat knife that was in his right gauntlet. He flexed his hand forward and the razor sharp knife slid out with a loud SHUNK.

He adopted the proper stance and then lunged forward with the knife, aiming at the gap between the left chest piece and center diamond of the Genral's armor.

Shane swiped away the blade. The thing with gauntlet blades is their use was more dierected to stabbing. Sure you can slice with it but that all depends on the blade's leangth and weapons meant for true CQB fights would extend up your forearm. Not entirely bad but the blades were a bit easier to throw off when coming at you. Once the weapon was aside Shane jumped back assuming that Ordo would stop and attempt a block for a counter-attack that wouldn't come.

"Don't be afraid to use that sword of yours. I can handle it."

 

[Niner]

Ordo showed his anxiety about using his sword on someone with only a knife to defend themselves, but the General had told him to.
"If you insist General." Ordo said.

He then retracted the blade back into the gauntlet with the same SHUNK and quickly drew the three foot sword. Wielding the sword in a classic two hand grip he brought the blade up into the air and feinted a vertical slash down onto the General's head. Right before he would have had to commit to the strike he switched to a horizantal slice to the throat, hoping that the General would try to block the fient and miss the real attack.

The General brought his knife so the blade was parallel to his forearm. Keeping the edges slanted away however. Shane was following the movements of the sword instead of using an anticipated point to block so he had been able to track the feint. He made contact with the longer blade and quickly adjusted his stance to compensate for the Recruit's strike. In the next instant he reached out with all four of his fingers pointing outward and the thumb brought into his palm. This was meant to be a quick strike at Ordo's throat and would temporarily obstruct his airway and cause him to move back if it connected.

 

[Niner]

The strike connected with Ordo's throat and he felt his airpipe temporarily collapse. Gagging, he dropped the ttack and steped back from the General. He wanted to do stuff like that, thats fine Ordo thought. He shifted his sword to his right hand and reaching into a internal sheath on his belt he brought out an coiled leather whip. Ordo cracked the whip in the air and advanced on the General slowly, wary of any more quick hand attacks.

Shane smiled in the sheer surprise of the whip being brought into play. Never had he seen a recruit wield a weapon in training and this would truly be a delight. The only people Shane HAD met witha whip usually knew how to use it and given him some nasty scars to prove it.

"Alright, let's see what you got."

Shane raged forward and drew his shortsword. He usually just had to use the knife on his opponents but this Recruit was making things interesting. A man after his own heart.

 

[Niner]

Ordo gave a little smile as he saw the General run towards him with the short sword. Finally a fight! He cracked the whip and sent it hurtling towards the sword, intending to wrap the whip around the blade and yank it out of the General's grip. At the same time he swung his sword at the General's legs, low enough that hopefully the General couldn't block both attacks, hopefully.

Shane smiled. The Recruit was mounting an attack on two fronts. Ordo also seemed to know some of the basic tactics for a whip. Too bad Shane had wanted that whip to connect the two of them.

First, he dealt with the whip. He hit the whip near the tip and that took the bite out of it, allowing for the strand to wrap around his arm. Once it was snug Shane dropped his sword and grabbed on. Now for the sword. Shane brought his knife down and intercepted the opposing blade. From his now lowered position it would look like Shane could not attack. Not true. The General gave the whip a hard yank, hoping to bring the Recruit closer. He was pulling the whip towards his chest. This gave him room to extend his elbow for Ordo to run into.

 

[Niner]

Ordo felt the strong tug on the whip and was pulled through the air to the General, WHAM! THe General's elbow connected solidly with Ordo's chin, snapping his head backwards and sending him flying to the ground. Ordo lay there, eyes closed and not moving, sword and whip still clenched in his hands in a deadman's grip.

"Crap... !"

Shane let go of the whip and knelt down next to the Recruit. Shane wasn't supposed to get intoa bladed confrontation or an intense sparring match. If anybody found out and decided to call him on it then he could be in a spot of trouble.

"If you are faking kid. I'll kill you myself."

 

[Niner]

Ordo's eyes fluttered as he regained conciousness, feeling his head he moaned. He sat up and feeling around with his tounge spat out a bloody tooth.
"Oh man General you really belted me one there. You aren't going to get in trouble for this are you? Because if you are then I just tripped and fell on a rock, nothing more. If you don't mind though, can me move on to something less.......physical? I don't know maybe like blasters or something. Please."

 

[Johnnysaurus Rex]

A visible sigh of relief came out of Shane's mouth. He was also concerned when the Recruit spit out the tooth. The General got up and extended a hand to Ordo to aid him in getting up.

"Sorry, I tend to get a little into the fights. Yes, we can move on but I want you to head over to that med station and stop the bleeding."

 

[Niner]

Ordo grinned, showing the gap in his mouth where the tooth was now gone, "Will do General." Grasping the General's hand he let himself be pulled up and then walked over to the medcenter to rinse out the sound with some bacta. After the bleeding had stopped he walked back over to the General.
"Actually General, you never know, maybe you did me a favor," Ordo fingered the gap in his mouth. "A corusca gem tooth might look good there, it would certainly attract the female Mandos." Ordo grinned as he said that, "As if my scar weren't dashing enough right?"

 

[Johnnysaurus Rex]

"Hmmm... riiiiiight. Let's go to rifle training. Head to that crate over there and pick up one preferred weapon to start with."
