Eredin's mask is unusual in many respects. It encompasses his entire head, his face hidden behind a plate rather than the usual design that depicts a facial structure. The helmet can be quite unnerving simply because it is smooth. It in a way gives the Sith an aura of inhumanity and it can be truly disturbing to see one's own reflection on the faceplate.
The smooth design allows for Eredin to have a wider field of vision and thus getting the full use of the motion tracking feature. The true genius is that the tracking program does not do all the work, instead it supplements his combat abilities by easing the stress. It is a display of his philosophy, that he will never admit the weakness of the fleshbrain.
