Ladies and Gentlemen, feast your eyes...

Some of you might be wondering "wtf did I just watch?" Well that was the announcement trailer for Chris Roberts' new game Star Citizen . It can best be described as an open ended space adventure game, with an offline single player mode known as "Squadron 42". This game just broke the record for the most crowed funded game in history, raising over 7 million dollars by donations alone (most of it in only 40 days). The entire game is being funded through donations, this means that the legendary Chris Roberts will not be tied down by big name producers. Now, I would love to write paragraphs about this ambitious project, but why don't I let the big man speak to you himself.

So I hope that the videos and this thread have piqued your interest. The game is planned to be released in Nov. 2014. A long way away, I realize, but I also know that I want the developers to take their time on this project.
See you on the star-lanes, Citizens!
EDIT: So if you guys are swimming in cash (or just want to lend a couple bucks to this awesome project) you can still donate on the star citizen website. Donating will give you guys bonuses such as alpha and beta access, a digital copy of the game, and other cool stuff like a model of your ship and a galactic map. Take note that those bonuses only come if you spend more than 30 bucks.
