Taizen's training

[Flame]

Taizen focused his attention both on the Holocron and on the holobook. First he used his mind to shift the holocron horizontally, and as he did so it also came off the ground about a foot or so. He was making rapid success. Then he focused his mind's eye on the holobook. When he did it lifted off the ground 6 inches. Both were hovering in mid-air sufficiently enough.

 

[JM76]

The Jedi Master placed his hands together, almost as if to clap. "Good work, Padawan. I am pleased by your progress. While you're still so able and connected to the Force, please try to use Force sight again, as you were attempting to yesterday."

Chester placed his lightsaber on the ground again when his Padawan's eyes closed. "The item on the ground in front of you is the same item from yesterday. Identify it using your Force-empowered vision."

 

[Flame]

Taizen closed his eyes and concentrated. At first he didn't feel anything. Then he felt this strange, serenity. He saw vaguely as if through a fog his master's face, smiling. He focused harder and the shape became clearer.

"It looks like..... a datacard Master."

 

[JM76]

"No, it is not a datacard," Chester noted. "One more try. If you cannot do it, we will move on to other things and we will have to let your Force powers develop before you try again."

 

[Flame]

((Um... I'm running out of objects that are similar to a vial hehe. A little help please? :P))

Chester removed his lightsaber from its location on his belt and placed it on the floor before his student...

Chester placed his lightsaber on the ground again when his Padawan's eyes closed. "The item on the ground in front of you is the same item from yesterday. Identify it using your Force-empowered vision."

((I thought it would be a different item than the lightsaber, and you just put your blade there to set it down, or summat like that. Not as the actual item.))

Taizen used the force and tried to reach out and touch objects. Slowly, but surely the object came into view. A black little shape appeared vaguely that looked rectangular and long. But it was also made of material stronger than steel. It had to be a....

"Is it a lightsaber master?"

 

[JM76]

Chester nodded. "Good work, Padawan. It is indeed a lightsaber." The Jedi Master picked up his lightsaber and put it back on his belt. "We've spent far too long here. Come with me."

The pair of Jedi left the room inside the temple, and Chester led his Padawan to a speeder located in the hangars of the Jedi Temple. After a quiet and uneventful trip, the two Jedi arrived at the slums of Coruscant, where very few bothered to come unless they had the misfortune of dwelling in this dark underbelly of the capital.

The two Jedi disembarked and Chester led Taizen away from the speeder, until they were alone in a rather wide-open area.

"It is time to add some more Force powers to your arsenal. You will be practicing Force speed and jumping here. Force speed allows a Jedi to transfer the Force and its energies into his legs, and he is able to move at superhuman speeds because of it. Force jump is similar, in the sense that it gives the Jedi some immunity to the forces of gravity and allows them to extend the lengths of their jumps.

Feel free to test and use these powers in this space, Padawan. There is no one to disturb you or for you to harm here. Once you think you have adequately used these powers, return to me.

And with that, Chester returned to the speeder to watch his Padawan's independent progress.

 

[Flame]

Taizen nodded. After thinking for a bit about the process he decided just to give it a try.

He started running, with open space ahead of him he had nothing to fear. Running faster and faster he picked up his pace and eventually became a blur. "I love this!" Thought Taizen as he ran around in circles, careful not to trip over his own feet.

Then while running he did a blackflip. It felt awesome!! This was one of the few things that he felt that he could do well without error. "I want to try running up a wall like they do in holomovies!" Thought Taizen as he ran into one of the more crowded areas (crowded meaning with space that is) and decided to run up the wall. He ran all the way up the wall, and then decided to hang on the edge of the wall with his feet parallel to the ground. It was an awesome experience.

Finally, he climbed on top of the building and and used the force to jump back down. Exhilarated, he went back to his master. "What's next?"

"Now, you should stop and catch your breath. More accurately, you will attempt to utilize the power of Breath Control. This power substitutes the power of the Force for your body's natural tendency to need oxygen to function. By letting the trace amount of air in your body to fill you at any one time, you can remain in a near-comatose state or move around while using this power for hours, and some can maintain it for days.

This is useful for avoiding contact with poisonous fumes and deadly toxins. Try to use this power now, Padawan."

 

[Flame]

Taizen thought for a moment and then he called upon the force. At first his heart rate slowed down slightly. Only after a while was he able to stop his heart rate from beating to the sound of a base drum.

"It worked."

 

[JM76]

"Good. Good. Then let us return to the Jedi Temple."

The Jedi Master allowed his student to enter their vehicle before heading out. On their trip back to the Jedi Temple, Chester turned to his Padawan and asked: "Padawan, the next part of your training is entirely up to you. Would you prefer to learn more Force powers, or would you like to begin lessons on lightsaber construction and combat?"

 

[Flame]

There would always be time later for training in the force. A jedi could even read it out of books if he had to.

"I would love to learn lightsaber construction and combat Master. That would be awesome!!!" Said Taizen with an excited grin on his face.

 

[JM76]

Chester smiled as well. "Very well. Starting tomorrow, we will begin your lightsaber training. For now though," Chester began as he pulled up to the temple courtyard, "get some rest. You'll need some time to rest and prepare before tomorrow."

 

[Flame]

Next morning: Taizen arose later that morning and got up fully rested. Soon, he was going to make his own lightsaber! What an exhilarating experience indeed!! It would have to be good enough to withstand the blows of dark jedi and foes of the Republic and justice. It needed to be able to be a symbol. A symbol of hope.

Those values and ideals were a few things that ran through Taizen's head as he got ready for the day by stretching and meditating. He waited for his master in the main entrance of the Jedi temple.

 

[JM76]

Chester Ducere was up earlier than normal, meditating and practicing with his lightsaber before the sun rose. The Force alerted him to his Padawan's readiness, and he headed for the temple entrance. Once he arrived, Chester greeted his Padawan. "Come, Padawan. Walk with me a while around the temple."

The pair started their journey through the temple almost immediately. Careful to avoid any damage caused by the Dark Jedi some time earlier, the two Jedi meandered silently, examining the sights and sounds of the Jedi Temple for some time. After about fifteen minutes of silence, Chester spoke up. "Padawan. As a Jedi, you should know the history of our Order. What can you tell me about the Jedi Order and its illustrious history?"

 

[Flame]

"All I know is that it's been around for ages, has stood up for justice, and the light side of the force and those who don't have a voice. I couldn't tell you many specifics because different books I've read say different things. But there were many great battles between us and the dark jedi and good always triumphs over evil. Is there anything more that I ought to know?"

 

[JM76]

Chester chuckled. "Very much so. Although our history is long, you won't be tested on this information. You should know that tradition generally traces our origins to the planet of Tython. Sometime thereafter, the precursors to our Order, several learned sages and mystical warriors, separated themselves from the followers of the Bogan -that is, the dark side- and became warriors of Ashla, the light.

From there, our Order expanded to planets like Corellia, Alderaan, and Dantooine, but we primarily settled on Ossus and Coruscant. After the first schism, which saw the defeat of the Legion of Lettow under the command of the Dark Jedi Xendor, we constructed our legendary weapon, the lightsaber. Until recently, our primary headquarters has been at Ossus, but due to the insistence of the Galactic Republic we have relocated to the temple here in the galactic capital.

You should also know our three most recent Grandmasters - Banik Kelrada, Dewbecca, and Colm Lorrian - and the part they played in the Alsakan Crisis of twenty years ago. However, such things are for you to learn on your own time, for I cannot teach you everything.
