skobra cautiously edged his way out of hiding, motioning for Kal to back him up if the miralukan tried to attack. Still, Skobra hoped he wouldn't need it. Six years of martial arts training, he figured, should be enough to hold his own in a fight.

"There are only two of us. We will take you alive. The BHG forbids taking death bounties. As for why we are hunting you, the republic has placed a bounty on any and all members of the skeleton guard. The BHG doesn't like to take sides, but if we were to go against the Republic, we would lose a lot of space and safety to hunt. Anyway, what the republic does is their business, but we will take you to them, claim our bounty, and be on our way. Nothing personal. If I had something personal against you I wouldn't bother accepting a bounty. I hope this can be done peacefully. I do not wish to shed unnecessary blood," Skobra said.

Remiel smiled. He tried to appear as amicable as possible and hopefully lull his opponent into a false sense of security. At this point, there was no way he could take out both of his opponents without either killing himself or receiving extensive wounds that would probably just end up killing him later. His hands were still up and away from his blaster rifle on the ground.

"Practicality and money. You both sound like true bounty hunters: first-class I bet. Despite claiming to not take sides, it's obvious that your bounty hunting organization fears the Republic and its military. Not surprising, to say the least; I'd much rather hunt operatives that served the underdog, rebellion movement than the unified, glorious, galactic superpower any day."

Remiel hesitated for a moment. If this didn't work, this was going to get messy. "You know, if you needed the credits, there are more than enough bounties that would pay much more than a single Alsakan officer - who isn't even that high-ranking. Plus, I would assume it would be safer for your organization to avoid the Alsakan and Republic military agents altogether. I'm sure there are enough terrorists and murders out there to keep your income flowing."

Skobra was suspicious. He wasn't entirely sure what his enemy was playing at, but he did not intend to be fooled by any of the miralukan's silver tongued speech.

"Perhaps. We will do what we can to keep our organization alive. But that is our business. "

Skobra slowly and calmly approached Remiel. Motioning for Kal to come out of the rocks, he took out a pair of cuffs.

Kal slowl walked forward, keeping his twin blasters trained on Remiel.

"You are a fool if you think you can buy us out Remiel. We accepted a contract on you and we won't break it."

Remiel's smile slowly faded away as the two bounty hunters drew nearer. Pulling the grenade from his coat pocket, he spun the small, metallic orb around in his left hand. Keeping one eye on the pin and using his peripheral vision to keep an eye on both of the approaching hunters, Remiel slowly backed up toward the speeder.

"Now then, don't move. If either of you move, you'll get a body full of shrapnel before you can scream 'stop'."

Leaving his blaster behind, Remiel took one step. Then two. Then he paused. Once again, he was smiling. This time, however, it was not a warm, inviting smile; this smile hinted of a malicious sadism that lay deep within his soul. A hatred - no, a loathing of his enemies was obviously present.

"The bounty was for Alsakan officers captured alive, right gentlemen? Well, if either of you even attempt to pull your blaster triggers or get close to me, you'll just be left with one bloodied corpse," still smiling, Remiel drew one of his concealed combat knives and pointed it at his chest, the steel-alloy tip resting on the fabric of his clothing. "Get the point?"

Skobra was angry. He had no intention of causing harm to his quarry, and had the miralukan cooperated, he might have even tried to keep the republic from killing him. But now he would give no such help. He would take Remiel alive, as was his rule, but he would not bother bargaining for his life. "Kal, what do we do?" As much as Skobra considered himself a skilled hunter, this time he was at a loss.

"Well, actually we could bring you in dead, and DNA will prove you to be who you are...we just won't get as much money. But, I guess we are just going to let you go."

Kal stood still, his face not betraying the blatant lie he had just told. He had a speeder out a bit that was wired to the beacon he had thrown onto Remiel's speeder. As soon as Remiel's started moving Kal's would intercept it on autopilot. All he had to do was program it to stop in front of Remiel's to stop him. Fortunatley Remiel would need to put the grenade away to drive so he wouldn't have to worry about that. And even so it should be flung free upon impact anyway.

"Perhaps. But there's no honor in your work. Credits make your world go 'round. I will assume you would do everything you can to capture me alive," Remiel spat. He figured that he had captured his opponents between a rock and a hard place; there was no other option but to let him leave. Taking several more steps toward the speeder, Remiel grimaced at the thought of his escape. Was there a reason they were letting him go...?

"Fine. Enough of your games," Remiel sighed. Taking the knife away from his chest, he returned the weapon to its hidden sheath underneath his overcoat. Wiping the sweat from his brow, Remiel sat down in the sand, his back leaning against the speeder.

"I'll be seeing you both soon enough, don't worry," he muttered to himself. With a flick of his wrist, Remiel removed the pin from his grenade and threw it into their midst.

Skobra saw it coming. "Kal, incoming grenade!" Skobra ran, taking long strides to get away from the explosion. He could only hope Kal would do the same. Kriff on Remiel Skobra thought angrily He's a coward and a liar.

((Don't take this personally, JM76. I only mean it on your character, and only from skobra's POV))

Kal eyed the grenade. Mer-sonn Alpah line class 3 thermal detonator. 4 second fuse after pin was pulled which would give him about three more seconds untill it exploded. Kal pulled back his leg and gave the small sphere a mighty kick that sent it flying off into the dessert where it exploded in midair.

He tapped the code on his datapad and the speeder parked behind the rocks started up and flew after Remiel.

Kal turned to Skorba, competley unflusttered. "You got a speeder nearby or what?"

Skobra thought for a moment, then replied, "Actually, I do. It was a long way from the nearest city to this place, so I needed one. It has four seats. Should work for all needed purposes."

{{Well, Remiel just sat there after he threw the grenade because he was prepared to surrender; he didn't flee. But if you insist...}}

Remiel had climbed into the speeder while the two bounty hunters were preparing to avoid the grenade he had thrown. Though he was reluctant to escape, it seemed he had no other choice in the matter. Revving the engine, Remiel gripped the steering module as his vehicle propelled itself across the sandy dunes. The Miraluka peered into the rear-view mirror and noted that, even though the bounty hunters were still on foot, there was a speeder pursuing him.

Turning his attention back to his driving, Remiel diverted his speeder's course due east; he would head toward the closest city and meet up with more TSG units that would escort him to the city's hangar. After leaving the planet behind, he would return to Alsakan to meet up with his superiors and remain under their protection.

"This is Skull Two," Remiel muttered into his comlink. "Requesting escort and pickup. Meet me at the city of Do-Mira. Be wary, there are bounty hunters and their ilk in the area."

"Right, boss," the TSG agent called from the opposite end of the comlink. "We'll be waiting."

"I'm driving."

Kal jumped into the speeder and barley waiting for Skorba to get in gunned the engine. The speeder took off flying. Kal positioned himself behind the speeder of his that was traling Remiel, riding in its slipstream.
"Allright, hold on."

The speeder picked up speed since there was much less wind resitance then Kal pulled what was called a "slingshot". Using the other speeder slip to speed himself up he whipped around it at even higher speeds and brought himself behind Remiel's speeder. He flicked the switch for the radio jammer and then grabbed one pistol, "Try to shoot out the engine." He yelled at Skorba over the roaring wind.

He himself fired off three shots, one of them going far wide.

Skobra nodded and took the gun controls. He sent a volley of fire around different areas of Remiel's speeder, hoping to confuse him, then he sent a relatively silent blast at the engine. He hoped it would work. He and Kal would be hard pressed to fight the entire skeleton guard.

{{OOC: Do you guys know about Remiel's relationship to the TSG? I never mentioned it and assumed you all thought he was just a Alsakan officer. Second, I have no clue how you'd silence a blast from a speeder.}}

Remiel was well aware that another speeder was picking up speed behind him. Watching the rear view mirror with great interest, he took his last grenade and threw it behind him, into the passenger's seat of the bounty hunters' speeder. Accelerating, he watched the blaster shots fire around him and had to turn at a forty-five degree angle to avoid Kal's last shot.

Gracefully driving through Skobra's flurry of laser shots, Remiel barely took notice to the last shot; the shot that damaged his left engine. As the vehicle struggled to remain airborne, Remiel barely attempted to keep control of the vehicle. Flying over a large dune, Remiel leapt out of the craft and collided with the desert sand while his vehicle crashed headlong into another dune.

Brandishing the blaster pistol he had taken from the vehicle's glove compartment, Remiel reloaded his weapon's battery in preparation for the hunters' arrival.

((Sorry. I'll edit it if need be. Out of curiosity, how many grenades do you have?))
"We got the speeder. Pull up!"

Skobra drew his blasters, ready for a fight.

((Sankai I am taking a little liberty with your character here, I figure we are allies and I am actually saving you so you shouldn't have a problem, but if you do I will change it.))

Kal turned when he heard something ping on metal. He saw the grenade laying there. His eyes widend, it wasn't the same as the last one, this was a Mer-Sonn deluxe P-32 model, with only a three second fuse which meant that........

Kal put on hand on the rim of the speeder and using one leg kicked Skorba on the shoulder, knocking him out of the speeder before jumping himself. He hit the ground rolling, the speeder blowing up in a large explosion just a split second later. Kal put his hands over his head to shield himself from the shrapnel.

He bounded up, and upon seeing Remiel reached for his pistols.
STANG! One of them was missing. Kal saw it in the sand, twenty feet from where he was, too far to try and get it without being shot, plus he didn't know how many more grenades this guy had.

((That's fine. You can save my life anytime.))

Skobra leaped into the air, and executing a quick roll to duck below any incoming blaster fire, picked up Kal's pistol and threw it to him. Then he sent a barrage of bolts in Remiel's direction.
