The Dishoam Order

Sorry about the lateness, as per usual. On to business...

Firstly, funding seems a little...weak for a religious order that actually takes an active role in the galaxy. For middle-age europe, the Church being a superpower was a simple thing, because everyone pretty much followed the same religions unanimously in europe in the period, so iit conveniently sat above even royalty. For a church-type faction to be financially independant, it would have to rely on more than donations to survive, especially considering the active role this church has in the galaxy.

Secondly - lightsabers are in their incredibly early stage at this point. How on earth would an order that apparently does not have and never had any ties to the Jedi learn to utilize these weapons in battle without the teachings of the Jedi? Then again, we've had the undead, i've got wizards...ah screw it, go nuts.

Fix the funding and you're in business.

That's great, now I just need to think about a better way of obtaining funding. Any ideas anyone? Take a pro-active role in the Dishoam order.

Well, perhaps these assassins could...go around the order's laws a little...pile and scavange the bodies of their opponents. It sounds weak too, but it's something else more...hm...sorry. ^^;

Well, this is very well built, though it's based, as Ols said, on a hypocrisy. But it's cool, I dig that. Though I wouldn't join...seems a little too religious to me. :X

I don't plan on having any of the order being able to leave Iziz anytime soon, but I'm thinking that the order may need to start a bit of Piracy.

We are active again by the way, now that I have this college/Highschool stuff out of the way and don't need to devote my life to obtaining Diplomas. My lack of being active made the order dead. Anyone who wishes to be active please tell me now, so I can get decent updates to the order.

Since Onderon split from the republic, I was actually thinking about making a deal with Onderon for our little faction to be there anti Jedi soldiers in combat. I wonder If I could make this work. Anyone one else think this is a good idea?

Sounds good to me. And since there are assassins in this faction, how about the fund come from the assassins completed contract? Granted the assassin gets no money, it betters his church. Therefore he should be greatful for that. I don't know. Just an idea. I might join as well...

Sounds like a fair idea. I'm not quite sure how the order will be able to get off of Onderon yet, but I'm working on it. I actually think it is better that we start the faction on a small scale, so as not to be to such a minute force in a galaxy full of factions.

Hmm my charie could go off on an assassination. Having to actually rp for our funds sounds pretty awesome.

Well, since we don't have any sub forums I guess this is where we work on anything. Who are we going to side with in this little war. The republic seems the logical Idea at first, since it's a galactic superpower that us Metagamers know will survive. But with current information, we know that Onderon is not a member of the republic, and that is where we keep out base of operatinos. However if they decide to indeed work with the Alsakans, we may be a little screwed as their religious members might not agree with the Dishoam Teachings and refuse to allow our Mercenary Corp to work with them.

I decided to utilize our trained assassins and run them off as a Mercenary corp, as we need a way of producing funds. I hope no one is against the idea, and quite frankly I don't think it matters. That's the bennefit of being the leader of the faction, I do what is neccesary for our survival.

Albeit we don't have many members yet, I hope we rise up eventually however. We all start small.

Another Update to the Initial description on Page one. Unless we manage to get our own sub board, I don't think I'll be updating much more any time soon. Though I am looking for an assistant to help me run this, as Phace is hardly ever on.

No worries mate, I was taking my little vacation as well. Save Vincent, the entire order has been AWOL for quite some time. I'm sure we will be able to manage to bring the order into the spotlight with a bit of hard work and patience.
