Poke poke Poke*

the galaxy is already ready to be moving on......

by my count it's a Hutt move.

just to sorta reaffirm a few things as it relates to the only two battles held up:

Few thing that HAS to be known OOC now for the Republic forces on the ground:

IC'ly even if they are not being bombed. The sounds of the temple, and distant bombing would most certainly be known by now.

The fact Boli blew it and the Jedi emergency evacuated with " what they could" would not.

Should the forces decide to bug out:

The Republic fleet pulled away from the planet quite a distance to engage the Hutt forces head on: This allowed both the JAde Armada, as well as the bogan fleets to take up positions BEHIND the republic in a triangle cage or " noose" that is getting tighter and tighter now.

Any craft hoping to return TO the Republic fleet would have to pass fairly open space that is at the rear of both fleets ( as they are pretty much past the planet as well now" and pass BETWEEN the Bogan and Jade Fleets for a time before approaching their fleet in the center of the Noose.

Trade lines leading in and out of Hutt space on any decent vector are now blockaded in a chain series, and the Republic also recently lost a big chunk of space too.

Escaping at this point means " fighting through chains of blockades " or having to make micro jumps deeper into Hutt space to try to guess how to do so with minimal " face time" to re-calculate.
( granted the republic fleet would have to punch through a line to get a clear jump vector)

these are important to note, however unknown IC'ly unless in direct communication ( which is unclear considering the heavy EM use planet side) or ships enter orbit.

Since Gambler's slow lately, I'm transferring command to Falcon. It's up to him whether or not this takes place IC or OOC- if it's OOC we'll assume that Sicarius is giving commands, if it's IC we'll assume that communications have been lost from the command ship, and Falcon would be the ranking Admiral so he'd take control. If there's any changes we'll figure it out via MSN.

Well, if the Republic plan to flee, they might want to do it while they still have a fleet left.

EDIT: In curiousity, what will we do with the Jedi/Republic still planetside? Kill them (which I'm guessing Bogan writers are for)? Capture them (which I'm guessing Jedi and Republic writers are for)?

What forces are left on the ground would have one offer from the Empire to surrender- these would be taken prisoner. The rest would be killed. This goes for any vessels that get captured/stranded.

There is no way for the republic fleet to escape right now because of the noose, they cant get a jump vector . So their options are

Try and break through the Hutts in front of them and hope they dont hit the blockades ( which most of the ways out of Hutt Space are blockaded because of this reason

Fight to the last ( which again given the formation wont take long)

Surrender

the ground has three options ( granted they came in drop ships)

Try and make it to the trapped fleet and hope to not be slaughtered while passing between enemy fleets.

Keep fighting and hope the bombers don't hit the base ( which the bombers WILL hit it...but time frame why they are still occupied with the Temple ruins and surrounding area, Base would be a last wave/post battle thing to mop up )

Surrender

Actually the drop ships we used do have capabilities for short hyperspace jumps...just sayin.

Also, how many ships are part of the blockades on the various hyperspace routes?

They can't jump in the planet's gravity well though, so they'd have a hell of a trip to get out of it.

As for the how many ships, lots. You're in between two capital areas of the Empire, so forces centered in Malastare and Bothawui can take part.

I was not sure thats why I speculated, and asked, as usually drop ships require fleet support. some dont..

this is assuming the Republic noticed the bombers in the distance ( which I THINK they would just by sound even if the snow and ice muffled it, or by smoke pouring into the sky.

as for whats blockading, were looking at a series of them like " gates" or roadblocks in a series along the fastest and " most direct" ways out... Some are interdictor, some would be a fleet size sitting there large enough to throw shadows. Or are sitting in areas on alert where planet wills force a natural drop.

this is not factoring in what " if" any ships separate from the orbit battle to give chase

I know on my side, not many more than 25 or so sitting around Falleen routes I have no clue what the Hutts would have, but given how deep we are, and how near a few major outposts I'd assume quite alot.

perhaps the safest way out would be the route the Jedi and SOLAG took, but that would be harder in clearly marked republic craft considering the path is not main lines so it requires alot more drop in, and outs to calculate.

Not to say nobody could get out, but it's for sure tougher

so thats sorta the lay out in a nut shell... I have no idea what the hutts have or do, Im pretty maxed out between this battle group and my reserves so on MY end not a great many (jade)

Believe it or not Im actually pretty nuteral on this whole matter so Im doing my damndist to " keep tabs" on different things and no interest in doing anything more other than observe from an ooc point.

I don't think the Hutt's understand that until they're buddies catch up, I have them outnumbered and outgunned.

I'll have a post up soon, but I'm really busy atm.

Can't you people just have a fun, exciting battle without squabbling over so many BS little details?

The Republic's going to come out on top when it's all said and done, anyway.
