Hauldus, Katyen of the Akegata, stood in one of the training rooms. He had spread the chalk upon the floor, as was tradition, and was ready for his nameless trainee. He stood in the centre, in the one area free of the white powder. He brushed a hand through his blonde hair, the red lining of his long black coat flashing briefly. He looked at his necklace, a red stone shaped like a teardrop attatched to a black leather choker. It lay atop the black shirt beneath.

Cassarah, the nameless, walked into the training room. She was eager to start her training, but also slightly scared. She walked up to the circle, but did not enter. She was not sure if that was aloud at her position. There were so many traditions that she did not know.

Hauldus smiled. She realised stepping within the circle was forbidden for Akegata. ''I am Hauldus, a Katyen of the Akegata. I shall train you. First, our code.'' Hauldus closed his eyes, whispering the mantra.

''We are nameless, naught but shadow;
We do our work for shadow, we are the watcher in the night;
We are an unknown power, the blade in the shadows;
We are Akegata.''

He opened his eyes again. ''You must whisper that before a planeed kill, or during combat. It helps with focus. First, I shall teach you two very important powers: Push and Pull. Combinations of these are very useful for long range assassination.'' He picked up two black spheres, the size of a fist. ''On the sphere in my right hand, lift and push it away. On the one in my left, lift and pull it.''

Cassarah listened to Hauldus explain her first task and it seemed relatively easy. She was mistaken though. She had not done a exercise like this in many years and it seemed that the Force had turned its back on her, but she was wrong.

She focused on the sphere is his right hand first. Her own right hand started to move upward and the ball moved with it. Even though her eyes were closed she knew it was moving up. She then focused on pushing it forward. Her hand moved forward only slightly and the sphere pushed away from his right hand. She smiled to herself and put it back in his right hand.

Next came his left hand. She was suppose to lift it and pull it. She, again, focused on the little black sphere and raised it with her hand. This time she called the sphere to her through the force and it landed softly in her hand.

She silently looked up and Hauldus and waited for what came next.

''Excellent. Now do them both at once.'' Hauldus replied. Most that came to train would not have done that first time. This nameless would go far...

She could tell that he was impressed and she knew that the Jedi had done something right. She knew some of the basic powers, but that was about it. She would never admit to anyone here that she used to be a Jedi though. They had secrets and so did she.

Letting her mind travel back to the task at hand. She had never been able to move two objects at the same time when she was younger, but she had grown older and learned how to concentrate better.

The little black sphere was still in her hand and the other was settled in his left hand. In her mind she could see what she had to do. Send the one in her right hand to his and pull his to her left hand. Both the spheres rose in the air at the same time, but when his flew to her left hand the other just fell back into her right.

This frustrated her. It was such an easy task and yet she could not do it. She hoped that perhaps Hauldus would have some helpful direction for her, if he was allowed to give any.

''Remember to focus. As you do the task, repeat the code.'' Hauldus helped. He pulled the sphere back to his left hand. ''Again.''

Cassarah nodded, but the truth was that she had not memorized the code in the one time that he had recited it. She did, however, concentrate on the spheres again.

She lifted her hands and both the spheres lifted through the air. She called the one his hand to her at the same time she nudged the one in her hand to fly toward him.

It felt weird having her mind deligating to tasks, but she managed to do it the second time.

She looked up and her green eyes met his. She had done it without the help of the code, but he need not know that.

''Excellent. Now, another task.'' Hauldus took the spheres from her with the force, placing them in a box on the wall. From another box, he took two blue spheres. As they moved, they left a purple trail in the air, which faded. ''Now, i want you to take these, and use them to make a pattern in the air. Do not pick the pattern. Just guide them without thinking about where they will go.''

This sounded like something very odd to do for training, but she knew it would be vital to her work. The best way for Cassarah to lead them without focusing on the design was to close her eyes. She closed her eyes and found the blue spheres through the Force. They were easier to control because she did not have any set way for them to go like before.

She brought her hands up and started to move them around. In her mind's eye, she could see how the designs might look. She smiled as she moved her hands. This is quite exciting, she thought.

She decided that she was not going to stop until Hauldus told her to.

Hauldus watched the pattern, and copied it onto a datapad, pocketing it. ''Excellent, now, place the spheres back into their box. You have excellent control. As is custom, until i say, you must do all manual tasks through the force. Now, you must learn assassination techniques. Take this.'' Haulsus handed the girl a simple shortsword, and pulled a dummy from a hidden wall cavity, standing it before her. ''Show me where you would hit to kill someone instantly.''

Cassarah guided the spheres into their boxes with ease then took the short sword from him. She had never killed anyone so she was not entirely sure where the perfect spot would be. She did know that all the holodrama's she had seen usually went for the heart. She slowly brought the sword up and pointed the tip at the dummies 'heart'.

''That is one of the many.'' Hauldus replied. ''There are others, to remember. Kidneys, head, throat and this tiny gap by the collarbone, here.'' He pointed to each in turn. He pressed a button on the dummy. It emmitted a rythmic beep noise. ''This will detect you if you are sloppy. Sneak up from behind, and stab those areas. The faster it beeps, the closer to detection you are. You must keep the beeping sounding like it is now. Anything else is unnaceptable.'' He crossed his arms, waiting.

Cassarah looked at him like he was crazy, which she was starting to think he was, and walked behind the dummy. It had continued its normal beeping and she was kinda scared to find out what Hauldus would do if she was detected.

She decided to go the right kidney first since it was in the back and easier to reach. She slowly crept up on the dummy and stabbed it hard in the right kidney before it could beep rapidly.

She looked over at Hauldus, trying to keep her smug expression suppressed.

''Just too high.'' The dummy discharged a small electric jolt rhough the sword, with it's metal handle. He indicated for her to move away, and reset the dummy. It began to bleep again. ''Try again. In our jobs, we must be perfect.''

Cassarah narrowed her eyes and glowered at him. She knew where the kidney was and she was almost positive that she had got it. Obviously not, she thought bitterly.

She again approached the dummy, but this time she went for the throat. She came behind him so fast, with the help of the Force, and cut a clean line across his throat.

The beeps stopped, and Hauldus nodded. ''A good, clean cut, worthy of the Akegata. Now you just have to do the rest.'' Through the force, he hit the reset button, the dummy again emmiting a rythmic beep.

She nodded toward Hauldus. She was going to try for the kidneys again. Instead of just walking up behind him and stabbing it, she spun once then sliced at the kidney. She loved being flexible and able to do things people wished they would do. She would show Hauldus all her abilities sooner or later, but her spin was just one.

The stab was perfect. ''Excellent bladework. The spin wasn't needed however. That would draw the attention of others, or the target. Evasive maneauvers are to be used in combat or when extracting yourself from a kill area. Only three more now. I'll up the sensitivity.''

Cassarah nodded and went back to her position. She was going to go for the head this time. She had always heard that the spot where your head connected to your neck was one of the best areas to strike and kill.

She walked up slowly, the beeping soft, and drove her blade upward into his skull.
