The Newcomers

Ray had been laying in her bed, next to her boyfriend Adun, and was staring at the ceiling. The was kept awake by the two beings she could sense growing in her stomach. Sometimes she thought she could sense how they were feeling, and it made her calm and happy. Whenever Ray was in a bad mood she could feel her children in pain. It was as if her emotions were tied to them, and vice versa. But now lately their very presence was so powerful she couldn't sleep. This wasn't the first night though, the only way she could pass time during these nights was to meditate. It helped a lot.

Today was different from her usual sleepless nights, cramping started to set in, and it hurt. Badly. But Ray was a tough woman, she could mostly certainly take it. She came to a realization that immediately got her heart pumping. It's coming. She knew the cramps indicated she was going into labour. It had been 5 months, the usual amount of time for her species. She lifted herself up with her elbows and rubbed her bloated belly, then she looked at Adun, who was fast asleep, Do I wake him?

She shook him on the shoulder with her hand and quietly whispered,"Adun? Adun?"

[Algarus]

Adun was in the middle of a dream when something shook him out of his slumber. "Adun? Adun?" He could hear Rayla's panicked voice as he slowly turned to look at her. He was still half asleep, and usually she had been waking him at night; but not like this. Usually she would get up to satisfy her hunger cravings this late, but she never bothered to wake him up. He blinked away the fatigue in his eyes as he looked at her. "Hey Ray.... What's wrong?" He asked, still tired

 

[Tristyn]

"I think it's happening! Please get up! We have to go! NOW!", she stopped shaking him and got off the bed to put on her shoes,"I think the babies are coming!"

 

[Algarus]

He smiled and set his head back on the pillow not registering what she said at first. "Oh...thats nice...Ray...the babies are coming...." He sprung out of bed a moment later, his eyes wide. "The babies are coming?!?" He tripped over something in the dark and hit the lights. He threw on clothes as quick as he could and covered Rayla with her robes. "Okay, Okay lets go!" His mind was racing. He knew this day would come, but for it to actually be here.

 

[Tristyn]

She was happy to see him awake and ready to go and let out a little giggle,"Well...I think they're coming..I'm not sure" She tightened her night robe a bit more and walked next to Adun and out into the hallways of the ship,"I can sense it somehow"

 

[Algarus]

Adun held her hand and quickly paced down the corridor. "Let's just get there as soon as we can okay? I don't want anything happening."

 

[Tristyn]

"This is pretty exciting!", she smiled gleefully at the few amount of people still awake on the ship, mostly just guards and random people. She pulled out a comlink that she managed to pick before she left,"Excuse me, is the doctor awake?" She heard a medical droid answer "Doctor Malorez is unavailable at the moment. How may I help you?"

"Oh no...I'm just giving birth"

"We have medical droids on stand by to help you once you arrive"

"Thanks!"

 

[Algarus]

Adun looked at Rayla slightly concerned. "A-are you sure about this? I thought you didn't trust the droids...."

 

[Tristyn]

"The doc is asleep - what else can we do?", she turned the comlink off and they soon arrived at the clinic once again,"Here we are, again " She looked at a hovering droid, who performed the operations and then at another droid, who acted as the assistant,"Hay you, I think I'm giving-" She clenched her stomach as another round of cramps started to set in. She was able to hold her groan in, but she didn't know for how long.

"Alright miss Umari, please come with me to the operating table"

 

[Algarus]

Adun frowned and helped Rayla to the table. Despite his best attempts, he was panicking. "Are you going to be okay Ray? Do you need sedatives, or something to dull the pain?"

 

[Tristyn]

Ray got up onto with the help of both Adun and one of the medical droids. She smiled at Adun's loss of sanity, she found it quite cute,"I'm fine nothing I can't-" She grunted again the pain was becoming worse,"...handle" The droid began to tap some buttons on a small datapad,"We are going to initialise a scan to see if you are ready" She groaned again,"G-go ahead"

 

[Algarus]

Adun stood to the side of the table and held Ray's hand tightly. He was sweating, but he didn't know why. "Are you sure your alright?" he asked again.

 

[Tristyn]

She smiled and held onto his hand,"I'm fine...but I why are you worried? I'm the one who is in pain. Not you"

 

[Algarus]

Adun frowned slightly and squeezed her hand back. Did Rayla not know the risks that came with childbirth? He hated seeing her in pain like this, and if something went wrong she could easily bleed to death. He smiled at her. "Because I love you."

 

[Tristyn]

She smiled and reached out to kiss him,"I love you too" The medical droid finished up the scan,"you have indeed entered labour. You are already dialated at 4 centimeters. We will start making preparations for childbirth" The droid and it's assistant helped her to get into position and allowed her to get comfortable while they got their tools ready and notified some of the other doctors who were still awake and ready. Ray yawned and adjusted her pillow that the droid had just given her,"Good thing this is finally gonna happen. My back's killing me. Lugging around two unborn children really takes a toll on you" She closed her eyes and rubbed her belly and soon after grunted from some more painful cramps,"I hope this happens fast"

 

[Rae Anne Jarrus]

Maia had been notified of Rayla giving birth. Adun had commed her letting her know about it that it was going to happen that night, and she got dressed quickly, heading to the clinic she sensed they were in. Once she got there, a droid stopped her asking where she was going. "My friend is giving birth." She responded to the questioning droid and hoped it would let her through. Well, it did and she smiled heading to the room she was instructed to where the birth was happening. Once she got over to there, there was a window that she looked in to and saw Adun and Rayla who was in pain. Maia then saw a doctor coming towards her and he asked if she wanted to see the birth and she nodded. The doctor smiled and led her inside with him. She looked up at Adun and smiled. "I came as quick as I could."

 

[Algarus]

Adun looked toward Maia and breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks Maia. I'm really glad your here." Having her here would help him calm down a little, it was nice knowing he wasn't all alone in here with Rayla and a droid. He looked down at Ray. "Maia's here."

 

[Tristyn]

Ray smiled, opened her eyes and turned her head to look at them both,"Hay Maia, glad you're here! Now you get to see me scream in pain and pull off Adun's arm while giving birth to two little demon babies. I hope you brought a camera" She grunted a bit more from continuing cramps. The droid responded to Ray and checked the scanner again,"Hmm...you are dilating unusually fast. It seems my programming hasn't prepared me for togruta childbirth"

 

[Rae Anne Jarrus]

Maia walked over to Adun and Rayla her hands on her hips. "No problem Adun." She said calmly. She sensed he was stiff and she gave him a reassuring smile as she then looked over to Rayla. "Hi Rayla. Believe me, you'll be fine. On the other hand, I did bring my dataphone to take a picture of the babies. I can hold your other hand if you like?" She offered kindly.

 

[Tristyn]

"Yes please", Ray answered, sounding all innocent. She gripped Maia's hand tightly just as some more cramps set in. She groaned even louder squeezed both their hands tightly. The droid strangely wasn't doing anything though. If Ray had noticed she would've killed it right now, but for now she was just bearing through the pain,"Ow! Ow! Ow!" , she constantly repeated. She was starting to breath much faster now, but still managed not to wake the whole ship up. It really hurted but she did her best to contain it.
