The Newcomers

[Algarus]

Adun smiled and rocked his bundle gently. "To be honest, I'm terrified. I've never had a single father figure in my life. I don't know how to be a dad."

 

[Rae Anne Jarrus]

Maia smiled. "It's ok. Ray and I can help. I never exactly had a father either, but my master was very caring. I may not now anything about parenting, but I can definitely help you." She whispered to him.

 

[Algarus]

Adun looked up at Maia. He had alot of worries and thought on his mind right now, but this....this was going to be a happy moment, so he pushed those thoughts away. "Thanks Maia. You've been a great friend. I can't thank you enough."

 

[Rae Anne Jarrus]

She returned his look and smiled. "Your welcome." She smiled again as she looked back to the little Tamara.

 

[Algarus]

"I told Ray this already. But I'm thinking of leaving the order after all this is done." He looked down at his son and smiled bitterly. "Nothing official, I just want to help people in need. But that might conflict with the interests of the order. It's not what I thought it was, and my reasons for joining in the first place are gone. Still, I just thought you should know."

Maia nodded in understanding practically agreeing with what he said. "I may do the same thing. The Order is changing very much and I'm not thinking the future of it is going to be good. So if we have to stick together, it's what we will do."

 

[Algarus]

Adun frowned and set his son down beside Ray. "The jedi are also going to be called to keep the peace if the Republic wins this conflict. And if we lose...." He sighed and looked up at her. "Well you know. Either way. Once this war is done, the order won't be the same."

 

[Rae Anne Jarrus]

Maia nodded. "I know. But we can't risk dying now that we have the children. I can't risk having you or Rayla die when you have Tamara and Cain. I mean, I can take care of them, but what would happen if they got me too?? They wouldnt have anyone to take care of them."

 

[Algarus]

Adun sighed at that. He hadn't forgotten about that key fact. He didn't plan on dying with his family to take care of, but death was something you could never plan for. If it did happen though..... "I know. I don't want to die on them...but I'll do what I have to if it means they get to live a peaceful life."

 

[Rae Anne Jarrus]

Maia walked over to Adun, putting the baby girl, Tamara in her left arm, holding her so she wouldn't fall and gave Adun a hug. "I understand. And, I'll help you all the way."

 

[Algarus]

Adun smiled faintly and returned the hug. It was comforting knowing that Maia would be there for his family. "If anything happens to me though.... Just please watch out for Ray and the kids."

Maia smiled. "I promise I will. And I won't ever give up on them." She said feeling him return the hug.

 

[Algarus]

Adun sighed and pulled away. "Thank you." He looked down at his daughter and smiled. "I'm going to take a nap. That surgery took a lot out of me." He looked up at Maia before sitting beside Ray's bed.

Maia smiled. "Your welcome." She responded. When he looked at the baby girl in her arms, she smiled again. "Yes, you get some rest. Is there a place I can put the little ones?" She asked wondering if he wanted both of them there. "Or do you want me to take care of them for the night?" She offered.
