Ben flew all the way into the back of the room, dropping his lightsaber. Was that the Pushing Slash? He asked in surprise before standing up.

"It is indeed, a crucial part of Niman combat," Kalza said, happy her padawan knew the correct term for the manoeuvre. "Now, you try," She said, igniting her lightsaber and charging for Ben all of a sudden.

Ben sighed, then concentrated and looked at the charging Jedi Knight. After igniting his green training lightsaber, he immediately employed Force Push to her direction, then made a sideways slash from leg to shoulder.

Kalza knocked the slash back and attacked with one of her own, but she felt herself being pushed backwards so the slice missed her padawan completely. She immediately got back into a defensive position, looking at Ben directly into his eyes.

Ben gave an intriguing smile. After a short pause he attacked again, using the Pushing Slash again, hoping to execute it perfectly. This time he made a straight head-to-feet slash, as if to cut in half.

Kalza was ready this time, deflecting the slash and pushing forward and attacking with her own, similar manoeuvre but this time aimed to the side of her padawan.

Ben quickly moved his lightsaber to block the slash from the side, and suddenly, with the help of the Force, he raised his leg and kicked the Jedi Knight in the face.

Kalza ducked down, sliding underneath Ben as he jumped. The kick almost hit her lekku - which would have killed her. As he landed, she re-ignited her lightsaber, the blade hovering near his neck. "Dead," She said simply, twirling it and putting it away. "And do not be so aggressive, this is merely a duel," She added, rubbing the top of her head.

Ben let out a deep breath. Sorry, I got carried off and excited... He deactivated his lightsaber. I also feel that my fighting is too aggressive. What should I do about it?

"Hmmm..." Kalza said, thinking for a moment. "There are lightsaber forms that can channel your aggression, like Juyo or Djem So..." She said after a moment. "But you must remain calm whilst you fight,"

Ben nodded. Right. I understand. I promise this will not happen again.

"Now, do you want to move onto learning some force abilities?" Kalza asked, smiling and pretending the previous conversation had never happened.

Um, yes, I would be happy to learn anything you can teach me. Ben spoke, still embarrassed from the previous conversation.

"Very well, before we proceed... what type of Jedi to see yourself as? A Consular, a Guardian, a Sentinel...?" Kalza asked abruptly, remembering she had forgotten this part of his training earlier on as they were so engrossed in lightsaber training.

OOC: Isn't Guardian and Sentinel pretty much the same?

IC: Ben gave it some thought. Perhaps I'm more of a Guardian... or a Sentinel... or maybe something in between. I can't really decide now.

OOC: No, Sentinel is more a mix of Consular and Guardian, Guardian is more 'active' (Obi-Wan, etc.)

Kalza nodded. "A Guardian? You seem very... skilled at the blade. And ready to take action," She said slowly, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

So maybe I should be a Guardian then? Ben spoke, with uncertainty in his eyes.

"Would you like to explain the three main 'classes' of Jedi?" Kalza asked with a little smile.

Ben got embarrassed once again. Urm... well... I'm not exactly familiar with them. He said and sighed.

"Don't worry, it's why I am the master and you the padawan," Kalza said with a reassuring smile, all the while beginning to recount the three main branches of the Jedi. When she recited them, it in an almost robotic 'text-book' voice. "First of all, the Consular. Led by the Council of Reconciliation, the Consulars seek diplomatic measures in spreading peace and harmony across the Galactic Republic. Refraining from drawing their lightsabers except as a measure of last resort, Consulars spend a great deal of time studying the mysteries of the Force. They act as healers, diplomats, seers, librarians..." She explained, thinking about her own time as a Consular. Deeming that particular overview efficient, she moved on, thinking about the role of the Jedi Sentinel.

"Next, the Sentinels. While studying all of the traditional techniques and abilities that make the Jedi who they are, the Sentinels of the Order find their isolation in the Jedi Temple to be a hindrance if they are expected to be able to work with the civilians of the galaxy. While adherents to the Force and all that it can do, Sentinels are not blinded by faith and realized that the mystical energy field does have its' limitations. Typically opting for missions requiring them to stay in a single place for long periods of time, the Sentinels take on assignments not suited to the other Jedi branches," she explained, thinking back to the various Sentinels she had worked with and met. Finally, she moved onto explaining the Guardians of the order.

Concentrating on martial training and combat, Guardians engage in combat more than either of the other two classes of Jedi; the Consulars or the Sentinels. Descended from the Order's founders on Tython whose role in the galaxy was to defend the weak and uphold the laws of the Galactic Republic, the Guardians are often seen as representative of the Order and the classic Jedi weapon: the lightsaber," she finished, having listed all of the three branches to a sufficient degree.

"In simplicity, if something they so desired was behind a door, a Consular would knock, a Sentinel would pick the lock and the Guardian would bash it down," Kalza added at the end with a tiny smile.
