In years gone, women and men - the Jedi, forged lines across the cityscape of Coruscant, and dragged history with them. They were still, with tranquil discourse setting their ways. They were in rough and trenches of metal, in manufactured jungles, in sprawling city, in urban shadows. They were always coming.
And in years long gone they stood at a knuckle of metropolis, and founded the Temple of the Jedi. Domes covered the peak as if a spume of lights had settled. They were above a grey world, while starships and districts and docklands specked the world below them and paid no heed. And they smiled, not cunning nor sated nor secure, but in peace, because they knew their plans were holy. That they had assembled a legacy.

'Others too, in far-flung worlds, will no doubt be gazing at these stars, that never ask which watcher claims the night....loud on the unseen mountain wind, a geejaw's cry quivers in the heart, and somewhere a branch lets one leaf fall'. - Master Yoolam Twei

Hamara inspected the ancient proverb again. She set it to memory and glanced up from her studies to the vista of Coruscant beyond the archive windows. Afternoon had, in its descending transit, saluted the crepuscule which had evanesced swiftly into night. The young Padawan had been in the Order's athenaeum for countless hours and her eyes had drawn hazy from her intensive reading. The morning's lectures on Jedi history and philosophy had resonated with her profoundly, so much so that she had spent the remainder of the day inundated in research.

Hamara1.jpg

She rested the most recent datapad on the table and murmured softly to herself in repetition "others too will no doubt be gazing at these stars". Hamara understood the words; that through the Force, everything was connected. Her soft chesnut eyes became transfixed with the evening sky as she uttered the old Master's sagacious words. Even through the blanket of light pollution radiating from the planet, the stars were ever constant.
The night beyond those windows, captured in nocturnal panorama, seemed to Hamara an abyssal sea; the Coruscant moons like obese and luminescent Opee Sea Killers sinking to the pelagic depths in a play of celestial surf. Stars breached beckoning waves and bled their coagulating light across the watery membrane of its surface. The sky seemed an ocean.
She wondered then where her contemporary Padawan learners were; with their Masters perhaps, at training or lectures or meditation, beyond the pane of glass on assignment in the city below.
Hamara decided she should eat, having brushed past lunch in favour of research, her stomach moaned in disapproval. Rising from her archive table she gathered the various datapads and progressively returned them to their respected abodes amidst the shelves.
Departing from her most favoured sanctuary within the Temple, the intellectually satisfied Padawan embarked down the monumental hallways and atriums, aligned with the copious relics of Jedi history, pacing toward the refectory for the evening meal...

Darn it!!!

Kaz yelled when his lightsaber just couldnt stay together.

Kaz'aia Porka is a blue skinned male Twi'lek who wears dark grey robes and black boots and black gloves. He is normally calm but now he is very angry because his lightsaber wont stay together.

''I should never have fought against those darn droids!'' He yelled as he tryed to put his cyan colored crystal in the hilt with the other crystal that was in there.

He had his lunch next to him getting cold because he had to get his lightsaber fixed before anyone finds out.
A broken lightsaber is like broken arm to him.

''Aw come on!!! Stay together you little piece of.....''

"Dude no, you're doing it wrong" -adviced a soft voice, yet loud enough to be heard from two tables ahead.

The voice owner was a gray skinned near human with two orange horns in its head, smooth facial features and soft looking skin. It was fine looking, and would have looked better if she didn't had a black eyepatch over her left eye, partially hid under a long black hair that grew wildly until almost reaching her hips on her back, and up the end of her chin on the face. She was wearing a simple sleeveless shirt with its adyacent hood falling on her back, both sharing the same color than that of the eyepatch. There was only a symbol recalling an M on the left side of her chest on the shirt, but other than that, the shirt was plain simple and monochrome. Food in front of her, both arms on the table, it became obvious her left arm was a robotic prosthetic, with nothing to hide it anymore. The arm looked simple from afar, but a closer look would reveal a finesse that had yet to reach the medical facilities of the galaxy. Every articulation in it had a precise and unique touch to resemble exactly that of the lost arm, rather than a regular prosthetic replace, it was a fine piece of art.

She never liked the Jedi Order much, but ever since CARD and Shade had allied themselves with the Republic and the Jedi Order she had no choice but to be more befriend them and act as one envoys of the Shade, in sign of good will and bluh bluh bluh. On the other hand, she was a walking library, always hungry for knowledge. There was no way she could lay down an opportunity to befriend the owners of one of the largest archives of information in the galaxy. Motives aside, the facts were that she had met the council, the council had met her and the others, they exchanged words, discussed, did their diplomacy with all points of view represented. Taa'Sho and her serious nature and position would have come really in handy in the meeting, but yeah, she was gone for good.

Anner rose up from her seat and rounded the table walking towards the Twi'lek, seemingly jaded by the lack of touch regarding devices. People could be so clumsy often... Amateurs. It was one of the few things that could make her get an attitude. As she walked towards Kaz the only thing in her outfit that made any noise, outside the regular footsteps made by her brown boots, was a lightsaber hilt hanging from a belt on her waist.

Wow

Kaz was suprised to see something like that.
So wierld looking species but then again he had never seen something like this female.
Kaz knew that he doesnt know his way around devices and that he needed help so he wasnt going to turn it down, but before he could even say anything the alien stood up and started walking towards him and at that moment her robotic hand caught his eye.

(Wow never seen an actual robotic hand) He thought in his head as the odd humanoid got closer to him.

The prodigious corridors of the Jedi Temple were generally in a capacity of reticence during the evening hours. Hamara was surrounded by the echoes of her own footfalls upon marble and alabaster. There was an unparalleled tranquility that was the very essence of the Jedi philosophy.
Yet as she turned a corner in the junction that paved its glorious way toward the Temple's dining hall, past the bronzium archaic statues of the Jedi Masters of old, she could make out what would seem to be the shouts and dialogue of adolescent frustration coming from an anterior room to her left. The course of this frustration was, to say the least, unexpected at an hour such as this, and she felt she should investigate.
She traipsed calmly to the archway of the room and noticed a Twi'lek, a Padawan relatively close in age to her own. Hamara had seen him in lectures that she had attended earlier in the week but could not recall his name, nor had she been acquainted with him previously. With him was a female, which Hamara conjectured to be of the Vahla race; she had read about them briefly in the archives and had flicked through holographic images of their documentation. She had never seen one in person before, nor one with the bony outgrowths of deciduous horns as this one presented, perhaps she was a half-breed? The two occupants of the room piqued Hamara's curiousity nevertheless. She could see various contraptions, mechanical and tech equipment reserved for lightsaber construction, sprawled out across the room's central benchtop. A cyan crystal's light emanated from amidst the various components.
"I heard some commotion, is everything alright Padawan?", she sensed that the young Twi'lek man had been experiencing some chagrin concerning the assembly of his would-be lightsaber. "I see you are constructing your weapon...did your Master offer any assistance with its creation?", she knew that Masters were obliged to let their Jedi students construct their personal lightsaber in solitude, without instruction. It was a way for a Padawan to develop their sense of autonomy and self-ability as Jedi, a rite of passage in a sense. The lightsaber, after attunement with the Force, was the single most important thing to a Jedi, equal only to their life.
"Forgive the intrusion, I am Padawan Hamara Vesi...", she introduced herself to the Twi'lek and Vahla, hoping she had not interrupted their conversation.

Kaz turned to see who was talking to him and it was a human.

(I think I have seen her before....) He thought in his mind as he was trying to get something to come out of his mouth.

He suddenly rememberd his lightsaber that was in pieces, he had been trying to get his cyan colored crystal to in there with the other crystal Damind.
Damind is a crystal that he has in both of his lightsabers making the beam blades longer witch gives him an edge in a fight.

He looked at his broken lightsaber that he was trying to get fixed and thougth
(I swear I fixed this thing once why I cant do it again!?)

Then he remembered the human who introduced herself as Hamara Vesi.
''Hi Im Kaz'aia Porka Im just trying to get this darn thing fixed before any masters find out.''

Hamara moved into the room, nodding in respect to the Twi'lek Padawan and came closer to the benchtop to better gauge the lightsaber's multiple component parts. She had thought that Kaz'aia had been constructing his initiate lightsaber, but on the contrary he was attempting to repair it. "I see, what happened to cause your lightsaber to arrive at its current state?", she collected a couple of segments and inspected them closely, "can I offer any assistance? I know a few rudimentary things concerning our weapons...", she slowly and intricately clicked several tiny fragments of the lightsaber hilt together and glanced at Kaz with a genuine smile. She placed the joined pieces back down on the workstation and took a seat, "never fear, the Masters will not find out. Patience is the key my friend. Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting, but rather contemplatively waiting. To keep going when the going is difficult and slow", she found herself quoting the teachings of her earlier studies. She never usually gave guidance to her Padawan contemporaries, not wanting to sound arrogant or all-wise, but she could feel Kaz's growing grievance and wished to help assuage it as best she could. "I'm certain we have all the resources we need to bring your lightsaber back to life, but first, let go of your frustration... with a clear head you can achieve anything".

''Alright'' Kaz said and sarted to calm down, he was amazed how a human could easily fix something so complicated as his lightsaber.

''Just to let you know I dont have a master, he died during our last mission.''

Then Kaz collected all the pieces and looked at Hamara with a smile and asked ''Shall we?''

Hamara glanced at Kaz with a sense of somber acknowledgement, "I am sorry for your loss...the bond between a Master and their apprentice is something that can never truly be replaced". She herself had not had the honour of being assigned to a particular Master, instead she attended training, tutorials, and lectures given by the Temple's faculty of Jedi educators until an appropriate Master was revealed to her. She often wondered what life would be like under the direct tutelage and wisdom of a single Jedi Master. For now she could only be content and at peace with the plans that the Force, and the Jedi Temple had directed toward her.
Hamara focused her attention then to the task at hand, she gathered small pieces of the lightsaber debris and started fitting them together, much like puzzle-pieces, into a slowly shaping comprehensive form.
"I'm certain I have seen you in classes, have you been at the Temple for long? I was brought here when I was five, from Naboo, yet I still do not know every Padawan that lives here. There are so many now, and our numbers are always increasing", she offered him another gentle smile, trying to make light conversation so that the project in front of them was not too monotonous.

''I will never forget my master, thanks for your concern.'' Kaz said as he grabbed the cyan crystal.
Kaz'aia's master had died on their last mission on Dantooine a month ago.
They were investigating the deaths of some rich folks kids. The did find out that a gang of money hungry smuglers was behind it and when they were toying with theyre newest victim Kaz just coulndt take it.
He jumped on them with his cyan long lightsaber activated and killed the leader then he activated his other lightsaber witch was also long but deep blue, he charced at the battle droids that the smuglers had (During this fight his lightsaber broke but he kept it hidden) while his master also a Twi'lek but yellow dealt with the others and rescued the prisoner.
He had told Kaz to go back to the ship after the attack and Kaz did indeed go back to the ship but during this time his master had been assasninated. Kaz never recovered from this but he didnt let it bother him.
Back in the temple the council saw fit that Kaz should be on his own for a while.

Back in reality Kaz answered Hamaras question:
''I actully spend more time on the field than here at the temple. I usually work as extra security or deal with some criminals thanks to my combat skills.''
Kaz was sorta suprised that Hamara didnt know this, he was always the main gossip around the temple because he is never there.

Hamara had, in fact, heard through various conversations after lectures with other Padawans that there was a student who had taken to spending his time outside the Temple grounds, on numerous errands of unknown nature on the streets of Coruscant below. She couldn't imagine a life not close to the Temple archives, close to the innumerable documents of the Jedi. Hamara had always imagined and aspired to one day become one of the librarians or archivists for the Jedi Order. She knew that she would be required one day to venture beyond the seclusion of its hallowed walls, out into Coruscant and to alien star systems, wherever the Jedi were needed. She knew that through theory alone, she could not succeed as a Jedi. Practical experience was necessary for all of those within the Order.
"I had not realised...that is you that the others have been talking about? You have become quite the topic of conversation with your 'unconventional' ways", she continued grouping together fragments of the lighstaber, aligning them in relative size order. "I admit, I do not really take hearsay around the Temple as complete truth. No wonder your lightsaber is damaged, you must see quite a lot of action on the streets?".
She continued piecing little components of the hilt together and handing them to Kaz accordingly, "I was on my way to the refectory for dinner...perhaps after we repair your lightsaber you might join me for a meal? I would be interested to hear some of your stories", she offered him another smile, it was unusual that a Padawan so close to her age was off roaming the streets of Coruscant on missions rather than dedicated to theoretical studies. He seemed vastly different from her, but it was refreshing for a change.

''Why of course I hadnt had anyone to talk to when... 'he' died,''

Kaz said while looking at Hamarans hands work.
Kaz was a little embarrassed, he had never really met another padawan and never talked to a girl or a human for that matter he was never good at talking.

"I imagine you were very close to your Master? I have read that it is a terrible pulse in the Force when such a bond is shattered...when those who are our kin perish in battle", Hamara could feel Kaz's sadness and melancholy for the Jedi Master he lost. She could never comprehend what it would be like to lose someone so close in spirit and mind. Perhaps, with the thought of death lingering, she would prefer never to have a Master to apprentice her.
"Let's try and finish these repairs and head to the dining hall, you must be as hungry as I am after all this strenuous work."
Hamara had not really made any close friends at the Temple, even as a child she often lingered in the archives between classes, preferring documents and datapads over socialising with the other Padawans. It was nice to not be alone from time to time however, and Kaz seemed an amiable person whom she could spend her time with, away from her research.
The lightsaber was coming together, Kaz had calmed and his foresight seemed to be working in conjunction with his hands now. His frustration seemed to ebb away and with his clear mind he was quickly reworking the details of all the separate components. Hamara handed him the last pieces she had fused together, with that he should be able to complete the lightsaber.

Anner -introduced herself as she scratched her head in slight confusion, stopping a few meters before reaching the Twi'lek. Everything went by so fast that she guessed Jedi ninjas did actually exist.- Oh well -Anner shrugged and moonwalked the first two steps to the table she was eating in before turning back and walking normally- Nothing to do here -thought, unless she wanted to be meddlesome towards people she didn't even know, and without anything left to do that she was good at, her confidence dropped to the underlevels of the city making a imaginary hole in the floor. When one was ignored, it was obvious one was not wanted around, the faster she finished her meal the better. As she walked she wondered if it would be possible to make her food warmer by using the force, and regardless of the result, daydreaming was still allowed.

Kaz gazed the 'new' lightsaber.
A round hilt and spikes on both ends, simple no wierd symbols just a combat weapon.
Kaz took his grey lightsaber stood up and activated it, the lightsaber sounded perfect and its cyan blade it looked gorgeus.
Kaz took out his others lightsaber with his left hand and activated this almost identical deep blue beam sword.
He took some steps back and started swining these lightsabers with the power of the damind crystal the sabers were longer than normal lightsabers he did some acrobatic jumps on the walls at the same time he svung these two blades with excellent accuracy, while his other hand blocked imaginary blaster bolts and hits his other did fatal blows.
Kaz was laughing out right with happiness, his broken arm has healed!

As his last attack against an imaginary enemy he spinned around moving closer to the foe attacking with every other blow with his left hand and every other with his right, his battle technique is fairly simple distract confuse kill.

He finally stopped and deactivated both sabers and put them on his sides.

Hamara simply watched as the Twi'lek ignited his weapons, the cyan saber seemed to be completely repaired. Kaz had startled her somewhat as he began a frenzy of practice attacks and maneuvers around the room, he was agile and flexible and seemingly competent in combat.
While the Twi'lek danced with his repaired weapon Hamara turned her gaze to the Vahla whom had remained rather quiet during the progress of the conversation. She had not meant to be rude towards the young woman, she merely had gotten wrapped up in aiding Kaz with his lightsaber repairs.
"Are you a Padawan here at the Temple? I haven't seen you around before." Hamara tried to recall any memory from lectures, but the acolyte with horns did not strike any chord of rememberance with her. She must be new, or at least, a recent arrival.
"I'm heading to the refectory for the evening meal...would you care to join Kaz'aia and myself?", she noticed the Vahla female had a plate of food at her table but felt it would be ungracious and improper not to extend an invitation. Hamara seemed in the mood, for once, to make acquaintances that evening, rather than sit alone, by herself with her thoughts and studies.

The Vahla shrugged again- It's alright, I didn't mean to interrupt -as she got a little bit closer to the table, almost foreseeing the saber slipping through the hands of the padawan and beheading someone. One amongst the many reasons why she wouldn't give a padawan a real lightsaber, those things could kill for real, in her eyes it was like giving guns to children. And partially, because she didn't have the luck of training with a training saber.

No, I'm a Shade Knight, not a Padawan -replied to her, nonetheless she didn't seem fearsome nor anything that ever could get close to that, image-wise at least, she did seemed like another padawan. Except for the limbs missing.- I was one of the envoys sent to meet the council -she actually had no idea if they would know, but she said it anyways. Her gaze fell upon the plate of food with hesitation for a brief moment, contemplating the invitation as she made time with words.

Suprisingly, the Twi'lek did not kill anyone before seathing his lightsabers. She never understood why having two lightsabers was so cool among Padawans. Finally she took up the plate still with some hesitation and walked towards them, before sliding the recipient on the table with care.- So you are both padawans?

Kaz was still looking at his 'new' lightsaber and heard the shade knights question.

''Well'' He started and looked at the shade knight ''Im not an actual padawan anymore, Im trying to be a jedi knight but they say Im not becoming one for years.''

''Im usually on the field doing some jobs for the republic, oh Im Kaz'aia Porka nice to meet you!''

Hamara noticed that this 'Shade Knight' had revealed her name earlier to be 'Anner', she committed it to memory. There seemed a great distance between all three of them, yet here the Force had brought them together in its own enigmatic way. She was only vicariously aware of the envoys of the Shade Knights at the Temple, although the true nature of their being here eluded her.
"You weren't interrupting at all, I just thought I should inspect the source of commotion that I could hear from down the corridor", she glanced at Kaz, indicating that it was 'his' commotion that had alerted her to the room. "I cannot speak for Kaz'aia here, but I am a Padawan of the Order, yes." She was somewhat confused by the Twi'lek's words, he claimed not to be a Padawan anymore...however he was not yet a Jedi Knight either. Perhaps he had carved his own path, divergent from that of the other Jedi apprentices, after the death of his own Master.
She was relieved when Kaz disengaged his lightsabers, she wondered, as the Vahla did, as to why he needed two weapons. Hamara only ever ignited hers during training tutorials and technique exercises. One lightsaber was enough. She felt it was, while an extension of herself, only to be used as the very last resort in any situation. Where diplomacy and peaceful tactics failed, her lightsaber could endure.
"Shall we make our way to the refectory? I'm afraid my stomach is shouting at me again..."
