The Training of Joshua Bailo

[Trakon]

Osman brought up a screen to the Jedi code.

"Emotion, yet peace
Ignorance, yet knowledge
Passion, yet serenity
Chaos, yet harmony
Death, yet the force."


"What do these words mean to you?"

 

[Horizon]

Joshua studied the words for a moment and wasn't really sure what they meant. The tenets sounded like guidelines to him. He became lost in thought for a moment and pictured his life if he followed these tenets.
A word came to mind but he couldn't exactly see it. The echoing halls of the academy sounded with patterings of feet from many Jedi.
The sounds from the terminals made rings and beeps.
Finally Joshua used the force to tune out everything and the word came clearly. He responded to Master Osman,s question in a quiet voice....
"Peace. That is what it means to me master."

 

[Trakon]

"In what way can you uphold this peace?"

 

[Horizon]

"Many ways. Being equal with others sounds like a fine way to me. Helping those in need and not giving into strife."
So many thoughts flowed into his mind. There were so many possiblities of ways to achieve peace. He wasint happy with his suggestions that he had given but they sounded good at the time.

 

[Trakon]

"Describe to me how you would do these things?"

 

[Horizon]

"I would pursue the greater good. Say there was someone who was low in their life right? I would offer help in any way possible to them. But first I would ask how they got into their position. Perhaps they got into the wrong crowd or maybe they do spices and they couldn't afford it any more, so they suffer withdraws? The man in the wrong crowd I would be his ambassador and work things between the two. If possible I would pay for him. Violence would be my last option. While our spice guy,I would take him to a rehab get him the help he would need."He paused for a moment thinking of being equal....
Lets say an organization was controlling some citizens by exerting their muscle upon them. Again I would be a diplomat for the citizens to try and bring peace between the two parts. While violence would be my last option."

 

[Trakon]

"Good answer. The Republic and the Jedi are in war. How would you end this conflict?"

 

[Horizon]

"Depends. If it was one of our own Jedi that had gone down the wrong path and did something to the Republic to anger them,I would construct a meeting with the Republic as soon as possible to prevent any possible unneeded bloodshed. Then come to terms on what has occurred with the fallen Jedi and begin negotiating a peaceful treaty. That is if they accept to come to terms with our order. If not a fallen Jedi for a cause of a war,I would once again try to negotiate a treaty as soon as possible. Also have our members to return to our respective academy's to stop any further incidents."

 

[Trakon]

"Now this is happening as we speak. The Hutts are in war with the Republic, their Taung soldiers doing work that no one but they would do. The Jedi, defenders of peace, are needed in this war. Will you fight for the Republic and possibly die in order to stop this war?"

 

[Horizon]

"A war is not peace. It is the manifestation of hate,greed,anger and strife. Our order stands for peace. And if I had to give my life in this war all for the sake of peace in the Galaxay and prevent the loss of lives of people I would do it with no regrets."
Thoughts flowed into his mind like a waterfall. He truly didint know how much he was gifted for being allowed into the order of the Jedi. Honor filled the aspects of his mind.

 

[Trakon]

"Now that you know what it is to be a Jedi, let us finish the physical aspects of this training." Osman led Joshua back to the training room.

 

[Horizon]

Joshua followed his master back into the training room and stood attentivly awaiting his master,s next instructions.

 

[Trakon]

"Draw you taining saber. Prepare to go all out." Osman ignited his blade and brought it up, in classic Soresu like always.

 

[Horizon]

"As you wish Master Osman." Joshua flipped the switch of his training saber the glow light the area around him quickly. Joshua moved his body into the Ataru form with ease. He paced his breaths to keep control of his body and began to move the force throughout his body. Immediately Joshua went into a sprint torwards his Master. Coming near his master he swung horizantaly torwards his master with great speed. Instead of placing strength in his blows this time around he would replace it with speed this time.

 

[Trakon]

Osman's reflexes were even faster than his younger self. He quickly blocked Joshua's attack and pushed back a little so that Joshua would be a little off balance.

 

[Horizon]

Feeling his master pushing back Joshua moved with and used the force to propell himself backwards into a flip landing on his feet. Determination filled his mind and once more sprinted again torwards Osman.
Leaping over his master he swung his saber to the left Osman,s body in an attempt to clip his arm.

 

[Trakon]

Again Osman's blade stopped Joshua's, with Osman becoming the eye of Joshua's hurricane.

 

[Horizon]

Landing the hurdle and their sabers locked in place Joshua was honored to be taught by Master Osman. In return he pressed his light saber against Osman,s and began to channel the force back into his feet,his feet became firmly planted and slowly he pressed forward in an attempt to press his master backwards through aggression.

 

[Trakon]

Osman was not unused to having to use strength. The Force flowed through him as well and he stood his placed. But one hand left his handle and sent a small Force push to Joshua.

 

[Horizon]

Joshua felt a strange energy pushing him back which made all the difference.
By this time he relaized his master had used a small push using the force.
The wheels inside his head began to turn in that very instant.
He moved with the push acting as if he was going to lose balance.
To make the act more believeable he pretended to sumble with and with swift turn he swung back at his master using as much strenght as he could muster.
