Joshua stood in the water Gardens awating his new padawn.
A young Trandoshan he had met while searching through the markets of courscant. He felt the Force resonate off of her like raw energy.
Knowing her potential and seeing how young she was Joshua invited her
to be trained under him as his new pupil.
Joshua sat down near a stream in the garden and let his hand sift through the water as he waited....

Ksila backed out of yet another corner of the temple and finally saw the outside light that led into the garden. Many people, dark robed like her, prowled the halls, and she pondered, thinking about how it is possible to look like everyone else but still feel singled out, different, alone. Buzzing filled ever scale and niche between them, Why did they vibrate so ? So lost was she in her thinking that just about ran into another wall of the Temple. Ksilas stopped, took another step back, and tried to pass between the doorway again, thistime making it out into the gardens instead of another corridor. Kailiak kahurrumphed, and found a new position on Ksilas' shoulder, jolted by the near miss from slamming the wall. She continued walking, untill she found the young male human, resting his hand in the water of a stream. The vibration of her scales increased a notch as she sat down on a stone across from the man, His name was Joshua, right? Joshua Bailo? what did he want me here for? something like a padawan, i think. Is a padawan a pad made of wan's? If' so, what is a wan? why does my scales hum when certain people approach me?[/I] She thought as she looked him in the eye, stroking the varactyl's eye ridges as Kailiak placed herself in Ksilas' lap. I don't know him, or any of these Jeedai, so I guess I'll just call myself Zaarkh til I decide otherwise...
( OOC: How was that? )

Joshua waded his hand through the water untill finaly noticing a familiar face sit down near him. Looking over his shoulder he could fully see the Trandoshan he had seen a couple of days ago. Yet there was something different this time. She was fully dressed in robes this time. Although he didint pay much attention in their last encounter. Padawan robes maybe? Joshua thought to himself. Slowly he let his hand rise out of the
water then suddenly shaking his hand to get excess water off it.
Extending his finger torwards the water Joshua moved it in circles without ever touching it. After a couple of seconds the water was now in a small whirlpool. Joshua turned his attention away from the water and smiled torwards the somewhat shy and yet confused Trandoshan.
"You know, you could of asked for directions." Joshua said while trying not to laugh. He knew she would have problems getting here and this was something of his own personel test for her....
((You did fantastic. You did better than me thats for sure.))

A shudder creeped up Ksilas' back, and she tried to hide it. If he could tell that she had nearly bumped into the walls of every corridor in the temple, what else could he tell? It was imbarrasing enough being here with all these seemingly importaint individuals, and while she was shedding too. She watched him as he eyed up her robes, so similar to the others around here, yet so different, infused with memories so sorrowful. She smiled, hoping the shock on her face wasn't visible, and rasped, voice wavering slightly, " Yeah, I could have..... What did you want me here for again?" When your talking to strangers, Ksilas mused silently, a good tactic is to always get to the point before too many questions about yourself were aroused.

Joshua turned back and faced the water and smiled to himself.
It didint take much to read her embarrasment.
Seeing her individuality and personality both from conversation and through the Force Joshua saw a moldable figure. Both sides could take it mold it to whatever they desired. Therefore Joshua thought it might be high-time to tell her why he wanted her here in the Temple....

"Do you know what the Force is? Or what it does? Perhaps do you know what I am?"
Joshua asked in a curious delighted tone. He was always happy to meet people and this occasion made it more exciting....

The Force? What in the World is the Force? As for you, Aren't you something like a... She closed her eyes as she tried to remember the word, then opened them. Jeedai? All I know is that you and many of the people here make my scales tingle, and that a guy with a glowing blue blade stopped a bar fight, and someone called him a Jeedai, and he made my scales get all prickly too. Did she really just say that? Mentally, she gaped at herself. What was it about this guy that made her talk? Kailiak oviously trusted him, due to the way she was curiously inching off her lap torwards him, but Ksilas didn't know what to think.

Joshua let out a small polite smile at her response.
Never before had he heared such a remark like the force making one,s scales tingle......But it didint matter. After all she was a different species.
"J-e-d-a-i" Joshua said slowly just to make sure she got the pronounciation right. He didint want anyone teasing her about a simple word.
"We Jedai insure most the safety of people in many different places of the Galaxy. And the Force is something that runs through us all. Its pretty much the life Force of everyone." Joshua chuckled to himself at the sound of the way he was explaining things. "The reason why your scales is tingling I believe is because sensitive to the Force." Joshua slightly chuckled once more. Indeed he was enjoying this.

"Oh..." So this was what a, what she had so previously called a Jeedai, was. Was this what Koorbar was talking about when he had said she was different? Force Sensitive? So she could control the life essence of all living things? This felt a little bit over her head, but it had some sense. Go on...

"Here let me give you an example of being able to control the Force."
Being able to teach some one else was great feeling to him.
So this was a good chance to teach he thought.
"Now watch the water closely.."
Joshua extended his hand out torwards the water and moved it back and forth slowly....The water swayed with his hand making currents with in the water. "Now I want you to try and do what I just did." It didint matter whether or not if she could move the water. He just wanted to see what she would do.....
((Im going to get off for the night. So Ill continue this tommorow when I can.))

Ksilas gently, relunctantly placed Kailiak down, and moved closer to him and the water. She placed out her hand, as he did, and tried to move the water. At first it didn't budge. She closed her eyes and tried to imagine the life force of the water, the Force, as he had called it, thought, willed it to move, to see if this wonder was truly real...

Sploosh! Ahh! She opened her eyes to see The water leap up from where it was, and danced in the air! She gasped and fell down backwards, astonished. The water dropped down like someone had dropped an invisible beaker. This wasn't what she had esactly wanted, but the exhilaration! It coursed through her blood! She had done what she thought was impossible!

(See ya, + have a great night!)

Watching her raise the water definetly revealed a promising student.
But as soon as the water had raised it had went into a splash.
"Very good. This act alone shows you being Force sensitive along with your scale problems." He said jokingly. Perhaps this Trandoshan could be his first student. But the only thing that remained was him popping the question.
"Well my friend, your skills definetly shine. I have an offer for you aswell.
I invite you to You have abilities that could be fostered into pure skill."
Joshua wondered what she might say. It was alot to ask of someone...

.She laughed at his joke, but quieted down quickly in contemplation. "I invite you to... You have abilities that could be fostered into pure skill." When he said that, she was filled with awe. Was he going to talk about what a padawan was next? She couldn't resist the question," What is your invitation?" Kailiak had jumped back onto her lap, and cooed, but none of it mattered. what she knwe of The Force was like a shadow on the edge of her pereferal vision, Something part that she new was so awesome and great, but just beyond her grasp.

"I invite you to be my padawan. It would be an experience for both of us I believe. After all it would be nice to teach someonelse."
Joshua stood up and held out his hand to the Trandoshan in efforts to help her up and also an indirect way of accepting the offer.
"So what do you say?"
Joshua said with polite smile....

Padawan. That had the general idea of an apprentice. The young man was standing there, waiting. She reconized the small, indirect idea of the helping her up, but she left him standing there for a moment. She thought hard. Some of the people/ailiens had been really young, but others had been older, to the point of white beards and wrinkly faces. SOmehow she knew that this choice was going to affect her for her life. She stared up into his eyes as she made her choice. Gathering Kailiak up onto a fomfrtable postition over her shoulders, Ksilas grasped the outstreched hand infront of her, careful to make sure her three fingered grip didn't cause pain to the unscaled flesh of his hand. "I accept your invitation." However, her yellow eyes hinted a challenge; Give me the best you've got....

Helping her up off the ground Joshua was happy to hear her response.
His first padawan he thought. Certainly a new experience for the two of them.
Pulling out a set of padawan robes Joshua handed them over Ksilas as a way to make things official. In his other hand Joshua had a training saber in which offered at the same time. "These two things will pave the way for your training. By the way welcome home." Joshua let a smile past his lips.
He felt like he was reliving the moment of when he became a padawan...

Home. A place she felt like she hadn't had for centuries. She let out a low sad smile and placed the robes in her bag slung over her shoulder, but kept the silverish thing in her hand. It looked, well, like a handle to some type of sword... Like the long glowing weapon hilt of the jedi she had seen before. However, there was no blade here, she looked down the darkness of the shaft. Then looked at Joshua, then placed it in her bagas well. "So where do we begin?" she spoke after a minute.

He waved his new student to follow him as he left the gardens to her first training excersise. It was now late in the evening and the temples hallways were not as packed now, as for some turning in for the night after hours of training. Turning a corner Joshua led his student to the library. A great center of learning and of history. "My first lesson will be teaching you the way of the Jedi. Or your way as of today." Joshua picked up a small cube like device and slightly touched it with the palm of his hand. As he touched it he used the Force to activate it. The cube gave off a light then suddenly a faint voice could be heared along with a distorted image of a hooded man.

"There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no chaos; there is harmony.
There is no death; there is the Force."

The faint hologram faded into darkness as did the cube as Joshua took his hand off the device. Opening his pocket he dropped the small fragile cube back in and presumed to speak. "What do you make of what the Jedi said? What does it mean to you?"

"There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no chaos; there is harmony.
There is no death; there is the Force."

She had walked down with him and listened to the hologram say the following words, And was now beingeca asked what they meant. She thought hard for the answer that lied deep within herself, and when it came she gave it.

" Emotions are the life of our minds. How there can never be any in this Order I do not understand. If I am now your apprentice, then my master is not following the code because I could see the hidden smiles and stifled laughs, and I could see you were enjoying what was going on out there. Enjoyment is an emotion is it not? Life is emotions, otherewise the life is just a life of a mindless drone, nothing more than the simplest of droids."

She paused for effect, then continued in her rasping voice;

"Ignorance is truly something to be avoided; Knowledge is definately the answer to that problem. In that and in all of the following I believe What the Holo said."

She cocked her head slightly. It was getting colder now, and the darkness was starting to creep outside; thank goodness there was more heat in here. Nevertheless, the curse of her cold-blooddedness was starting to creep in, chilling her body head to toe. ksilas shuddered and said

"I do not say that you are doing anything wrong, but I am just wondering, And I am sorry if I am making things too difficult for you...
master."

Joshua nodded his head to his students response. Infact it made sense in what she was saying. "You are right to judge me. Perhaps I do act a bit overjoyed at times. There are dangers to these emotions. Im going to give an example. Picture two Jedi knights, one female and the other male. The two fall madly in love with one another. Nothing wrong right?..... Wrong."
With the word wrong coming from his mouth he gave it a very stern mention of it being literaly "wrong". " lets also say they are paired together on a mission and one is killed by some means of the mission going wrong. The other Knight will lose a love one and give into his strife over it and fall, losing his ways as a Jedi Knight." Pausing for a moment Joshua thought about what he had said and decided to give another explanation but much shorter this time around. "Strong emotions such as hate love are dangerous like anyother emotion. When giving into them they cause you to be blinded." Taking a big breath, Joshua waited for his student to reply with whether or not she understood along with any other insightful information.

But what about other emotions, such as joy, serentity, and sadness? None of these seem as dangerous as Hate and Love, but each is caused by one of these. As well, when I tried to move the water from the stream, Looking didn't move it, but reaching out with my feelings did. If there is no emotion, there is no way of using and grasping the force. That is, if I assume correctly that using your emotions and feelings can use the Force.

She looked at her mentor, wondering what his answer to her pondering would be.
