The Trials of Mastery are an ancient tradition of the Jedi Order, used at various times throughout history. The betrayals of the Hundred Years Darkness and the Rise of the First Sith have pushed the Jedi into action, and the Trials are once again returned to their place of sacred importance in the Order. Jedi Knights face great challenges every day, and when they believed they are ready, they must stand and be judged harshly by their would-be peers, ensuring that only the greatest Knights are entrusted with the title of Master.

The shimmering blue-grey holographic bust of Councilor Rem Shivaaga flickered in the dimly lit chamber deep within the Jedha Temple. Kolto patches and respirator tubes shifted in and out of frame on the periphery of the image, clearly visible. The Chagrian Masters breathing was labored and raspy. He was still recovering from his wounds in a pressurized meditation chamber in his quarters, but this was the first Council of Masters convened to oversee a Trial of Mastery in over a century, and as the senior surviving member of the Jedi High Council, he did not intend to miss it. On either side of him would be his fellow High Councilors, Masters Wyck and Corliss, and on either side of them sat Masters Shai and Master Guleya, rounding out this council.
Before them today would stand Knight Kane. Shivaaga kept tabs on all those Knights and Masters who had joined his crusade against the scattered Exile menace, and knew that Kane had led a much more tumultuous life than most Jedi. The Council of Masters would have to determine how that life had affected to him- where he had failed, and more importantly what he had learned from that failure. The Knight was aged and experienced, but years alone did not make one a Jedi Master, as the venerable Wyck would say.
Rem nodded in greeting as the Knight was escorted in.
"Welcome, Knight Kane..." rasped, his voice distorted by both the hologram and the breathing apparatus strapped to his face, "It's good to see that... you haven't aged a day." The Councilor managed half a smirk before inspecting his former comrade intently and seriously, wishing he was there in person and relying on his fellow Masters to see and sense what he could not in this situation. "Seeing as you are here today on the strength of your credentials as a teacher... I must ask... How go your own studies?"

Master Shivaaga has begun the questioning. Kane should be the first to post, and then Vollen and Bruce can proceed with the Council in whichever way they choose. If any of the Masters require additional questioning or clarification or feel a need to interject while they examine Kane, they may do so. That said, lets try to keep things fairly short and sweet while evaluating the applicant so that this is not unnecessarily drawn out before we vote.
