I see it as nothing more than "Singles awareness day". If you don't have a boyfriend/girlfreind, it happens to be the most depressing time of the year, or at least for me.
Why is it depressing? Don't got a girlfriend, go out and get one. It's not that hard, especially when you're young, there's a lot of immature girls out there who just think it's "cool" to be "dating" somebody. For real couples who love each other, Valentine's Day is just like any other day, because of the cheesy line "I don't need a reason to give you gifts,".I see it as nothing more than "Singles awareness day". Lol I don't hate it, I just think it's silly. It was silly last year too, and I was dating somebody. I don't even remember what we did, I don't think we did anything... :test1:This website is quite funny sometimes.
Fickle springs to mind, if you all had girlfriends you would love it but as your all lonely gits you hate it lol...
I have brought my girlfriend some flowers and I am taking her to te zoo...Bit different
Just because it's old doesn't mean it isn't commercial.Valentine's day isn't commercial, it's been around since the Middle Ages. Buying chocolate for someone is trivial compared to the worthless crap people buy each day.

I doubt that Valentine's Day has that much of an effect on the economy. Seriously, christmas is a hundred times worst.
Over all economy? No. But this is the busiest time for many, many businesses, because we have stressed you need to buy buy buy to show affection, which is stupid.
Guess what? You're living in a capitalist country, and that's how it works.
It's funny that you're only mentioning Valentine's Day because every other day of the week you're subject to the same stupid BS. Though instead of urging you to buy chocolate, they want you buy a pack of chips.
I don't like it either (hence the scythe and hammer) but I'm not a hypocrite.
