DESCRIPTION
X3R's current - and to date, only - chassis is an ancient Guardian-class war-robot, originally manufactured by droidwrights of the planet Thanium, during the twilight of Xim the Despot's ancient empire. Shipped as war reparations for the Hutts after their victory in the Hutt-Xim War, X3R spent several millennia installed as a last-ditch defense system for the central control computer of a Hutt armory on the planet Vontor. When the computer eventually rebelled against its Hutt masters, X3R saw actual combat for the first time, and was defeated by a band of "mercenaries" the Hutts had kidnapped and forced to retake the facility.

Despite heavy damage, X3R did survive the encounter, and was repaired by droids infected with the Instance 13 dataplague, who were also trying to take over the facility; they attempted to infect him, but were thwarted by the war-robot's ancient computer jack, which had been rendered obsolete man times over and could not accept modern plugs. After brokering a peace between the mercenaries and the central computer, X3R was subsequently ordered to leave with them, with the central computer sealing the armory behind them.

Since his involuntary manumission, X3R has made a few modifications to his chassis, primarily in an effort to make himself more broadly practical and acceptable in more places he might choose to visit. These include the deletion of his twin forearm-mounted beam-tubes, as well as the flame projector built into his cranial turret; this is primarily intended to make him compliant with combat droid regulations on most planets. X3R does retain his twin palm-mounted heatbeam projectors, which he classifies as cutting tools. X3R has also changed the material of his armor plating to durasteel rather than obsolete kiirium, although the plating's resistance to damage is not really effected.

X3R has not bothered to update his obsolete interface socket and datapunch reader, as these give him a measure of insulation against dataplagues and attempts to slice his hardware.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Although considered antiques on most worlds, Guardian-class war-robots are still fearsome killing machines, and possession of them is regulated similarly to modern battle droids on most worlds.

INTENT
To create a chassis for X3R, my battle droid character. This chassis is based on the standard Guardian-class war-robot, although with some omissions in terms of armament.

RESTRICTIONS
Guardian-class war-robots are rare, ancient technology, and owning one would require some justification. Droid player characters using it as a chassis would also not be able to claim memories of ancient canon or fanon events.
