Sound cool, I've seen a lot of these tech savvy and scientific smart Sith types popping up so should be good to have that dynamic! I hope that your character knows Pyrokinesis if your name is Pyro though :p

Look forwards to seeing what you come up with.
oh I intend to , on that note, how many force powers can a sith acolyte usually have? I can't seem to find the information anywhere.
But yeah, force crush and pyrokinesis are two I intend to give my character.

Well there is nothing set in stone, there will be an announcement on it I belive soonish. Force crush would fall under the same bracket as grip and pull its more the force in which your character is able to grip (or so i belive).

Just be sensible I guess.

A point that should probably be made; in this timeline it is optional whether you start as an Acolyte or a full blown Sith. Just thought I should tell you since you're new and you may not know.

Is there a difference between Sith and someone who uses the dark side? As Vihu is kind of like that Darth Maul-looking guy Asaj Ventris trained. Kind of barbaric (but of course, with some sense) with his lightsaber and his force powers.

The Sith are the primary sect of Dark Side Force users in the galaxy, but there are also many kinds of Dark Jedi. I don't know if there are any indie Dark Jedi factions planned for this timeline yet, though.

The Sith are a faction, are they not? Because Vihu is not interested in ioining a faction but still uses the dark side.

Yes, the Sith are the most prominent and organized Dark Side faction. If you're character is an indie but still uses the Dark Side, then it's safe to say he would just be a Dark Jedi.

I'll be playing a Sith character in the next TL. I've been working on her bio for a while and I think it's finally shaping up in a way I like. I usually go for Jedi characters, but have had this idea brewing for a while. Check out her bio so far, let me know what you think!

Biography
[fancybox4="https://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/orphanage-xl.jpg?w=650&quality=80&h=429"]The Orphanage

Rosalin was abandoned at an orphanage on (Planet?) when she was only three months old. In addition to her young age, she had an awful fever. As poor as (St. Mary's) was, the OverSeers simply left her be, unable to help her in any way. After a few days, she came through it and was taken in and fed with the others. Throughout the first few years of her life there were many times she was left on her own to live or to die of her own accord. A few of the OverSeers felt that even when she was healthy she was a waste of resources and they would be better off tossing her into the streets.

She survived through it all, however the sicknesses had ravaged her health and left her perpetually weak and prone to sickness. At age five, she began schooling with the other children. There were 42 children in total at the orphanage, divided into two classes. The younger class consisted of children aged 5-12. Rosalin was the only girl who had been there since she was a baby. Most of the babies got adopted right away, Rosalin only remained because she was always sick and no one wanted a sick child. Because of this fact, all of the other children figured there must be something very wrong with her. They teased her and bullied her. There was one girl in particular, named Ellia Malo who relentlessly picked on her. She took Rosalin's meals, she put itching leaves in her pillow case, she pushed her chair over, took her homework, spit on her, and generally humiliated her in front of the other children.

Her Revenge

Rosalin took this all with as much grace as possible. She ducked her head and turned from the stares and the mocking laughter. She found deserted corners to be by herself, away from them. She was an excellent student, studying much more complex lessons than others in her own age group. Even so, she would simmer with rage at night, hands clenched in fists, trying to think of some clever way to get back at Ellia. The rage clouded her mind. She could think of nothing save simple violence and Rosalin knew she could never best the girl in a fight. It took years, but eventually she was able to think clearly. She learned to immerse herself in her studies. She went to libraries and began learning on her own. She felt superior to everyone in the orphanage, even the teachers. She knew she was smarter than all of them. With this knowledge came confidence. She was smarter than them. Than Ellia. Now she would get her revenge.

She was eleven at this point, and Ellia was sixteen. The bullying wasn't as bad as it had been. Ellia mostly forgot about Rosalin. But Rosalin remembered. She remembered it all. The idea came to her one day, that she might procure rat poison and slip it into Ellia's food. She thought about it, but would rather have had some personal touch. Something that would tell Ellia why she was dying. She thought about stealing a steak knife and stabbing her, but wasn't sure Ellia wouldn't be able to get it out of her hands before she made a killing stroke. She wasn't strong enough to strangle her, even with a pillow. And then it happened.

It was a particularly bad day. Rosalin had made a friend for once, a boy named Th'yall. He was nice to her and paid attention to her. No one did that. He made her forget her rage, if momentarily. He was the only friend she'd ever made at the orphanage. On this particularly bad day she had been going to one of her distant corners of the building that were rarely occupied, intending to start a new book she'd gotten from the library earlier that week. Before she got there, she stopped short just around the corner. She heard people, two of them, and they weren't talking. Of course she knew what they were doing and she knew she should have turned right around and left them to it. But Rosalin had heard the boy's voice. Th'yall's voice. She peeked around the corner and saw them. It was Th'yall and Ellia.

Such intense rage as she had never felt before bubbled up inside her like a writhing snake. Red and black spots clouded her vision. A high pitched screeching filled her ears, but she wasn't aware of being the source of it. The tingling smell of ozone filled her nostrils, soon accompanied by a sickly sweet smell that almost smelled of roasting meat.

Rosalin was found unconscious in the hallway. Black scorch marks covered the walls all down the length of it. At the far end were two corpses, blackened and burned almost to nothing. No one knew just what had happened, not even Rosalin herself. The official story was that one of the gas lines must have ruptured and ignited somehow. Of course there were whispers that wondered how that could be. Whispers that wondered how Rosalin had survived such a blast, unmarked, when the other two had been so horridly burnt.

Lessons Learned

Rosalin didn't have to worry about being left alone any more. All of the children feared and loathed her. True, no one knew just what had happened down in that distant hallway, but somehow everyone knew that she had had something to do with it. Meanwhile, Rosalin puzzled over the incident with academic interest. Try as she might, she never could discern exactly what had transpired. After many hours pondering, she finally decided that there was power in her. Power she had never felt before. She began to experiment.

She had heard of the Force, of course. Always in the past she had largely dismissed the notion, figuring it to be a religious belief rather than a real thing. Now it was different. She got her hands on books describing various aspects of the Force, she studied everything she could. Studying was nothing compared to experience, however. Slowly, she began to learn how to connect with the living power of the Force. She meditated, she used her emotions, she imagined the great power this connection might give her. She was obsessed, intoxicated with the power. She went away as often as she could to practice and to learn. Soon she was able to control the lightning sparks in her palm. Then she was able to lift chairs and tables high into the air and slam them back down where she chose. The feeling she got whenever she successfully controlled the power was pure ecstasy.

While she was learning to use the power, she was also maturing into a woman. Though she had always been sickly, she was never a homely child. Now others who looked on her saw beauty. Her breasts and hips had filled out, her face was losing the baby fat of childhood. She did nothing to enhance her beauty, nor to hide it. For a long time, she wasn't even aware of it, so lost was she in her lust for power through the Force. The day came when she was told of it, forcefully.

She was requested by the Dean of the orphanage to accompany his dinner. While nothing that had ever happened to her, this wasn't anything largely uncalled for either. The Dean had favorite students who excelled past the others and often had them dine with him. It was something Rosalin knew about, but never much paid attention to. When given the request, she sneered at the boy who was sent as messenger. Nodding consent and following him up the stairs to the Dean's chambers, she thought how honored other students were for this chance. She could care less. She was smarter and more powerful than anyone in this wretched place. In fact, she only stayed because she hadn't yet decided where she should travel or how to get there. She had plans in place to leave, but wasn't ready to choose a place.

These thoughts and more were at the front of her mind all through the tedious dinner with the Dean. He chattered at her and she made polite noises indicating she was listening, though she wasn't really. She was surprised, therefore, when suddenly she became aware that he had gotten up and was standing directly behind her. His hand gently stroked her hair and he started whispering things in her ear. At first rigid with rage, her first thought was to strike him dead where he stood. She knew she probably could, if she tried.

Something struck her as odd, however. She had never lain with a boy, hadn't had the chance of course. But she never would have expected the reaction the mere thought of bedding her was having on the Dean. He was thinking about it, of course. She could see that plainly now. His hands were shaking and his breathing was coming in rapid gasps. Slowly, she relaxed her body. He must have sensed the difference, for he started pulling at her to stand. Her mind working quickly, she did what he wanted. She allowed him to lead her from the dining area into a bedroom. He was getting worse. His hand on hers was hot, almost feverish, and she could feel his pulse jumping irregularly through his skin. This was where she must make a decision.

She turned to face him and put her hands on her hips. "What do I get from you?" she asked bluntly. That startled him. She hid a sneer, thinking that he was pathetic to assume she'd just go along with his games like all the others did. He sputtered and tried to push her over to the bed. She deftly slipped out of his way and turned to face him again. "I need credits. Give me what I need, and I will return the favor."

The Dean had gotten over the shock of being addressed so by a young student, a girl at that. He glared at her with a calculating eye. He was not stupid. He had been there those few years ago when two students had died mysteriously and Rosalin had been in the same hallway, completely unharmed. He wasn't afraid of her, but he was wary. He knew the other students stayed away from her. Some primal instinct told him he ought to as well, but she was so beautiful... He simply couldn't help himself. He had extra credits anyway, it wasn't like he couldn't afford... Decision made, he left the room for a moment. When he returned, he placed a small stack of credits on the table and turned to face her. Rosalin eagerly counted the credits, then turned back with a sweet smile on her face. She gave him what he wanted, then left with her new wealth.

She did not enjoy the encounters with her Dean. She felt filthy afterward and washed several times to cleanse her body and her soul. However, he did give her the answer to one of the problems she had been having about leaving the orphanage. She was old enough to make it on her own in the universe, but she had no real skills. She didn't know what she could do to make money, and therefore couldn't book passage on a ship nor buy supplies or clothing. She would only have to endure the old man's fancies a handful of times and she would be able to go with plenty of credits in her purse.

'sassins -

Again, this is directly from my off-site project. So you absolutely don't need to use it if you don't want to. Just sharing it for fun and ideas:

Sith Assassins, Espionage Class, Middle Class or the House of Shadows are the second class of Sith and handle stealth and intelligence operations, aswell as executions and law and order. They work alongside Imperial intelligence and the Ubiqtorate, who in turn, fund their operations, as Sith Assassins, even Darths, have no income, or at least they aren't meant to in theory. Discipline, simplicity, subtlety, discretion and obscurity are the tenants of the Assassin's lifestyle. They must swear oaths of modesty, chastity and austerity and devote their every living moment to their class and arts. Material wealth or sexual or romantic desire are regarded as weaknesses that enemies can exploit, so an Assassin must be free of anything "tainted". The Shadowhouse has frequently suffered periods of poverty due to their austerity measures and their own ludicrous code is never always abided by, with members frequently breaking the rules to pursue their personal lives.

Like their Sorcerer-class counterparts, Assassins do not live in academies, but instead utilize "Shadowhouses" which are serve as residences to their members. Living conditions in these places are often dire, with decaying interiors and little privacy, so many Assassins chose to take civilian jobs in order to live independently, despite such an act being severely looked down upon. These businesses are owned and run by a Sorcerer or Arcanist who shares part of the income with Imperial Intelligence. However the skills of the Assassins directly serve the Sith and Empire, rather than the Imperial populace. Sith Assassins also handle arrests alongside torture and punishment within Sith society. Importantly, Assassins do not overtly influence Imperial or Galactic affairs, they exist in the shadows, and only subtly influence their surroundings.

The Sith Assassins were heavily inspired by Japanese ninjas, and don't look too different. All Assassins wear simplistic, calf-level fully-black robes with a coloured obi to their show skillset or rank. While Sorcerers typically wear rich, bold colours and extravagant headdresses, Assassins keep their appearance ominous and subtle. Unlike the decadent Sorcerers or gritty Warriors, Assassins never use slang or expletives in their speech. They maintain a delicate, weightless, extremely poised demeanour, and commonly do not speak unless spoken too. Because their lifestyle is so strict and introverted, many Assassins become legitimately shy or depressed. They are lightsaber masters, but employ a very different combat style to that of the Warrior. They wield double-bladed lightsabers and utilize acrobatics, martial arts and extreme speed, with some Assassins being among the fastest combatants in the galaxy.

The most profound tenant of the Assassin's code is his discipline and control. Whereas Sith Warriors overtly display their rage and hatred, Sith Assassins control their emotions with almost inhuman skill. As masters of disguise and espionage, a Sith Assassin's mind and expression must be almost totally blank, so enemies can not detect his intentions. Foul tempers or exaggerated personalities are regarded as huge weaknesses, and are typically met with strict disciplining. Punishment in the shadowhouse is cruel and unusual, and ranges from isolation, to restraint, to starving of members. As a part of their strict lifestyle, Assassins maintain rigorously healthy diets and are forbidden to smoke or use spice. Their lives were brutally rigid and tragically impersonal.

A famous expression is "the one thing that brings Sorcerers and Warriors together is their hatred of Assassins". Unlike their more extreme counterparts, Sith Assassins typically remain neutral in the class turf-war and serve whichever kind of superior Sith gives them work. Meanwhile, the Sorcerer and Warrior who would usually detest each other, laugh together as they mock the Assassin Class for their conservative and prudish ways.

Assassins also put "shadow-" in front of everything and have to do stuff like ask their masters' permission to use the bathroom... much to the hilarity of the Sorcerers and Warriors. They are the most serious sect of Sith, who get taken less seriously than anyone else in the Order as a result.

"Oh dear me, the High Assassin is bored. The most boring person in the f^cking Empire is finally getting a taste of his own medicine."

- Darth Sadeon, High Arcanist

.....

"Sadeon. We've sought assistance from some master Force users to teach you how to behave yourself."

"Who? The bloody Jedi?"

"No. The Shadowankers. Enjoy."

"NOOOO. OH F^CK NOOO."

Sooo... I have been racking my brains for a few days now. Actually its been more like a week. Trying to work out just what I'm going to do for a third character. I tried making another generic Sith, but inevitably ended up with a differently worded version of my current character. I decided i had to try to make a physically weaker character or it was just going to be a constant struggle for me. Without further ado here is my character!

Count Valan

"Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armour, and it can never be used to hurt you."

Name // Morgus Valan

Title // Count (By Birthright)

Faction // Lords of The Sith

Rank // TBD

Class // Inquisitor

Homeworld // Naboo

Force Sensitive // Yes (Trained)

Species // Human

Gender // Male

Age // 32

Height // 4 Ft. 5"

Weight // 95 lbs.

Personality

tumblr_nowkiki9oK1qlmm69o6_400.gif
Morgus Valan is maybe the least intimidating Sith of all time. As a dwarf he is certainly not much to look and is often ridiculed for his size. Brought up to be well mannered, respectful and polite he has yet more qualities that distinguish him from the typical archetype of a Sith. While others of the order admire strength of the physical variety Morgus sadly can’t rely on his strength or speed and has worked on the development of strengths beyond what they eyes can see in order to compete with his peers.

An outcast from many in the order Morgus tends to keep himself to himself, devoting a large portion of his time to the research of the force and the pursuit of rare holocrons. While he has been subject to taunting in the past it has little effect on him emotionally. Morgus is well aware of where his true prowess lays and feels little need to prove himself in that sense. He is someone who is rarely stressed and tends to be good under pressure. This is likely down to his intelligence allowing him to keep one step ahead. Morgus relishes his current place within the order as his appearance allows him to operate unnoticed and with little interference. Unlike some of the more zealous Sith in the order Morgus has no real loyalty to the order but does look to increase his station through smart and somewhat manipulative power plays.

Psychologically Morgus remains fairly stable psychologically but does suffer from short man syndrome. While he does not draw attention to himself like some sufferers of SMS he does exhibit some signs of anger issues, tends to shout or talk loudly in groups as to be heard and often seeks to prove his worth to those he considers himself close to. He is also quite the risk taker and is more than happy to take on physical tasks others think he can’t complete and it is his strength of mind and pure will to succeed that is a driving force behind this. Morgus is quite the socializer and has an oddly appealing charm about him. His cheeky wit and often comical actions tend to make people feel a sense of security around him. This is something he uses to his advantage from time to time, developing a good rapport with someone before manipulating their actions to suit his own agenda. This often gives him total deniability and while he is a friendly character he is more than happy to throw those friends under a bus to gain leverage or save his own skin.

Morgus is neither for nor against killing. He realises that it is something that from time to time is required and he is more than happy to do so yet he finds that he can spare an enemy, turn them to his cause and use them as a mole. He will then acquire information and terminate them when he no longer has use of their Intel. Morgus has a talent for the art of mental manipulation and can delve into even the most closed off of minds for secrets, fully aware the lasting damage he can cause on a person he is more than willing to do what in necessary to gain the information he needs. This is especially true when dealing with strong practitioners of the force who he will often use to increase his own power firstly by taking their knowledge and then draining them of their power.

Overall Morgus is only out for himself and while he has characteristics that are maybe less than Sith like, they really serve as a veil to manipulate others, further his slow but steady agenda and inevitably gain power. All while staying off the radar of those who might want to take that which he has worked for.

This is the first draft of his personality, but hopefully gives an idea of the direction I'm trying and I'd love some advice on just making a dwarf character in general!

An Arcanist is a Master-ranked (or above) Sith Sorcerer here on SWRP. In my fanon it refers to a Darth-ranked Sorcerer. Juggernaut is a Darth-ranked Warrior, Executioner is a Darth-ranked Assassin.

This is wrong. The entire purpose behind the new Force useage and automatic Knight rank and no more training requirement is that the use of the Force no longer requires FL sanction, so unless Admins say otherwise, you can do whatever you want. Now, as with any other indie character, getting into actual roleplays will be a lot more difficult, but to say that in order to use the Force you had to be trained with a faction goes against the announcements that have already been posted.

In one of the posts on the main announcement thread it was talked about the difference between those who had be trained and those who had not. I'd sift through and find it but its 0030 here and i cant even see straight!

I asked the question today in the faction and rank announcement thread and the response confirmed that indie characters do not need approval to use 'advanced' Force powers.

Yeah we're not going to handicap indie characters, so the same standards apply.

Of course abuse will still be dealt with I'm sure.
