I asked the question today in the faction and rank announcement thread and the response confirmed that indie characters do not need approval to use 'advanced' Force powers.



Of course abuse will still be dealt with I'm sure.

Oh no! But you are unlikely to use them without training is what I'm saying. A bounty hunter with no formal trainings not going to just fire out electric judgement etc day one into the new timeline.

I remember someone here posting an idea for a character that has kind of that religious view in a sense that he is all for Sith tradition and customs. Also he was like covered with robes and focused more on force abilities and was a bit older.
So if the creator of this character sees this message me for a conversation. I think this character would go really well with the Sith i'm planning to create and the two could have some nice master/apprentice stories

Alright guys, so I am in the process of making my own Sith character for the New Timeline. I stumbled onto this thread and decided I might as well express my newfound allegiance formally, even though my character form is not complete. I'm new here to this site, but I'm really excited to get introduced to my faction and its members. :D:p

My character is going no to be setting of an Anti-Sith, someone who ties to use the dark side as a method of bettering the world. While he is extremely vicious at times and is still committed to the Siths goals with a fiery passion, he does so because he believes the Sith hold the key in creating order in the galaxy, and has a distaste for the passive nature of the Jedi that he believes has helped create so many problems and injustices throughout the republic.

I always did like that kind of character theme for Sith. It's always fun watching a Sith try and justify their actions and use of the Dark Side as being "for the betterment of the galaxy."

@+SpaceJesus+ I think that sounds like a great idea for a Sith character. Definitely a ton of options for conflict both internal and external, plus a lot of RP ideas just from the character's outlook alone.
