Would you become a vampire?

Alright so I've been watching a lot of vampire movies... And I've been wondering. If someone gave you the choice, would you become a vampire? And I'm not talking about your gay twilight vampire here, I'm talking about your typical folkloreish vampire, that means you'd get;

Immortality.
Super strength.
Super speed.
Super reflexes.

However you'd...

Only be able to go out at night.
Would pretty much lose your humanity.
And be forced to kill people to feast on their blood.

So would you?

I don't know. Never heard of "super strenght" before...

BTW, why can't you have sex?

Sounded fine until it seemed your stuck with the 'no daylight' version. But why no sex? Seriously. I was gonna put sure, why not be a vampire. But I had to say no... What's forever if you're tormented like that?

Maybe, I wasn't aware of the no sex rule though.

Vampires don't belong to any specific gender as far as I know.

Traditional Vampire and Werewolf folklore has them being very sexual creatures. For many early fiction in literature, Vampires were an allegory for the independent and sexually promiscuous woman invading society and breaking up the family.

Living forever is a plus, but no sex... naw...

Just the fact that it makes you immortal was enough to make me vote 'no'. But not being able to die OR have sex? Now that is an extremely shitty fate.

Immortal meaning you can't age.

Vampires can still die.

EDIT: And forget the no sex thing if you want.

In Anne Rice novels vampires don't have sex, but I guess it's just her.

So what do you know then... If I kept arms and legs, why not a vagina? And a man who would turn into a vampire would keep his junk. Maybe instead of not being able to have sex we just wouldn't care. And if we wouldn't care about that, then we really wouldn't care about much. So we wouldn't be tormented by killing innocents. So we wouldn't care about losing our humanity because it would be lost...

No specific gender? The original vampires were, as adroit put it so well, very sexual creatures. The main thing they did was seduce people and then drink their blood- usually after they had some fun, if you know what I mean. So the no-sex rule really shouldn't be there...

Either way though, if it's by the rules you posted- No way. :P

Oh, well in that case... Mmm that makes it more of a tough decision, but still a 'No' for me.

I would. Realistically it wouldn't be much of a change from who I am now anyway. At least once I became a vampire i'd have an excuse.

It's a much harder decision. I'd have to talk it over with my loved ones. See if they want to come along, and if they don't then I probably won't. If they do, then yes.

It'd make more sense to just edit the introductory post.

I say no. You may live forever but I say a restricted eternity kinda just cancels it out. No matter what there would be those who would seek to destroy you simply because you are different. You also don't really have to kill and feast on people. You could raid blood banks and the like.
