Two episodes to go of the first series, been brilliant so far and the second's already been commissioned. I wonder if we'll have to wait a whole year for the second installment...it's quite a lot shorter than most US series' in terms of Episode count at least, and if viewing figures stay up they might well go for doing all seven books in the fashion they've started (as I understand it this covers pretty much the first book, so it would pan out about a series to each book right?) they might have to film them in advance, or do two a year...they have a lot of child actors and 7 years of a series will make them age quite a lot (unless the books really do span a lotta years...I don't really know haha).

Oh and @Bac+Random Hero, HBO might not, but when they're aired over here they do. They manage to put 2 add breaks into each half hour episode of Entourage and that's HBO. Every US tv show has tonnes of ad breaks over here, HBO or not (I seem to remember 24 being the worst, with about 20mins of ads in each episode...grrrr). So yeah, it's quite refreshing for me at least to watch hour long tv shows with one ad break lol.

Series 2 was commissioned about 1/2 an hour after episode 1. They had best be getting their film on! Also, this series looks like it will just spread over into book 2 a tiny bit, to add a nice cap to the series.

Also, Tyrion and Hodor are my favourite characters.

Season 2's not coming out until April 2012, aka a year after Season 1.

I was watching it earlier and a squirrel decided to commit suicide and blow up a fuse (Sounded like a shotgun went off.) on the power lines halfway through the episode. Three hours later, I finished watching.

Great episode, counting the days to next Sunday.

I actually thought this was a game.

But it looks good. Like someone said, a LOTR look-a-like.

I kind of want to do a Diverse roleplay of it tbh.

I was thinking about that, would be quite difficult to implement though.

That's what I was thinking, how do you capture the intriuge, intensity and relentless nature of the books/show?

I don't think you could accomplish it in a Diverse RP on this forum.

It would have to be an entirely separate RP community.

Haven't watched any of this, would you say it's better or worse than Spartacus? That will rate whether or not I watch it.

=D

I don't think I'll be able to wait for season 2.

Shall we go ahead and start the killing spree in light of the inevitable torture the wait will bring?

Seems okay, saw excerpts about this series in a Rolling Stone mag we smuggled into the barracks.

I don't think I'll be able to wait for season 2.

I'd almost rather they just go in a different direction than use the replacement. Maybe just focus on Crixus trying to find Naevia kind of how they did the Gods of the Arena as only a few episodes. Maybe have Andy Whitfield reprise the role for a scene or enough to put the job he intended to do at the end of Season 1 in the hands of someone else, maybe Gannicus.

Don't think season 2 will be the same without Whitfield though.

It's kinda crazy how much Liam McIntyre looks like Andy Whitfield..
