Bio:
Narova Piell was born on Raxus Prime to a poor couple who scrapped metals to survive. He remained in their care until age three when the Jedi Watchman of that world discovered the young boy’s potential in the Force and suggested to his parents thinking about giving the boy over to the Jedi Order. After a week of discussing the request his parents decided the boy would be given better opportunities with the Jedi than they could even hope to offer him and so they willingly gave their son to the Jedi Watchman. Piell’s fate was from that moment on decided for him, he was to become Jedi.

Piell’s early instructions were smooth, while he was not a prodigy by any means he was by far the most patient child his instructors had ever met. Even more impressive was the boy’s basic understanding of the Force; he seemed to understand or accept basic Jedi philosophies without hesitation. Piell’s focus on his most core abilities during his Initiate term allowed him to have a better understanding of how each ability worked. Although his focus seemed to pinpoint on a better understanding of the Living Force his mindset was that of a Guardian; Piell firmly believed his duty as a Jedi was to defend the meek against not only the Sith but the corruption found in the most innocent of places. Because of this defensive mindset he began to train with the Lightsaber Combat Stance of Soresu, he believed it to be among the most practical of Combat forms and justifiably matched the way a Jedi should act in combat.

Piell eventually returned to Raxus Prime to see the home he never knew, the sights he saw ripped his heart apart. The planet was barely hospitable to life, anywhere there was a shred of civilization found it was a worse slum then any slum found in Coruscant Underworld. Piell searched for days until he found his mother, he learned that his father had died in a scrapping trip, that Scrap gangs were becoming increasingly hostile and beginning to attack the slums and rip apart people’s lives for credits. Despite his moral confliction Piell decided the correct path would be to aid these people through what means he could offer.

Piell backed by twenty shoddily armed Scrappers moved on the Scrap gang, while Piell had full intentions of solving this issue peacefully; the villagers had other ideas. Piell used his understanding of the Force to allow not only himself but the villagers into the Gang’s compound through affecting the guards decision making capabilities. Once inside Piell was brought before the leader of the small gang, where in a meeting was revealed; these people were not the scrapping gang, the people he had aided into the compound were. Instantly the sounds of battle were heard, blaster fire echoed throughout the camp and death cries shattered the silence that surrounded the camp.

Piell instantly knew his mistake and moved to correct it, his blue lightsaber was activated as the young Initiate began to defend the people of the compound; eliminating the hostile gang one by one. After roughly an hour of battle the gang was pushed back, the effects of their presence however remained. Shoddily made homes sat in ruin, weeping spouses or children knelt over the fallen bodies of loved ones, Piell felt a tinge of pain in his soul for his rash actions. Piell would spend the next two years on Raxus Prime helping rebuild the compound, increase its defenses, and train the people of the compound how to better defend themselves as penance for his actions.

When Piell returned to Tython word of his actions had reached the Jedi council, while the reprimanded his brash actions in aiding the Slum Gangs without question due to his relation with a member. They also praised his actions in not only helping rebuild the compound but in ensuring the people had a better and safer lifestyle. Because of his actions on Raxus Prime he was granted the title of Jedi Knight.

Piell spent his first ten years as a Jedi Knight in self-improvement, mastering his preferred combat style of Soresu, his Core Abilities, while beginning to learn the Combat style of Niman and expanding his knowledge in the Force to new lengths. After this Piell began sharing his knowledge with the younglings and Initiates of the Jedi Order to ensure future generations understood the Jedi way of life. This process lasted roughly a decade and during this time Piell took on his first Padawan, a young Zabrak girl called Kass Xenebic.
Kass was a strong willed girl even at her young age of five; she would often boast of the skills she had learned and bully other Initiates into doing her bidding. This was the first thing Piell moved to correct in the young girl; he would implement harsher training protocols when she would show these undesirable traits. The desired effect was reach over time, the experiences humbled young Kass and she began to show a more suitable attitude for a Jedi, initially Piell still worried that her haughty nature was merely masked by the discipline and secretly she hadn’t changed. Overtime however Piell forgot those concerns as the young woman began to show signs developing into a genuine Jedi Knight.

After thirteen years of training Piell believed his Padawan was ready for her trials and suggested she partake in them to the Jedi Council. The Council assigned the pair a mission for her Trial, a Dark Side cult was rumored to be taking root in a Twi’lek commune on the planet of Ryloth; the pair was assigned to discover the being behind this corruption and root them out of the population. Whoever was responsible for these acts had claimed the Jedi Watchman over Ryloth, Dark Side magic was believed to have been used upon her. Piell believed this mission to be entirely too risky for a Padawan to take as a trial but he submitted to the will of the Council and he left with the now fully grown Kass to Ryloth.

The pair landed on Ryloth’s eternally darkened side, it was known as the locals as “the Nightside” of the planet and in a way held its own unique beauty. Piell sensed the corruption on the planet as they landed, he had been informed of the cult’s activities; sentient sacrifices, rumors of Sithspawn sightings, and non-Twi’lek citizens dying for no apparent natural cause. Beforehand these incidents had been confined to a particular area on the planet, a small commune; however now the incidents were starting to bleed into other communes and a single major city. Piell knew rooting out this issue wouldn’t be an easy task and finding the being responsible for these actions would become even harder as the indigenous population became aware of the Jedi presence on Ryloth.

For three years the pair built relationships with the population, aiding them in areas that were required all whilst continuing their investigation of this Cult. Kass had built a relationship with an older Twi’lek gentleman she believed was an informant looking to leave the Cult; through this contact she was able to infiltrate several Cult meetings with him. Piell became concerned as Kass began viewing the Cult as innocent of the charges claimed against them and claimed this investigation was unneeded that the Jedi were just growing paranoid. Kass began to exhibit signs of her prideful nature as she attended more meetings, causing Piell to doubt his Padawans stability and dedication to the Jedi way of life.

After a week of hearing her recite cult mantra, focusing on purely herself and her desires, and seeking power over others Piell decided she was not ready to become a Jedi Knight. However before he could inform her of her failure on her Trial and that they would be returning back to Tython, she vanished. Piell’s suspicions had been confirmed this “contact” she had been in contact with never intended on leaving the cult; instead he had masterfully manipulated Kass into seeing the Cult in his light. Piell had conducted his own investigation while Kass attempted to complete her Trial, he knew where the cult’s main meetings were held and intended to use the support of the Rylothian population to crush the head of this serpent once and for all. Piell with the support of just over a thousand various life forms moved on the large Twi’lek colony, they battled there for days, sieging the commune until the majority of the population surrendered and were taken prisoner. Rumors began to spread of a Zabrak slaughtering warriors; they spoke of her strength, speed, and ruthlessness. Piell’s heart broke as his worst fears were confirmed; his Padawan had fallen to the Dark Side.

Days later the Rylothian forces were able to push into the Commune, but were met with corpses that had been ritualistically slaughter, among them laid the dying form of Kass. Her body was covered in fresh wounds, signs of combat but the most prevalent was a wound to her gut, she had been impaled. Kass used her dying moments not to apologize to her Master but to explain where the Cult Leader had gone to and warn him of his now massive power. Kass then passed away, she died in the defense of the innocent and thus died a Jedi in Piell’s eyes; however Piell knew this Dark Side Priest had to be stopped before he could cause more devastation to the Rylothian people.

The Priest had gone to a small shrine at the border of the Night Land and was attempting to call forth a Smoke Demon from the Void. He fully intended on laying waste to anyone who stood against him on Ryloth and begin founding his own Empire, something Piell couldn’t allow. Piell interrupted the Priest’s ritual and began to duel with the man, the Priest sensed Piell’s anger towards him due to the death of Kass and attempted to seduce Piell in a similar way he had seduced Kass. Piell proved more resilient and much to the priest’s dismay began to overwhelm him through his Mastery of Soresu. The Priest unleashed a massive Force Repulse throwing Piell backwards and allowing him to gain the upper hand.

It was in this moment that Piell lost his eye, the force blade from this Priest sliced into Piell’s face ruining his left eye. Piell however returned the kindness in the form of Force Light, as the blade connected with Piell the pure Light Side energy ran up the length of the blade and into the Priest, severing him from the Dark Side and making him just the average criminal. The Priest then attempted to sway Piell into killing him to avenge his Padawan, in which Piell responded with the deactivation of his Lightsaber. The Priest was then taken into Rylothian custody and transferred to the Jedi/Galactic Alliance prison until his judgment was passed. When Piell returned to Tython he was greeted with not only smiles but the Title of Master, a title given to him for his bravery in the face of darkness and his ability to overcome his darker emotions.

Upon his promotion Piell again spent nearly a decade in self-improvement, he perfected his style of Soresu, and began to show mastery over Niman, and his understanding of the Living Force expanded further than it ever had. Piell now has begun sharing his knowledge with Younglings, Initiates, and Knights of the Jedi Order ensuring that all future generations of Jedi possess everything he can offer to them. Despite his personal beliefs Piell knows that as this rising tide of darkness threatens to envelope everything he holds dear, he must again take a stand next to his brothers to delay this coming darkness.

As his role play list expands this section will too.

Personality:
Piell is a staunch believer that to truly be a Jedi is a constant pattern of learning new techniques and then sharing your knowledge with others. It is for this reason Piell will often spend decades mastering new arts to teach to his fellow Jedi in an effort to better the Order as a whole. Piell believes that the Jedi currently should be busying themselves not only evacuating the Younglings and Initiates to secure Enclaves to continue their training far away from this Sith threat but that they should be aiding the Galactic Alliance in delaying the Sith war machine. Piell in that sense believes that the Force is calling the Jedi to raise their Lightsabers in defense of the innocent and to be willing to rejoin it should their sacrifice save countless others. Piell believes these are defining moments for not only the Jedi but the Galactic Alliance and in these moments the portion of the free galaxy will be determined.

While Piell has a serious demeanor on assigned missions or other explicit Jedi business, he typically is found to be quite the charming little old Lannik. He is often found smiling and enjoying the beauty of his surroundings or chuckling at the youthful antics of young initiates. Although he has a deep respect for both Old and New Jedi customs and codes, he often tries to both teach and train his Padawans in such a manner that will both captivate them and provide entertainment while they learn what it means to be a Jedi Knight of the New Jedi Order. This stems from Piell's own youthful spirit which is held captive by his aging body and his intense love for puzzles or complicated obstacle courses that challenge the mind and body. Unfortunately, due to his age he is no longer as capable of solving these physically demanding challenges, instead he designs new and innovative puzzles or courses to test the capabilities of his youthful learners.

Despite this pleasant demeanor and interesting way of teaching Padawans, Piell is very aware of the Dark Side and it's effects on an individual. The pleasant Lannik Jedi Master is quick to react if he sees the signs of the Dark Side taking root in his Padawan not through chastisement as many other Jedi would but through loving guidance. This is possible due to the time Piell invests in his Padawan outside of mere training, he is often seen just spending time with his Padawan and building a strong relationship with the aspiring Jedi to establish trust between the two and solidify a strong relationship. This almost Parent and Child bond between Piell and his current Padawan is due to his firm belief in the next generation of Jedi and knowing what they face is far more grim then anything his generation had to stand against (and perhaps possibly responsible for allowing to occur.)

While alone, Piell can be found attuning himself to the Light Side as he goes about his daily duties. Piell, himself follows a more ancient code that predates even that of the Old Jedi Order, he follows the Original Jedi Code and believes it to be the most pure form and description of a Jedi's duties. The effects of this are found in his training, work, and daily life as he focuses all his energy into a single task until it is complete far beyond that of the minimal requirements. It is this reason that the aging Lannik has earned an excellent reputation amongst the Jedi across Galactic Alliance Space.
(Personality is WIP and will be expanded as I write)

I like the bio, but is his last name just a coincidence or what? :p I thought we weren't allowed to have descendants/ancestors of canon characters

Oh, neat. I was probably thinking of another roleplay.

No, you weren't. Having a character descended from a canon character requires Admin permission.
C.2. Please also note that when creating your character’s name, canon last names are not allowed. There should be no one named Qel-Droma, Organa, Solo, Katarn or anything else from canon. The galaxy is far too big for the ancestors or descendants of major characters to be running around fighting the bad guys at the same time.

I know this is mostly a matter of style and preference, but why is this profile spread over the width of three posts?

First of all, it was Tross Wilum (Tross being his first name with one 'L').

Second of all, I got admin approval on both. So, I would have to say descendants, for the large part, are not allowed save for Admin approval.

I mean, no one really knows Oss Wilum anyway, so he wasn't a big deal (at least in my opinion. I haven't talked to anyone about it). The thing with Tuwan was that T'ra was the last known and recorded Neti. It makes for a nice back story and I didn't want to pull one out from no where. I guess it helps that I downplay (whatever the opposite of powerplay is) all of my characters too, but meh. >.>
