It sounds far more glorious than it was in reality... I hadn't showered or slept in almost forty-eight hours, I hadn't eaten anything but a MRE, and I had a thick layer of sand and dust covering my entire body. But yes, it was one of those rare moments I enjoyed myself to some degree.

Actually, they put another soldier under me, gave me a Humvee, then said, "Uh, yeah... just drive around and make it look like we're actively patrolling." So I just drove around in the sandstorm with my iPod touch blasting AC/DC, jumping sand dunes, etc... fun stuff.
