The booth is suspended over a platform. Semantics, really. Don't worry about it. Anyhow, Avya can't open booth yet. That would activate bomb. Bomb is on undercarriage of platform. She has to disable it whilst dangling from it with no backup harnesses.

As I said, think a giant ferris wheel. Stationary superstructure with rotating gyro on grav rails. Its suspended with the top booth on the wheel being all the way up.

Noooo, that's going to be a crushing blow to Vaiya. Well, yes more training would be great, also it would be great if we could RP the timeframe about two weeks before she leaves on her mission. I mean, while she probably wont be much use, at this point Vaiya would follow you (with or without consent) given their past. I think it would be cool to see them interact knowing what's likely to happen, and juat pretty much seeing Vaiya's attitude towards things change god forbid Avya does die.
