Ok sorry for such a low polly made vehical and crappy update but I havent had much inspiration lattly so I only have one new model and the textures are low on it since i still don't know how to make textures for my models.

well I'm makeing them low poly count since I may use them in a mod I have been trying get working on Homeworld 2. I also don't know how to texture so I am stuck useing pre made ones that don't always work.

Ah okay, crappy game. Kind of like the game I mod for is JKA, which needs quite a low poly count.


Texturing isn't really that hard. It looks hard, but when you open your mind to the possibilities you realize you don't need much detail at all, and you just do it. That's actually why I gave up modelling, because I wasn't satisfied with the quality I was getting.



EDIT: Looking at that speeder bike again, it looks like a lego speeder bike...

look for tutorials on texturing.

Basically you export an image with a 2d cutout of you model, which you then paint on... for mechanical and low poly models... high poly... well only the experts know...

I have they all suck cause they don't explain how to fix the faces if it unwraps wrong they just go this is how you do it and then jump straight to the fixed version. so I have been looking for books.

Looking at that speeder bike again, it looks like a lego speeder bike...

that were my thoughts to when I looked at it.

If it unwraps wrong, find out what's wrong, and scale/rotate the 2D version to compensate so you can texture better. I've never textured from scratch before, but it seems like a logical (if not tedious) explanation.

I used 3ds max and gmax, so... It unwrapped manuallyish, kinda weird but it worked...

Oh my gawdzz. I started using Gmax.

Then I realized the Carcass compiler only worked on 3dsmax, which cost money, so I moved to XSI Mod Tool.



Anyway, congratz at the win.

Neither was I. I just dropped all my knowledge (not a lot) to my bud Sprite and went on my way.

fine with me I'm always up for the practice. I just hope you don't expect an extravigant texturing done to it, cause like I stated above I use alot of pre-made textures that don't always work.
