Varyn had been planning this job for quite a while, but that didn't really stop him from feeling nervous. For all his time undercover, he didn't feel like it had paid off much. A bit here and there, but it seemed like he'd done more to actually help the Empire than he did to defeat it. It had called all sorts of his decisions into question in his own mind, and left him feeling more bad than good about his work. The Jedi were so... passive. The resistance lacked motivation or direction, and Varyn decided he needed to find his motivation from within himself. After all, that was what had sent him undercover in the first place: his own assertiveness.

Reaching out to one of his contacts in the resistance, he had put in motion a plan that he thought would work. The resistance lacked the means of invading and occupying worlds, but that didn't mean they couldn't create some trouble.

He ran over the plan in his mind again, but it once again stuck in his mind that the "plan" sounded more like a plan that a Sith would come up with than a Jedi. No doubt it was a byproduct of the fact that he'd spent the last two years undercover in the Sith with absolutely minimal contact with the Jedi. It was bound to rub off on him one way or another.

He tried to push thoughts of what Vahl would say if she knew he were doing this out of his mind as well. He knew a double life would be hard, but kriff, he'd never expected to start actually having doubts about things. He'd seen the hate on the Jedi side of this war and the decent people on the Imperial side. It brought up questions he didn't have answers to.

He pushed the thoughts from his mind for the moment, instead focusing on the task at hand. He was meeting his contact on one of the civilian area of the Sluis Van shipyards. Not that it was a prime place for people to vacation or anything, but it had excellent refueling and refitting stations as well as a handful of cheap restaurants, general entertainment, and cheap alcohol. Probably spice too judging by the scent drifting through the air.

Varyn stood at a viewport in a frequented part of the entertainment district, clad in a suit of IDF armor, and waited for his contact to arrive. His lightsaber was strategically hidden, but an E-11 blaster was slung in his holster. Not that he expected to need it. He was an Imperial on an Imperial world, after all. The planet below was just lighting up as the sun's first rays struck it, and Varyn let out a small hum at the beautiful sight. This was one of the nice things about his work, at least: he got to see all sorts of things others could only dream of.

OOC: open to no more than 2 opposition. More intrigue than PvP.

Glassy eyes stared down at a crudely crafted Dathomirian trinket in the palm of his hand. Glassy eyes were those of one in deep thought and memory, mixing pain with joy, sorrow with peace and resentment with hope. So was the dichotomy of Tristan when thinking of the past. Growing frustrated of involuntarily reliving the past he threw the stone onto the co-pilot's seat.

Looking up he couldn't dare count all the ships passing by his own docked frigate. Not wanting to waste any more time than he already has, Tristan threw up his hood and made his way down the studded exit ramp of his ship and into the swelling and waning crowds cutting though the massive ocean of people with the occasional shove or push. This was adequate
enough to carve a pay to his desired destination. The smell of the huddled masses almost made him wanna fall on his lightsaber but he was determined to find out what Master Kemny had left for him. His immediate guess was something rather important. Afterall, she had bequeathed the "Swift Justice" to him in her will but made special provisions for this? This pointed towards something serious, maybe more so than he could possibly imagine.

Tristan, couldn't shake the thought though. He was here for something very specific, something that had been hidden and yet bequeathed to him. Something that may proof useful in the days and weeks to come. His mind was consumed with what it may be. Did Master Kemny leave instructions for one last technique, a stash of credits or maybe this was one last practical joke from beyond the grave. in whatever case. Tristan was here to find out

Tristan kept both his lightsabers dutifully hidden. A Jedi's greatest strength could at times be normality. That is to say, appearing as the average citizens of the Galaxy rather than its eternal guardians. This remained doubly so for Tristan's current "Mission" to meet a vendor in the entertainment district. an old confidant of his late Master. What this man had to offer or reveal to Tristan was yet a mystery. But as of now, it confirms what he already knew about Master Kemny. She liked to associate with less than reputable characters.

If Tristan was to guess however this may be from her pre-Jedi years, maybe a childhood friend. Regardless, speculation would only get him so far. He would have to wait and see who this figure truly was. In the accomplishment of that goal, Tristan took a armed crossed leaning stance against the nearest structure, keeping eyes firmly peeled for his contact ready to wait for a while...That was until he sensed another force sensitive @Varyn Atrix

Varyn once again checked his chrono to confirm what he already knew. His contact from the resistance was late, and that didn't bode well. He had two choices: abandon the mission or carry on on his own. Or was there a third option? Maybe he could lay some foundations now, carry out the full mission later, and not feel like this was a total loss.

Flow with it. See where the Force leads, he thought to himself. He'd been undercover in the Sith for the better part of two years now, and that hadn't done anything to help his paranoia, but it had honed his senses. Something felt off to him even though he hadn't a clue what it was. Granted, sometimes he felt like things were "off" just to find out that it was no more significant than someone was running late. He filed the thought away, kept his eyes peeled, and started to move.

His mind shuffled through options, figuring out how he was going to repurpose this plan for only one person. To be honest, it probably was a one person job, but when you were doing something important it was nice to have A) someone watching your back and B) some way to communicate the important information back to the Resistance.

That'll come later, he told himself.

For the moment, he headed toward the Imperial district. He knew he'd have no difficulty getting inside with his clearance, but getting inside wasn't the problem. He passed a pair of troopers on patrol and gave them a polite nod before continuing on his way. The district was crowded with people of all walks of life, but most gave at least a small birth to someone dressed in trooper armor. No one wanted to get stopped and questioned for being fishy.

This was one of two things. Both interesting. This force sensitive he sensed was the individual he was looking for...or we may have a friend or foe here. Force sensitives didn't commonly traffic this part of the Galaxy all that often which gave credence to the latter of those possibilities. Afterall, what type of latent force user could be here? He was here but he was the expectation, he was a known rouge in the order. He didn't think or act like most jedi. Maybe a second Jedi rouge?

Sensing something or someone thought the force could be compared to the ripples of water one feels when more than themselves occupy a lake. That is to say, it was distinctive and unmistakable. Someone close by was a Jedi or Sith....or simply unaware of their force sensitivity.

With all bets hinged, he began to follow the source. keeping a good tracking distance from what he assumed was the origin point of that person. It was one of these moments that Tristan wishes he had a protocol droid or any other droid that could stay where he couldn't. he didn't wanna mistake this individual for the vendor but yet wanted to find out who this was, maybe this was history repeating itself. Master Kemny had found him in a unexpecting place while other important tasks lingered. Maybe he was about to find his own padawan. @Varyn Atrix

Tiamat had just finished a luncheon with Sluis Van engineers and left feeling an absence of confidence they understood what she was talking about. She did her best to dumb down the lingo, she understood not everyone in the galaxy was a leading astro-navigational expert such as herself. However, she felt she was able to explain it well enough in layman's terms while still integrating engineering terms they would understand. Though a trickle of doubt also nestled in the possibility they believed her work was too good to be true. Which...would not be the first time others have expressed it directly too her.

She scratched her head, feeling the stress under her own nails as she just felt ready to undo the braids wrapped around her head and change into some sweatpants instead of stomping around in her formal attire. She should have probably just worn civie attire, everyone seems to respond better with it.

Holopad tucked under her arm, she crossed the courtyard to a neighboring building and begun to enter her keycode.

ACCESS DENIED

Tiamat sighed and entered another...

ACCESS DENIED

Tiamat growled in annoyance, eyes narrowing to the denial buzzer.

ACCESS DENIED

Nope...

"Arrrgghhh...." she huffed and turned on her heel, spotting a trooper (@Phoenix) who seemed to be leisurely taking his time to his lunch break or something, "Trooper," she waved him over, "I need assistance. Can you open this door."

Varyn was about to head into the fresher and locker room when someone addressed him. It actually caught him pretty off-guard since he wasn't really expecting anyone to acknowledge him right now. He already knew his story, but he'd prefer to be unseen rather than... actually deal with people. Whether that's because he didn't want the attention or he was just his usual somewhat-antisocial self is up to reader's discretion.

Problem with your code cylinder, ma'am? he asked. Based on her uniform he could tell she outranked him regardless of being a Sith or an officer.

You know we're not really supposed to just buzz people through without their clearance being in place, he said. It was actually true. It defeated the purpose of having code cylinders if someone else was just buzzing you in. Not that Varyn really cared, but he definitely didn't need to be getting written up for breaking regulations. The fact that it also kept his own code cylinder off the records was just a bonus.

Down a partner, Varyn could only hope the Force might provide him with another distraction to pull attention away from his mission. He had absolutely no idea that there was a Jedi here, but maybe that would be the answer to his hopes. Though it'd be a little weird since Varyn would have to help hunt said Jedi. Was he ready to sacrifice another Jedi for the cause? The fact that he didn't even want to voice the answer to that in his head was probably a bad sign.

If you need an escort to the security center to have it reset I can do that, but otherwise... well, I was about to use the 'fresher, he said. It was... trueish, and also something that would hopefully relieve him of her. After all, she couldn't very well follow him in there.

Brown eyes closed as numerous sounds around him faded to nothing. He was going to pinpoint the person from which the force so resonated from. This was much easier when a force user or force sensitive was surrounded by a sea of non-force sensitives. After a few seconds of focus he had him...about 20 feet away, he glow like a beacon, magnetism on a metal world if you would.

He didn't look the type, Tristan was not close enough to make out the smallest details with his normal eyes but he could see the armor. in his mind he was perhaps imagining a cloaked figure like himself or a unaware child. Not this time. Breaking the mold in two ways it seemed.

The Imperial district was no issue for him, at least he would think as a patrol of guards stood between himself and this mysterious man who seemed to carry the force unaware. Wading though the crowd like a swimmer in the sea he made his way towards the man. When stop by the guards he simply toyed with their tiny minds with the standard telepathic sway remarking

"I have clearance and am allowed to cross"

This was done subtly with his hand barley reaching up from under his cloak. Master Kemny had the wisdom to instill in Tristan that direction could be achieved by direct means, this is to say that one needs not take a separate route from the main road to be just as sneaky. With the guards now "persuaded" to let him pass unmolested he made his way towards the man. He seemed to be mid conversation with a woman who appeared to be Sith by uniform. This keep revelation changed his mind, he wouldn't rush right up to make conversation but instead make a keen right turn onto a near by bench. He would sit and wait. Once she left or was otherwise removed from his presence he would make an introduction. This Sith business though...it stifled his confidence on the man's allegiance if he had any to begin with that is. This didn't mean anything in itself. Unless he talked to this man soon he would be drowing in more questions and unprovable hypotheses. His only comfort on this imperial world was that his Shoto and Lightsaber hung on the waist outside of view. Looking down to where they would be on him if in open view he
remarked..

"You may yet see action"

"Of course I have a clearance." she said, and well, no that was not all true, she knew exactly where she was going and knew she probably was not permitted there without an escort. "It must of gotten damaged." she said looking down at the code cylinder and frowned, "But that's why I called you over, can you let me in, or if you absolutely have to take me to the security center, we can spend extra time doing that." she frowned, blue eyes glancing at him with a bashful play, giving the sense of awkwardness that she even needed to ask for help.

Glancing at him and over his shoulder, she mistakenly made eye contact with another trooper, this one seeming to find it unusual for the two of them standing at this entrance and walked over with two other support troopers.

"Everything all right here?" the leader of the trio asked in a raspy voice, their tall statue gave Tiamat the impression they were some sort of humanoid beneath the helmet and armor.

"Its fine, my code cylinder seems to be damaged," she nodded her head to Varyn, "He's just following protocol, I'm just trying to get inside to get back to work." Tiamat explained, easily putting up an innocent charm.

"We do not have the keycode to let you enter, trooper, take her to the security center so she can get a temporary pass." ordered the humanoid trooper. Tiamat frowned, not happy with the detour and delay, but would accept the setback as she gave a nod, "Carry on." they ordered before the trio moved on on their patrol.

Tiamat looked at Varyn and gestured for him to lead the way, "Hopefully your 'fresher isn't too out of the way." she hummed.

Varyn really didn't have time for dealing with this woman's... whatever ridiculous problems she was having. If she didn't have security clearance then he didn't really care. He shoved the thoughts from his mind, maintaining the aura of calm externally. His veneer of hiding his emotions was well practiced after two years undercover.

Maybe the Force has led this into your path for a reason, he thought to himself. And then she was waving troopers over. Oh come oooon, man, he said to himself. He was completely oblivious to the fact that she was apparently doing something naughty herself. All he really cared about was getting back to his own work.

Come on, he said, his tone pretty clearly showing he wasn't thrilled about this as he led her to the security center. Still, he did his duty. Technically, this was within his work flow, and nothing he'd done was out of the ordinary for a Sith. Well, except perhaps his armor choice being a little unusual, but frankly he normally wore IAC armor, and he was sure some Sith wore IDF armor as standard.

He moved at a brisk pace to the security center and made sure the woman was in tow.

This lady has a problem with her code cylinder. I'm going to leave her with you to get it sorted out and get back to my work, he said, nodding and leaving before anyone could object.

Yeah, we'll get it sorted. What's the problem ma'am. May I see your code cylinder? he asked, extending a hand to her. By now, Varyn was gone. He was not going to stick around for her to try to get him to do something else.

He had a fresher to visit, dang it!

He couldn't follow forever, that was clear. He had to make that clear move for introduction or he'd be following this man home. His rise from the bench was rivaled only by the speed he summoned to keep up with the armored man and the Sith woman. His robes whirled and flapped as the wind caught them. His opportunity however seemed to have shown itself as from the back he could spot the Sith woman being left or possibly leaving herself with a new set of guards, thus leaving Tristan's subject of interests alone and quickly speeding off.

Tristan had to strike now, he thought about calling on the force to alter his speed to quickly dart forward before his subject of interest could leave but given his incognito status now, that would cause more problems than he wanted to deal with now. He was speeding away, and fast. His natural speed would have to suffice as he picked his legs up in ever quicker intervals a odd situation from the slow deliberate pace he was attempted to keep prior to now.

His fast pace semi-jog would of been fine in a open field or desolate country roads on Dantooine, or maybe if he had been pacing closer. but this was a populated area, people in his way, ever shifting and more importantly the guards who watched them and himself. A speedy citizen in a hooded robe would raise the suspension of even the laziest, lowpaied, do-nothing guards in the galaxy and this was an imperial world.

He wouldn't catch him without drawing to much attention to himself....However he did have the last person he was with, who could recall his face, maybe name and combined with the force signature he was resonating, he would be able to find him anywhere. His only hope was he wasn't leaving off world.

Backtracking slightly he found her and the guards. His approach towards them was accorse met by a slight approach from the guards wishing to know his business, with a raised hand so low none but the guard could see he indeed gave them his business

"You have been working a long shift, i know you certainty wanna take a break and maybe a catch a drink at the cantina....ill help this lady with her probelem, reeeeeeelax"

with a slow and malacotic repeating of his own words the guards drifted down towards the entertainment district leaving Tristan and the women alone. With a quick step towards her he got right to the point

"Who was that armored guard with you?"

Tiamat followed quietly, examining her own code cylinder as they approached the security office; the trooper explained what was happening and then took off. He must have not been kidding about using the refresher. Tiamat handed the code cylinder to the security team as they asked what was wrong with it. "I uh, I think it got damaged, its not letting me in." she frowned and folded her arms, patiently waiting to tell her what they thought was wrong with the device. Though, her patients quickly became null as a stranger approached the group, the light of the Force, a Jedi's weapon, emitted from the newcommer (@Apostate Satanicus) and instantly Tiamat felt her blood roil.

She watched as he used a Jedi mind trick to tell the guards to bail before turning to her to ask her about the trooper who led her here. The woman's eyes narrowed and in an attempt to keep him from running, the dark side would quickly coil around the Jedi who just decided to reveal himself to the Sith Master. The jedi would feel the strength of the woman's power, clearly someone more powerful and experienced than himself; there was a finesse in her ability in the dark side as she looked to keep him in place. There was no means for her to just let him go or to answer his questions; was he serious about the refresher trooper? Was he a spy or worse, a Jedi also?

Ensuring she kept her eye on the Jedi, ready to defend or pacify him again, she hit a call button on the comm relay, "ALERT, BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR A ROGUE TROOPER, LAST SEEN LEAVING THE SECURITY CENTER HEADING TO THE REFRESHERS, MOST LIKELY TO DISCARD THE DISGUISE."

She turned her attention back to the Jedi as the area went on lockdown, whoever this Jedi was and whoever his friend was hiding (@Phoenix ) they were not going to leave this world.

"Druk!"

he had felt the tinge, calling on him to move and at a good pace but he couldn't. The Dark Side was truly a powerful entity, it had him for a moment, feeding on his deeper emotions. That was the seduction however, that was the trick. This was a small battle being waged though the force and he retorted with the light, using it to break though just long enough to move. without thinking he summed the force in his legs to preform the backward Su Ma, the iconic rotational jump of the forth form of lightsaber combat, Ataru. Landing perfectly into a run.

he ran down the road, taking every odd corner and turn he could to quickly get out of sight and into a big enough crowd. he didn't even sense her until then, avoidable folly. This is what he gets for focusing so strongly on a single force signature. The Dark side was so strongly felt and obvious. Nothing he could do about it now though. Cover was blown and he was face to face with a Sith. he had to get away. For a moment nothing mattered, not what Master Kemny wanted him to find here, not the force sensitive man. Nothing. He had just possibly woken up the whole
Karking world!

Varyn honestly had no idea what had happened behind him, but he did hear an alert going out through comms about a rogue trooper. And he knew his partner hadn't shown up. And he could hear alarms going off. It was all enough for him to say that the mission was screwed, and he wasn't going to stick around.

He managed to make it to the docks because... well, he wasn't a rogue trooper. He was a Sith with all the proper clearance he needed to be here.

Walk, don't run, he reminded himself. His instincts told him to run as quickly as he could back to the ship, but he didn't. Instead, he calmly boarded and stowed his gear, preparing and working through all the necessary procedures for lift off.

Can't win them all, he told himself as he pulled back on the controls to leave the system.

She watched as the jedi narrowly avoided her grasp, jumping in some elaborate move that she didn't even think was necessary, she wondered briefly if the Jedi Order were so pressed for soldiers, if they were just letting anyone join. To just walk up and not really be cautious as to whom he would be speaking to, nor seemed to care if he was hiding who he truly was on a world that would tear him apart once imperials got a hold of him.

Tiamat swiped her code cylinder from the counter were the Imperials had placed it before leaving. Chatter on the comms were urgent as they searched for the intruders. Imperial troopers ensured they bothered citizens for ID checks and the Sith woman watched the comm screens for anyone suspicious leaving the refreshers. Though the next question laid to mind if he even went inside one despite heading in that direction. It would be worth for ISB to investigate further, she started to ask herself how he knew where to go, the security location, and was leading a Jedi (rather dumb) through the district.

Eventually the redheaded woman would leave the search to the security teams, sitting back and waiting for the new patrols to take their position here since the blasted jedi sent the others away. Worked delayed, thanks to some flippant jedi.
