A Drink Between Two Duellists

[Mr. Crunchy]

Malani walked into the Outlander Club, watching as Link Nono - a Jedi Knight nonetheless - came in tow. The club was huge and loud, with people dancing everywhere. The Togruta ex-Jedi made sure her lightsaber was at the ready in case a reveller got too rowdy and tried to attack her or worse.

It had been long since she had been in a real club, not since she had begun her exile on Naboo anyway. She walked over to a bar, letting Link sit down.

"What'll it be?" A skimpily clad Twi'lek said, putting a glass she had been cleaning down. She oozed anything but class, and Malani knew that the punters loved that.

"Two Naboo wines," Malani replied loudly, trying to have her voice heard over the thumping beat of the music. The Twi'lek gave her an odd look, as if she was some kind of freak. Who was buying expensive fancy pants drinks like that anymore anyway? Soon enough, she had two pristine glasses filled to the top with the ruby liquid Malani had come so accustomed to drinking. Picking them both up, she walked over to where Link was sitting.

"Here you go, boy. I hope you don't mind wine," She said loudly, not unkindly, placing both glasses down on the table and sitting down opposite Link.

 

[Zen]

Link sat patiently waiting as The woman came in he spoke."I don't drink unless I am focusing on something and it's part of my force healing thingy, A. He paused before dazing he did not in tend to be rude or anything so, he took the wine. Be fore looking at it, and sighing in a form of way that something was up.

 

[Mr. Crunchy]

"Ah well, I guess I shall just have to drink for both of us!" Laughed the philosopher, never one to pass up a good time. She took a hearty drink of her wine, but felt through the Force that something was up with her new-found chum. "So, what's the matter? I feel your emotions through the Force," She said conversationally, taking another tiny sip from her wine.

 

[Zen]

He looked at her and then sighed, Take a bit of a sip of the wine before speaking."Life is to short lived, and boring without a Mate and a girl. There's this Jedi Knight I love. I said to much I'rd rather not say more." He passed and took another sip of the wine, glancing around he had seen the dances, drunk people, A bit of a fight starting, talking, And other stuff, and then wait back looking at the wine cup. He was hurt and heart broken, he still Loved Kalza even though she did not love him.

 

[Mr. Crunchy]

Malani gave an understanding nod. "Trust me, the Jedi don't take too kindly on the whole romance thing. It's one of the reasons why I left. Individualised compassion was taken badly, but widely spread compassion? That was fine - encouraged in fact," She said, voicing her out-spoken views to the young Jedi Knight.

 

[Zen]

He looked at her and gave a fake smile. Before speaking."I have never followed there code, I am forced to just to have a life there, study, and other things, a The Girl I love. And The temple is really my home. Mind If you get two more glasses of wine, I'll pay for them."Link said slowly, he wasn't a lightweight just his emotions, and the wine was getting the better of him.

 

[Mr. Crunchy]

"So if you don't believe in the ways of the Jedju, why stay with them?" Malani questioned, ignoring Link's query about the wine for a moment. She had left the Jedi after not being able to follow their beliefs herself, after all.

 

[Zen]

He shook his head before speaking."The Morals, The studying,training padawans, Studying, Kalza the girl I love, And the temple. Seeing as I have no other place to go. Jedi temple is my home."He said slowly, looking at her. And finishing the glass.

 

[Mr. Crunchy]

Malani gave a tiny nod, understanding. The Order was the only thing he had ever known, just like she had felt. He couldn't walk away from his whole life with the Jedi, and she understood that. Walking over to the bar without another word, she ordered two more wines from the increasingly rowdy looking barmaid. When she got back to the table, she set the wines down again.

"So, tell me a little about yourself," She said friendlily, settling back into her seat and eager to make some idle conversation.

 

[Zen]

He shook his head taking his end of the wine."Your turn for answering my questions, I do not yet know your name, How can you so friendly to me. What if I was acting this whole time which I was not. But I would not be Rude I am Link Nono, I will however tell about myself, If only you have opened up as well, Surfing me a wine won't get me drunk and to open information I apologize for my rudeness but it's only fair if you understand." He said slowly.

 

[Mr. Crunchy]

Malani gave a tiny little smirk. So he was guarded against letting secrets slip, he must be a good Jedi. "My name is Malani Vu. I am a Togruta from Shili, but lived out most of my life as a Jedi on Ossus and Coruscant. I left the order ten years ago due to a conflict between my person philosophical beliefs and theirs, and have been living on Naboo until recently," She explained briefly, then gestured with a rolling hand for it to be Link's turn to tell a bit about himself, taking a sip of her wine.

He was not sure if she was telling the truth or not but every person. Has every right to live a second chance weather a Dark jedi about to die in the hands of the jedi, HE would maybe need a spare and maybe he would regret the things he has done and go rogue or not and do something crazy, Every person to delivered life, Fate, Great trust although it was not easy getting trust back after you lose it."I am the Strongest, Force Healer in the Jedi Order, As a Jedi Knight, Kalza, Is the second or at the same level as me so both of us are an equal at force healing. As you have seen I specialization In healing, And The Force, that's why you didn't quite get me by surprised, although your attack had power. If only you did something right, I would have died, I am sure glad you did not strike when I jumped or I would be Dead. Once I cam close to you. And you seen me struggle with my lightsaber this proves I lack Lightsaber combat." He paused before sipping some wine, and turning his hand as to say your turn.He did not wish to talk about his life just yet, Not until she can get his trust.

 

[Mr. Crunchy]

Malani gave a little chuckle. "By the Force! I never aimed to kill you, my boy. I am a stricly non-combat person unless it is called upon, but I do spend hours a day refining my lightsaber techniques. You duelled well - it was very well played," She said with a wide, genuine smile. She took a long drink from her wine and then placed it back down on the glass table.

 

[Zen]

Link slammed the glass towards the table and spoke."To be honest, I do not like people who are liars, I know I suck and Lack Lightsaber combat, That's why I forfeited, to not cause any major injure to myself That I was in capable of healing, like a lost Limb." He said picking the glass up and finishing before speaking."Please get us four more."He said slowly, he was a bit on edge but not drunk not yet, but still unstable.

 

[Mr. Crunchy]

Malani paused for a moment, narrowing her eyes. "Are you sure you want more to drink? Also - what I meant was that even if you had less than satisfactory skills with a blade you still played out the course of the duel well, that is all," She explained hurriedly, not wanting to provoke a scene in the busy club.

 

[Zen]

"Of course both of us do, You do wait to tell about yourself more, and it's your turn anyways, None the less. It's better to talk a great story while drinking, although I prefer doing this with guys, Not Women, Just in case you get drunk do you have a place crash a hotel, where I can put you there, and make sure you do not get into a drunk fight?" He asked worried, if he got drunk first then he was a bloody lightweight.

Malani rolled her eyes. Men. Ignoring Link, she simply strolled over to the bar and ordered another round from a different barmaid, a Devaronian this time. As she walked back to the table, she saw the Twi'lek barmaid being lead into the toilets by a human. How classy. Placing the drinks on the table, she noticed that the last four wine glasses had been cleared. This pleased her, as she didn't want to appear as some kind of alcoholic, by no means.

 

[Zen]

He took one glass and sipped it before he coughed."What the hell is this?"He asked before placing it down. He was talking about the Woman being lead towards the toilet, Damn Those humans, and there urges. Even though he was a Human he would only have those urges for Kalza no one else. HE looked at her before smiling."My dear, We are in a club and judging by the facial expression and the force, you feel like you don't want to end up like our kind drunk, Well we drinking fair, I will however place the bottles myself, I only ask One Favor, I wish to stay in your room in the hotel or ship, Till I am fully stable and don't do any thing stupid, as I was saying your turn express yourself."He asked and told Or requested it to her.

Malani giggled, nodding at Link. She was appearing slightly more jolly from the amount of wine she had consumed, and was happy to let the handsome young knight share a bunk on her ship for a little while. Sipping the rest of her wine, she didn't say a further word but it was obvious she was more than happy to oblige to the Jedi Knight's request. If anything, he was a desperate young man.

 

[Zen]

He finished his other glass, and there was one left. He finished the second one. before speaking."I think we should go before anything bad happens, maybe we can resume our little chat on your ship or hotel room. I think I have enough of this wine for today." He asked, before bringing the glasses back and paying for it, and let out a gentle hand to her. Hopeful she;ll take it, and he can help her stand, then he would let go and follow her lead if she said yes.
