Olmurani walked into the lightsaber training room. It was empty of all teachers and learners so this was the perfect time to have a little bit of practice. He was supposed to meet his friend, Anaru. "I guess I'll just wait here for Anaru."He thought as he stood in the middle of the room.

Anaru walked into the room, with his hair and robes flowing behind him. He pushed open the door with one hand and walked in. "You summoned me?" Anaru asked with a curved smile.

"I hope you've been practicing and learning from yesterdays lesson." Said Anaru as he reached into his robe and pulled out his green lightsaber, and switched it on. "You might find me to be a little bit of a challenge!"

As he said this he stepped out with his left foot into a fighting stance, and raised his lightsaber above his head.

Olmurani looked at his friend with an incredulous smile on his face.
"Don't tell me you've forgoten that we haveto use training sabers in this room."
He said as he held his hand out to his right side and, using the force, pulled one of the training lightsabers on the rack to his hand.
Olmurani activated the saber. A green glow was cast on olmurani's face as the saber buzzed to life.

"Must have... slipped my mind right?" Snickered Anaru as he used the force to pull a lightsaber, and flipped it on bringing out a blue, glowing blade. "Actually this one isn't half bad. For a training lightsaber." Anaru said as he flipped it in his hands and got in his fighting stance again.

"Think fast" Olmurani said with a grin as he swung his saber to the right, aiming to tap Anaru's shoulder.

Anaru was suprised as he saw turned and saw the blow coming to his shoulder. He stepped aside and turned around 360 degrees to get an uppercut on Olmuranis neck for a score. ((How do you want this to work? Like say... if your hit on the head instant kill, leg is instant kill, but hitting an arm just disables the use of it right? This could be very interesting. By the way (btw) ((= Out of character talking just in case you didn't know. ;)))

(We're just going to do it the traditional way. A tap on the shoulder wins.)

Olmurani followed up his attack (wich missed) with a parry to his left to block Anaru's attack.

With eyes fixed in a glare, Anaru locked lightsabers with Olmurani. They started walking around in a circle. Sometimes Olmurani's lightsaber had the advantage, and sometimes Anaru's lightsaber had the advantage over Olmurani. "Give up! You can't beat me!"

Anaru said as he swung his lightsaber over to aim for his shoulder, while at the same time stepping back a little.

As Anaru took a step back, Olmurani took an offensive step forward to block Anaru's attack. Once again in a saber lock, they stood pushing eachother's blade but because of Olmurani's vastly superior strength, he pushed Anaru away causing him to stumble a bit.
"Do I sense a bit of pride in you?" Olmurani said, once again geting into a stance. This time it was defensive. "Pride comes before the fall." He said.

"Its not pride it's called skill Olmurani! Your trust in your strength will be your downfall make no mistake about it." Said Anaru as he tried to distract Olmurani with a sidekick to the side of the head. Unfortunately for Anaru he misjudged just by a small percentage, and missed; striking his friends ear slightly.

Moreover, Anaru lost his balance and, to prevent himself from falling completely he went into a diveroll. This sent him crashing into a few chairs.

"Perhaps that wasn't the greatest move on my part."
Thought Anaru to himself as he stood back up, feeling a little dazed while trying to compose himself.

Olmurani did'nt see the kick coming but Anaru still missed. Olmurani was, in fact, taller than Anaru.
"Once again," Omurani said with a friendly smile, "pride comes before the fall."

Olmurani's voice was soft and had no note of smugness in it. In fact, one of the sayings he had lived by was the phrase Speak softly, but cary a big stick.

"I'd recognize that style anywhere." Olmurani said curiously.
"That's Teräs Käsi." He said admiringly. "I took Teräs Käsi lessons since I was four years old. I did'nt know you knew any martial arts."

"I know a few of them." Said Anaru as he swung again, throwing a side jab, which sheared off a few parts of his friends robes. I've been learning out of books, and other sources like those. Anaru said as he went for a front kick, catching Olmurani in the side hip heavily.

However, this blow was what did it in for Anaru. Because Olmurani used the few seconds that Anaru had paused in to revel in the expertise that he exercised in the kick to deliver the crucial and fatal tap to the shoulder.

Anaru's face showed no signs of anger, yet inwardly he was seething towards Olmurani. "I didn't lose... I just misjudged. I executed the better movements overall. I deserved to win.." He thought while still standing there.

But after a few moments of silent pouting Anaru mastered his worse side, and walked up to congratulate Olmurani and shake his hand. "Well done man! I hope that front kick didn't hit you too hard. It was only meant to distract you so that as you leaned forward I could tap you on the shoulder. Thank you for the match, it taught me a few things."

Olmurani fliped his saber off. "Thank's" he said as he shook Anaru's hand. "Nah, It did'nt hurt. You kind of get used to getting hit after about eleven years of Teräs Käsi."

Olmurani tossed his deactivated saber over by the rack then took a few steps back and got into a stance. "When you perform almost any kick to the head," he said as he demonstrated to his friend. " you need to keep you'r balance centered as it is a long range attack in terms of martial arts. I can teach you more if you'd like."

"That would be superb. I think it was a close fight, but here's my side kick." Said Anaru as he demonstrated a good side kick to a soft chair which sent it flying.

"But for some reason, when I'm fighting it doesn't go over that way. I think I get too.... proud of my abilities. Like when you beat me, I didn't like admitting that I lost. In fact you've probablly figured this out by now, but I hate to lose!"

Laughed Anaru jovially as he admitted one of his many faults. Then Anaru took on a more serious tone. "It does take me a few seconds to realize that winning isn't everything. You are a better fighter than I am, plus your taller and stronger. But on a side note how's my agility? I've been working on combination moves, and fighting on the balls of my feet for more available movement."

Said Anaru as he demonstrated a decent frontkick in the air, while trying to keep his balance. "I learned my martial arts from a master. I've never told you before, but my parents are really rich. So they have all these private instructors for me like karate, and mathematics. Yet they say they "love me more than anything" but their tone is so apathetic, and monotone that I know it's false.

They rarely spent time with me when I was little, leaving me under the control of the house robot maid. She kinda took care of me, which is one reason why I know a few robot languages, and love mechanics. I just wish they had actually cared for me." Anaru said softly to Olmurani.

Olmurani thought for a moment about his own parents. "Actually, I think it's great that both your parents at least say they love you. In my experience, there's always some truth in everything." Olmurani paused for a moment. "The only one who ever told me they loved my was my mother."

"But anyway," Olmurani started on a happier note. "I learned Teräs Käsi from a master too. He was the best fighter I'v ever seen. Exept for some of the masters here."

"And to answer your questions, you're agility is exelent. The problem you have" He began "is distance. In Teräs Käsi, there are three ranges, short range, which is any strike with you're elbow, medium range, which is a punch, and long range, which is a kick. You need to have good distance judgment. That's why you missed the kick to my face. you were just a little too far away." Olmurani said as Anaru noded.
"So you're working on combination moves?" he asked. "That's cool. I'm working on the spitting rawl move in Teräs Käsi. It's where the fighter does a side flip, kicking the opponent three times and then bashing them with both hands in a vertical movement. Let me tell ya," Olmurani said smiling, "Not easy. I'm still working on it and it's hard to learn without a master."
Olmurani and Anaru began to walk back to their rooms.
"Do you know of any books or holobooks that could help me?" he said as they walked side by side.

"Sorry bout your family man. But I love how the temple has become like our family yah know what I mean? Spitting rawl move huh? Sounds pretty difficult to me, I mastered a couple moves like that--spinning crescent kick and spinning hook kick. They both took me awhile.

Books... books... hehe as if I'm not enough of a bookworm already! Well I would definitely reccomend Teräs Käsi for begginers. It's by Moreven Snalz. I'm not a big holobook user, because all your data can be seen by others. I would never want that..yikes!"

As Anaru walked out of the room, he pulled out his galatic watch. "Oh shoot we're going to be late man! Time to head to class." Said Anaru as he realized that they only had 5 minutes to spare to get to International Galatic Studies class.

"Oh also check out various styles of martial arts, by Omuran Alvas!!" Anaru shouted as he picked up his robes, bags, and books, and began to run to class, trying to be on time.

Olmurani waved to his friend.
"See you tomorrow!" He shouted as he ran down the corridors to his next class.
