A gunslingers wish

a large pile of rubble...

----------------------------------------

Entering the atmosphere of tatooine brought back some memories from Ord Mantell, both dusty and hot, yet Tatooine seemed to be a lot hotter than Ord Mantell... The suns were limiting his view, while he made his landing on Mos Eisley. Overlooking the city Marr said to him self:

"Now that's what i call a large pile of rubble." But his need to refill his fuel and supplies forced Marr to land on Tatooine. As he was slowly descending down to the city, he made contact with flight control:

"Flight Control Mos Eisley, this is Barell 1-1, requesting a landingbay to refuel."

Flight control answered: "Barell 1-1, you may land in landingbay 4."

As he got closer and closer to the landingbay he was able to have a look onto the streets of Mos Eisley which were (suprising for him) very busy. The streets were filled with markets and all kinds of species which were known throughout the galaxy. Also some speeders were driving through Mos Eisley, leaving a dustcloud behind them...

Marr descended slowly into the landingbay and by the time he got to the ground, the suns were shining over the edges of this bay. He was ready to leave the cockpit when he noticed a human male in brown brown clothing and dark hair standing in the hallway leading to the streets... With nothing bad in the mind, Marr left the cockpit, took his backpack and left the ship via the ramp.

As Marr stepped onto the sandy landingbay, the man came forward and said with a grin:

"Welcome my friend to Tatooine, I bet you had a nice landing... See I don't want to cause any trouble but the Hutt Cartell owns this here... So here is the deal... you give me a 100 Credits or some Jawas might take your Ship apart... So what do you say?"

Marr didn't even think about speaking against him, since he wanted a functioning ship, and also was just here for a short stop anyways... so he gave the man the 100 credits, who took off with a nod onto the busy streets of Mos Eisley...

Marr checked his ship again, took the most valuable tools with him, and carefully closed the ship so that nobody could enter it...
As he walked up the hallway, he was able to hear the soundscape of the busy streets and also the species who were talking...
Kind of thirsty and hungry he was looking for a saloon or a diner he could quickly eat and drink, before buying the supplies...

He wandered through the streets... the suns burning down on him, making him sweat... but finally he was able to find the "Belching Frog Saloon" and entered it quickly in order to escape the burning suns...

The moment that Marr walked into the Saloon he was met with a wave of scented air that was colder to the touch than the outside heat from the Twin Suns. Different kinds of scented cigarra's were being smoked inside and a few humidifyers were placed around to cool the air down. This was the Belching Frog Saloon, the headquarters of the Zaa Fenn Crime Family and the home of erstwhile rule of the Crymorah Syndicate; Preef Callo. Several tables were filled with mean-looking gunslingers playing Sabacc and drinking expensive whiskies imported from Corellia.

Taking a closer look at the gunslingers showed that most of them were either in their late-thirties or their early-forties, which were all advanced ages for men and women in their line of work. Something like that only meant one thing: Only the best were accepted join the legendary quick-draw's gang.

Only one table had a free chair and an aging rodian seemed to be looking into his glass with a certain tired boredom. At his hip a peacemaker was clearly visible. He had every look that he was able to use it still, despite his age nearing seventy.

Big Iron

----------------------------------------

Marr, almost steamed after entering the room. Looking around the saloon, he wasn't quite sure if he was in the right place. These lads meant business... at least when judging their look... Marr was looking around and saw a table where one seat was free. There was sitting a Rodian, who looked quite senior, compared to the other gents in the room...

Marr enjoyed the temperature and thought to himself, that maybe to stay here for 1 Rotation wouldn't hurt... So he went to the bar and ordered himself a "Black fizzer". The bartender just nodding and handing him the finished drink over, went shortly into the backroom.

Marr still seeing that the one chair is still free, went to the table to the elderly Rodian and said: "Hello there, is this seat taken?" and grinned into the Rodians face...

The rodian looked up from his drink and into the eyes of a grinning human. "Go ahead," he said as he kicked the chair back a bit so the newcomer could sit. "What brings you to the Belching Frog?"

The drink in front of the rodian reeked of shallow waters and was a clear save for a greenish tint. Perhaps Marr had seen it on display at the bar while he had waited for his drink; this was Nal Hutta's sewer-riped moonshine. It was the known favorite of the legendary gunslinger Preef Callo. Forty years ago he had used his blaster to shoot up the ruling crime family of the Crymorah Syndicate, the Xaa Hafven, to install the Zaa Fenn at the top. Then he had used it to commit Hutticide thrice over on public broadcasts to show that the Crymorah reigned supreme among the Five Syndicates and indeed, cartel space.

After a public assassination attempt by the Sith Empress, Darth Andruil, Preef was rumored to have died and for twenty years he might as well have been. The Zaa Fenn Crime Family, without his protection, had fallen from their pedestal and lost open war against the other syndicates and even the Independent Systems Consortium, who took cartel worlds and legalized spice mines. Then Preef suddenly returned, not at the head of his syndicate, but as an enforcer of the Supreme Mogul. The very same whose predecessor the rodian had murdered. The cartel then moved in to protect what was left of the Crymorah Syndicate from those that were still trying to dismantle it. It had every appearance of having been a tit-for-tat: Preef's quick-draw skill in return for the safety of his family.

The rodian took a sip of his drink and smiled; "Do you know who I am?"

The unknown stranger...

----------------------------------------

Unknown to this world and what legend he was standing in front at, he accepted the offer to sit down and answered the Rodian's question:

"Well, I was just here to restock and refuel, but the heat forced me got snatch a drink here... I am a weaponsmith, I make blasters for a living... Is maybe not the most exciting and adventurous craft, yet fun... I hope to find some work on the next planet, since I could use some credits... The supplies are on some planets pretty expensive..."

As the rodian took a sip from his drink, Marr followed suit and stopped when the Rodian asked if Marr knew who he was...
That was the moment he feared could get shot and sat at the wrong table...

He shook his head, while trying not to make a all to sudden move...

----------------------------------------
Oh no...
