Coruscant. The shining capital of the Republic. On the surface, one can almost feel the harmony of urban life and machine working towards a common purpose of existance. In a bizzare way, he found this comforting. Growing up a street urchin across dozens of planets, urban sprawl was nothing new to him, but for the last six years of his life, he felt different towards the white noise.

Taoré felt his fingertips caress his lightsaber gently. He knew that compared to the people at the Temple he would get schooled, but this was nothing new to him. All his life he struggled with feeling beneath people, always feeling the need to claw his way to be on par with them. But upon taking in with his eyes the sight of wonder that was the great Jedi Temple, followed swiftly by the Force presence hitting him like a tidal wave, he began to see he really was a small fish in a really big pond.

He heard laughter, the sound of the wind rushing into his ears, as well as the crackling of fusion cutters and torches as the repairs to the temple became observant. He began to wonder what had caused it, but silenced the thoughts as he took his first steps towards the Temple. Sure he wasn`t exactly clad in Jedi attire, given how the dirt encrusted robes were draped over a black flight suit, with no sleeves, his hands heavily taped with knuckled gloves, as well as a durasteel chestplate. He began to feel a sense of unwelcomeness creep in with each step he took. And he was damn sure that the younglings and padawans outside were looking right at them. He quickly readjusted the hood of his travelling cloak, to avert their gaze.

-A rickety-looking ship lands on a far platform, almost missing the platform. It's pilot must not have flown a ship long. The ship barely is holding itself together, made from a hodge-podge of scrap parts and what appear to be vines holding the darned thing together.

The apparent pilot steps out, and he is quite a sight to behold. It appears to be a tribally-dressed cathar, minus one blatant detail: he's over 8' tall. On his back, you can see a barbaric cleaver-type sword adorned with beads, feathers, and a large cainine tooth from a rather large animal. On his hip is a lightsaber, also rather barbaric-looking, wrapped in tanned hide with the switch exposed. The pilot glares at the attendant, who seems to waive the fee for landing such a piece of junk on the landing pad. It seems the pilot wishes to join the Jedi-

He quickly snaps around to see the ship landing. If he ever thought his attire as shabby, he's clearly never seen this guy before. As if his unusual size was enough, his ragtag outfit was adorned by blades and had an all around look of meanness to himself.

Well, if I ever thought I would never be looked at, I was wrong. Taoré thought to himself, his eyebrow raised slightly, before turning around and taking further steps to the Temple.

In spite of that, he had a gut feeling he was about to be approached. With that in mind, he gingerly fingered the activation switch of his lightsaber, underneath his cloak. If he learned anything in the streets, it was that guys about 3 times your size looking like they just escaped a nest of hungry Rancor, was not something to take lightly.

-the rather imposing figure looks directly at you, his eyes seem clam and collected, even in the face of danger of somebody adept in the Force. He doesn't even flinch as you approach, and barely views you as a legitemate threat-

Are you here to join the Jedi?

-The figure's voice is coarse and gruff, borderline feral. You can overhear the attendant saying the ship the figure landed in won't survive another flight into space, let alone to any of the Jedi Enclaves. The figure reaches for his own lightsaber, as if ready to defend himself, should you not be an ally-

((OOC)) (I turned around and walked away, not towards you)

Should've guessed, he thought, stopping for a second, to hear the giant's voice. Then continued onwards to the doors. He still had a bad feeling, but it ebbed.

He was stopped at the door by a couple of guards. He expected this, I mean let's face it: With a starship landing, a giant cat popping out of it, and a ragtag wanderer now three feet in front of them, he expected the guards to be up.

"My apologies for my meager appearence, but I am here at the behest of my father." He spoke with a voice quite different from his normal one, being much more clear and regal in tone, with a slight Coruscanti accent in it. He then proceeded to hand the guard the Journal with which he had kept on his person for the past six years, containing all the knowledge of the Jedi passed down from his father to him, in an attempt to clarify the situation.

(OOC: My Bad)

-The figure follows, sensing that this probably is the temple, judging as how the human entered. He is stopped as well by the guards, but instead of speaking, he holds up his lightsaber. The guards allow him inside, as he soon spots you a few yards away-

Hey! I was talking to you. I just need to ask a few questions!

It came as no surprise to Taoré that the cat would be stopped. He doubted even a lightsaber, which the guards had been eyeing his own the entire time, would stop them from being cautious. After more deliberation, the guards closed the journal and handed it back to him.

"We owe our sincere apologies towards your father." said the guard who read the journal "But as you can see, the Temple has suffered a serious attack at the hands of Dark Jedi recently, and it is always best to ere on the side of caution when it comes to people dressed as you are armed with lightsabers." He added.

"Not to worry, not to worry." Taoré replied "It would not be the first time I was mistaken for something, but I do wish to know if it is possible to see a Jedi Master concerning the situation."

The guard bowed and left to find a Jedi Master, before Taoré turned to face the giant.

"Ya know there are better ways to deal with people than whipping out your lightsaber at every which way." he said, pocketing the journal in his belt.

I must appologize, but I am not from this planet, as one can easily tell. I'm from Kashyyyk and I have no other way, other than the fact a Jedi told me that he would train me. However, when his ship crashed on Kashyyyk, he didn't make it. If we had not crashed however, I would not be who I am. I simply wish to learn the Jedi way.

Taoré snorted. "You and me both." he replied. Granted he knew about as much as he could from the journal, but even then his training was sorely lacking. And this Wookie-looking character starts asking him about the Jedi way?

awkward... he thought, but nevertheless lowered his hood, revealing him to indeed be human (?) with pale skin, brilliant green eyes, and long black hair. He had the ideal face most humans can only wish to have, which given his past, was shocking.

What katarn crawled up his backside? -The figure thought to himself.- For a human, he's quite thuggish...

-He follows the human, thinking that if the human is to see one of the Masters, then maybe D'Jareth's quest to become a Jedi would be at an end.-

I am D'Jareth, son of A'Jani of the Schenor. Our people are unfamiliar with joining the prestigious Jedi Knights.

He extended his hand. "Taoré Timarick." he replied. He didn't need Jedi senses to feel the negativity radiate off this guy. It was clear he had seen a lot of battle in his time, and perhaps had not met people like he, who never exactly made first impressions.

After they shook hands, he quickly walked over and found a place to sit down. He had been walking for hours and felt his body ache a little. It didn't help he had to break up a bar fight about 3 standard hours before either. He sat down finally, and pulled out a ration bar, breaking off a piece and stuffing it in his mouth.

After he swallowed, he spoke again. "My father was a Jedi Knight. When I was 14, I was left a journal containing the knowledge of the Jedi, which after six years of studying, I came here to further my training. He was killed by a Dark Jedi before I was born." he said taking another bite.

-the figure sits beside you, reaching into his own pack, pulling out a hunk of preserved meat, shaving a chunk off and offering a piece to you-

It's katarn meat. Very good for long travels. You are the first human I have ever met in my life. It has been an honor to meet one of your kind.

((OOC)) (There's a bit more message above I pencilled in for backstory)

he took the meat cautiously. He was never one to trust people, growing up in the streets.

"Thank you." he said, and took a small bite. He felt the meat trickle down his throat which was good, but he knew it'dve tasted better with some Juma. He took a swig of some Electrolyte drink, before turning to his compatriot.

"Given we're here in the core, that's actually kinda surprising." He said with a brief grin before resuming his stoic look.

(OOC: Gotcha)

I'm used to being stared at, since I was trained by the wookiees in their unique fighting style, hoping that if I met another jedi, I could show him that I could handle this. -He holds up his lightsaber. Having it be this close, you can see that it actually was constructed from two separate lightsabers, and bound in the leather of what appears to be of a Tach, with the missing parts being from a ship of unknown origin-

"This old thing-"*he pointed at the weapon on his belt, before taking another swig of his energy drink* "-was once my father's. He used it to save my mother's life... Until he died... I was able to repair it and modify it as per the journal's instructions." He replied, taking the time to stretch out to the Force and sense the people around him.

After a moment or two, he felt the walls retract inside himself, clearly exausting him. Good thing he was at a temple to learn how to control this feeling. "Clearly, you're one of battle: But from what I've observed, a Jedi is defined not how he fights, but his lack of need to fight. If he can resolve a conflict without ever using his weapon, I will assume he's done a good job... Not that it means much in these dark times." He said with enthusiasm that was muddled in clear bitterness. He had a funny feeling someone heard that other than his companion, and that feeling alone didn't feel very good.
