Mandalore.

Mandalore system.

Mandalore...A place cremek had long avoided, home. He had afforded himself very few opportunities to allow himself to return here, the bittersweet memories of this planet, such as his father saying goodbye for what neither knew would be the last time.

Today was something different, and cremeks outfit showed this, he was no longer wearing his simple sith robes with a breastplate, this bitter day required him to wear his clans armor.. it felt natural wearing it, like it was made for him, probably because it was..

his father was dead. direct members of his clan were asked to come and attend his funeral, cremek had always been close to his father, even across the stars, he had held a special place for the man in his heart, the man who taught him to be strong, who sired him and set him on his path, age had claimed him, as did it claim all, eventually, but it did not make it easier for the mando sith with two minds to say goodbye.

"goodbye..."

cremek had always despised that word.. perhaps it brought back the painful memories of him saying goodbye to his family, before he was taken to the order..

his ship touches down, he had some ways to go before he made it to the funeral site, a couple miles, he began his journey on foot. It was only a couple miles out, he hoped he would arrive without incident, mourn his father, and leave as fast as he could, it's not like he was truly an dar'manda, but he felt like one, and outsider, having been removed from his people for so long.

Even marian could feel the bittersweet feelings cremek was enduring, and opted to keep her mouth shut, for once, last thing she wanted to do was watch cremek break down from the loss of one of the few people he actually cared for.

Rhonwen had been informed on the event in her future. She was to travel to Mandalore and visit a funeral for members of the Candorus aliit. A significant member had been recently lost and it was likely the clan might even hold office for a new chief. While Rhonwen knew she could likely best a few of the Mandalorians she had come across, she did not want to take the mantle of leadership just yet. Instead this was a day to make connections, be seen and reconnoiter.

The Chiss was clad in her bright pink beskar'gam which worked surprisingly well in desert invironments. Parts of the planet were swathed in dunes but most of the world had been reduced to a greenish glassy surface. Only the bare foundations and ruins of the ancient cities like Sundari remained.

If anyone asked, she was Galaar Saxon. These days Coverts and tribes were easily estranged so most would not bat an eye at an new addition to their ranks. The custom blastboat, Munit'kad, would cycle down its engines after coming in for a landing. She spoke to the ship's A.I. "MernKrill, Keep it locked down while I'm gone. If anyone tries to break in or take control..." She paused to let the ship answer in a feminine voice. "initiate erasure and sanitation protocols, Ma'am." That meant self destructing before any information was taken from the ship or its contents. Only Rhonwen knew the password which was required even if she took off her helmet. Otherwise anyone could walk up in her armor or with a disguise. "Good. Let me know if anything pops up on scanners. I'll probably stay within comms range." She added with a nod before exiting the ship. MernKrill, or MK, was uploaded with Mando'a language recognition among others in case she needed to speak in code to the droid integrated to her ship.

Galaar Saxon, as others might recognize her, came equiped with a flame projector, though it would remain securely stowed beside her jetpack. Mirroring the flame projecetor on her back was a collapsed electroripper. The Saxon's twin Westar blaster pistols holstered on either hip were the perhaps the other notable armament if not for the imposing figure the woman cut, standing at roughly six feet tall but with notable musculature even in her armor which only served to bulk her up further.

As she left her ship behind, the disguised agent activated her armor's recording capability. This was the first time she had come to Mandalore. If there was anything worth capturing and reporting on or studying, she wanted to get it at the earliest opportunity.

cremek would tighten his bracer, the darkened cortosis plate additions gleamed in the hot desert sun, before he clips his saber onto his back, the large spear like hilt being fashioned to appear as a simple quarterstaff. He puts on his helmet, the clan Candorus signature markings on his helmet, along with his colorations made him look quite imposing, even without his robes on, He begins his long walk to the location of his father's funeral pye, moving not too fast, moving not too slow, with purpose, calmly.

"you know, it feels odd you would even care enough to be here, cremek.."

"Its my father, I would go to the unknown regions if that's what they had planned.."

He pressed on, leaving his foot marks in the sand.

"it's a shame your mother can't come.."

"her duties at fortress vader keep her busey.."

As the closer members of the clan approached the funeral pyre, the Saxon would remain slightly to the back of the gathered crowd. Descretely she produced a small electronic device. As a precaution, she activated the signal tracer to see if there were any remote surveillance connections. But she doubted such a link was established. If the tool detected someone, other than her's, she would know about it.

While the device did its work, she would keep her helmet occasionally scanning the room. Her recorder would get a clear view of all the attendees and their accompanied equipment. Sigils and markings could be studied later and cross referenced with her existing records if need be.

the funeral was for direct clan members, family, trusted friends, the appearance of someone not one of the number was regarded with suspicion, but they let her linger regardless, the small tribe not really caring.

Cremek finnaly arrived, joining the rest of his extended family, his clan was well aware of he and his mothers connections to the sith order, but at this moment they did not care about his sorceror ways, and let him in, after all, they were the ones who sent him the armor, the tribe armorer was preparing a bonfire for cremeks father.

Without being addressed, the brightly painted armored "Mandalorian" remained in the presence of the Candorus clan. The clan as a whole were regarded with mixed feelings by the rest of the Mandalorian community, at least that was what Rhonwen assumed if any other Mandalorians new about their dealings with the Sith.

She continued to watch silently, motionless. Standing tall, she even stood over some of the others she guessed with male. Some women wore nite owl armor or had some curvature to their beskar'gam. But their species and other specific details about their identity would still be hidden, including her own.

Cremek approached the unlit bonfire, the armorer hands him the torch, no words were spoken for they were unnecessary, the clan and it's twin, the tepmuarts, never cared for boasting, or for speeches, they were people of action, speeches meant nothing to them, they would never be wooed by words again, then again, the greif went beyond words, the outsider was not included, and it showed, as no one bothered to even interact with her, or welcome her, or even look at her, it could be felt in the air, there was innate hostility, few of them felt offended she would crash a funeral, others simply didn't care, but all of them felt it was disrespectful to linger, either she should state her reasoning, or be gone, and the arnorers head turning to her reflected that.

Rhonwen had come across force sensitives before and knew of them thanks to the files the Imperial Security Bureau kept. She knew they could not read minds the same way many people thought. There were limits to their abilities and many superstitious beings were easily fooled by the hearsay and romanticizing of those capable of using the Force.

For the Chiss in disguise this information brought comfort. The knowledge the woman had gained over the years helped her feel secure in her own abilities as well as be aware of her own limitations.

There were some people that took information they did not or should not have and make poor decisions with it. This was why some groups get piece-meal information, while others have full access. But that shows which individuals can be trusted and which ones are slaves to their own impulses.

There was no way for the Mandalorians to know who she was truely and nobody had even so much as asked who she was. There was no questioning her association so the Saxon assumed they were all fine with her being there. She could lie if they did, and they would have no way of telling if she was anything but honest. Nobody had yet to make a move to challenge her either but she doubted someone would have the poor taste to do that during a funeral.

Rhonwen stood by, quietly observing the ceremony until someone spoke to her directly. The Chiss agent had as much right to be there as anyone unless they somehow could communicate with a god beyond this dimension. She had done plenty of research on the ancient Mandalorian gods and their people and a god of petty self-indulgence was not among their number.

There were three gods but probably more forgotten. The Mandalorians present were clearly fine with supporting the Sith. Rhonwen was more worried about what all the other tribes would do to the Canderous and the Tepmuarts. While Darth Leviticus had once been Mand’alor and also Darth Maul and his Shadow Collective, Rhonwen doubted there would be much support for a dark side tribe or their members when it came to the greater Mandalorian community.

It was no wonder they did not like outsiders. These Mandalorian were probably considered dar’manda, or one step away from it for being associated with the Sith. A civil war among them was just dying down from her intelligence reports. But many had lost faith in Nox Solus and his continued alliance with the Sith Empire before his disappearance, much like Fenyang.

Rhonwen had no personal opinion of the matter. She was here simply to reconnoiter. The practices and customs, the individuals and placements, these were small but important details that could bring light to secrets previously in shadow.

The woman continued to stand cross armed, doing her best impression of ‘looking sad’ while having a helmet over her face. The rest of the bucket heads seemed very serious but that was to be expected. If one of them wanted her to leave, all they had to do was tell her why or try and make her. Otherwise, she was here to watch a funeral so they may as well get on with it.

With a bow, cremek would rest the torch on the pile of wood, setting the lower part ablaze, before turning to the woman, it was pretty easy to tell, tepmuarts wore gold and reds, while candorus members wore black and white, she stuck out like a sore thumb, a distant cousin perhaps?.. he dismissed it, it was a simple farewell, for all he knew, she could just be an admirer.. the rest of the twins most likely thought the same. Cremek stepped back from the flames of his father's pyre, standing rather close, as close as he dared to without setting himself alight, how he wished he could join him, but life was cruel, and he didn't deserve such an honor, to be mourned by the tribe, he was dragging them down just by being here.. he shuffled, uncomfortable.

The stoic visage was contrasted by her brightly colored armor. There were some Mandalorians that wore a paint scheme for practical camouflage, like Rhonwen did as she donned the disguise of Galaar Saxon. But there were others that painted their armor to have meaning. Black was justice, gold for vengeance and so on. Most Mandalorians knew the rest but there were some members of the community that wore the colors of their factions, often their Clans or Houses as it seemed the case with the Tepmuarts and the Candorus.

One reason the two clans attending this funeral were uneasy might be due to the fact that there was an open government bounty on Sith Champions. While Rhonwen was a member of the Imperials Security Bureau that issued the bounty be posted, the Chiss did not want to cash in on a prize. It was too much work for too little reward and would be far more detrimental than simply continuing to watch the various Mandalorians before her. Given time, they would reveal the truth to her hidden crimson gaze.

Cremek then turns back to the open pyre, sighing, before walking off himself, he had little left to stay for, but some of the children, well the only ones here, managed to drag the poor lad off before he could leave, badgering him with questions, innocent ones, to be sure, bot bothersome ones, and he was gently replying to each one, a little shaken that he just burned his fathers corpse.

The funeral continued and completed whilst Galaar Saxon watched. When the deceased was fully burned and nothing but ashes, the Chiss would give last look over the assembled Mandalorians. Seeing no further need to interact with the members of either clan, she turned and left the gathering.

Her pink armored form would move across the sand and through the dusty streets towards the depths of Sundari or what remained of it. There were other Mandalorians beyond clan Candorus and Tepmuarts that came into view of the disguised Imperial agent. Some of them regarded her momentarily but would not stop her as she moved deeper into the ruins.

There were other Mandalorians she could observe with her recordings before needing to head back. The Lieutenant would come to a stop in front of a stand being used to sell weapons. There was a partially robed Mandalorian in with blue markings attending to the stall. Half a dozen other Mandalorians were in sight and Rhonwen knew that by their markings they likely were associated with the merchant. Galaar and Westar blaster models were on display, but so was a few mag-79 grenade launchers.

<"Are these for sale?"> She asked in mando'a, speaking her first words since arriving on the planet to someone other than her ship's integrated A.I. <"They might be."> The merchant responded in kind and cocked his head to the side. <"Do you have credits, sister?"> She was not a part of their tribe and would probably get the marked up price. <"Yeah."> She replied as matter-of-fact. <"These look used though. You sure they work well?"> This was where the haggling began.
