OOC: @Nefieslab will be DMing the opposition. @Jago Haaldin and Drow will be fighting the Gammorreans. @Drastus Drahr is welcome to be cheerleader lol.

Gamorr was hardly a good world to visit in the best of times. The dangerous fauna on the planet kept one on their toes and the constant warfare between the various clans of Gamorreans meant that any visitor to the planet had better be content to die or know what they're doing when it came to fighting. Fortunately, the Jedi Knight, Drow Venn, was both.

He confidently walked into the Grojuk clan's village that lay at the top of Bloodpeak Mountain. The Grojuk were an unconventional clan as they held a strong sense of justice and honor. This made them unpopular with some of the more barbaric clans on the world and, after years of battles, they'd been pushed to the mountains. Drow, always one to keep his ear to the underground for information had overheard a pair of Gammorrean mercenaries in a cantina speak of an honorable clan that resided in the mountains. So he'd come here together with Jago Haaldin to accomplish his mission.

That mission was to help form a security force for the Jedi Temple on Yavin. He didn't want another Ajan Kloss to happen and this Gammorrean clan would be the perfect core to build a force off of, provided the Gammorreans were willing to relocate and work for the Jedi. And, in his days spent on Gamorr, the pig-like aliens seemed to be receptive to the idea. The Jedi had seemingly impressed them with their moral code and Yavin IV was similar enough in climate and geographical features to Gamorr with the added benefit that it wasn't crawling with other Gammorrean clans trying to kill the Grojuk. But today, the final test began. The Grojuk clan would only go with the Jedi if they could prove themselves the superior warriors by passing a test of combat. Drow sat in a ceremonial circle that the Gammorreans had drawn out and waited to see what this contest would entail.

"I've gotten my ass kicked by a Gammorrean once before." he said to Jago. "Wasn't too pleasant as I recall."

Finally a mission with his Jedi buddies that would properly put his skill set to use. Though Jago was also saddened at the need for this particular mission. He hadn't been at Ajan Kloss when the Sith fell upon the Jedi there. Regrettably he'd been off world trying to give aid to his Jedi allies in other ways. Now Jago almost laughed at the idea that he had wanted to try talking to the Sith. His own teaching led him to believe that the Dark, while not to be followed had it's own place in the galaxy. They had gone too far though, the Dark had spread too far and too quickly. He understood now the chaos they sought to unleash, and he glad to be here to help in further protecting the people he'd come to call friends.

While Drow sat Jago stood next to the Jedi and stretched. He was preparing in his own way to see what the Gammorrean clan had in store for them. He smiled at Drow's remark and looked over to the Jedi. "Well they always say it's best to learn from your failures. I've fought a few Gammorreans myself and the only lesson I took away from it was...well you probably just shouldn't fight Gammorreans yeah?" Jago chuckled as he stretched his arm across his chest till he felt the limb was loose enough. He wasn't exaggerating either. The few times he'd fought the big fellas it ended in draws. Mostly because Gammorreans had a tendency to go into a berserker like frenzy any time they faced an opponent who put up some kind of challenge. Though from what he'd been briefed on, this clan may prove different. Jago didn't like broad statements much but a Gammorrean clan that believed in honor and justice was a pretty rare thing in his experience.

He dipped down and stretched out his legs in a lateral squats, "I'm interested to see how these guys fight though. It'd be great if their technique is more involved than 'smash smaller thing until it stops moving' yeah?"

The Grojuk clan were not accustomed to outsiders but they were not so rare as to be unheard of. What would be unheard of was for the outsiders to have come for something other than their services. Even the youngest whelp of the clan knew that outsiders came to Gamorr for warriors of strength and intimidating stature.

It was the way of the Galaxy and no new moons or sunsets had changed it and none ever would.

When Jedi had come to their camp, had come to their home, there was confusion at first. Outsiders only ever came for them to commit violence on their behalf but even on Gamorr, tales of the Jedi had arrived. Some said they was brutes of violence and others said that they were people of peace.

Either would mean they were unsuited to being the masters of the Grojuk Clan. The clan elder, Grojuk Gamorgon, had made his decision that the Jedi and their allies would face combat. Indeed, they were already in the circle, the entire clan watching closely and Grojuk Gamorgon stepped up to the edge of the circle. A truly massive Gamorrean in height, muscle and fat, he was everything that those below his aspired to be.

"Muh..."

There was a pause before Grojuk Gamorgon grumbled and dragged a protocol droid forward. It... had no legs so that it could not escape though was otherwise perfectly functional. Grojuk Gamorgon grunted out his words in Gamorrese and the protocol droid translated quickly.

"Outlanders, you have come to the Clan Grojuk claiming that your cause is just and right. Here, surrounded by the entire clan in all their majesty, state your case once more. Let all of Clan Grojuk hear what you would have them do!"

Grojuk Gamorgon was a strong chief, a good chief, and a chief who was strong and good knew that it was always better to let the whole Clan to know why they would be fighting.

Drow did his best not to look nervous at this absolute behemoth that stepped into the circle. After all, this was what he had come here for. If he was intimidated by this Gammorrean, he could only imagine how the Sith would react when the Gamorgon came for them. Drow took off his shirt and set his saber aside. Though he could easily have used the Force in this fight, the Gammorreans respected strength and the Grojuk clan respected fairness so Drow would abide by their values.

"Mighty Gamorgon of the honorable Clan Grojuk! My name is Drow Venn! I was once a mercenary where I fought in many battles. I threw that life aside to join the Jedi Order. They are a noble force of powerful warriors that use their strength honorably to defend the galaxy from the dreaded Sith! I come here today to ask you to join our noble cause and defend our great Temple! We Jedi are prepared to show our strength to do so!" Drow bellowed in the over-the-top way Gammorreans tended to when provoking a fight. If nothing else, Drow's time as a soldier had taught him a lot about the warrior cultures of the galaxy. With that, Drow looked to Jago one last time before putting his fists up in a boxer's stance.

Drastus would make his way up behind his team. He wasn't really sure why he was here, but Master Sati had told him to bridge any divide within the Order. And despite Venn being a real cool guy, he just couldn't vibe with him. So he was hoping that here, on Gamorr, that would change. Still dressed in his usual clothes, with the vibrosword, he was there mainly in a support role, but he just knew that meant he was somehow going to get dragged into the ordeal.

Now Jago, on the other hand, was awesome. He had like a million head tails and was just calm, cool, and collected. Which in hindsight, is almost exactly what Venn was, but oh well. Standing at the back of the pair like some sort of cheerleading god, he'd gather up the cloak and the saber. "There we go, Venn. Say it with ya chest." Drast would say just low enough for his two companions to hear. "I know I'm kinda just the support, but if you guys need me to hop in, the safe word is Pajama Clan. Heard some nutjob on the news use it. It was worth a good chuckle."

As the clan Chieftain approached Jago stopped his stretching and listened intently to what the being had to say. He nodded as the rather large being asked for their purpose. He smiled as Drow gave his answer and once the Jedi had finished Jago would follow up. "I am here to aid my Jedi friend in this effortarn your trust. I am not a Jedi sir, but I can confirm that they are warriors of honor and courage sir. I would not be here if they were not. We are ready to face the judgement of you and your clan whenever you are ready."

He finished his statement with the traditional Matukai salute and a slight bow of respect to Gamorgon. He smiled and glanced back at Drastus, "Well they are the most comfortable clothes, but I'll remember to tag you in if I get smashed yeah?" With that he'd turn back to the task at hand, not sure yet if Gamorgon himself was to be there opponent in this honor duel or not. He assumed the Chieftain would have champions of his own for the challenge, but given the size of being Gamorgon would be more than a challenge himself.

Gamorgon listened to the Jedi and his ally speak and grunted once. No one who wasn't a Gammorrean would be able to tell if it was a pleased or an indifferent grunt. People outside of their race tended to think in rather narrow ways when it came to the sound of grunts - much to the amusement of many Gammorreans.

But the Jedi were not attempting to sway him, they were here to sway the crowd, the Clan. There were grunts of agreement but there were some who stood against it and it was they who would stand against the Jedi and their ally.

Two champions stepped forward, one an almost wiry Gammorrean with a pair of very shiny gauntlets and wraist armor - the other a beast of a Gammorrean with a large wooden shield strapped to his left hand. The wiry one stepped forward first and the droid translated.

"I am Hort'in of Clan Grojuk and I say I doubt the validity of your claims. The holonet speaks of deception done by the Jedi. Prove your honor and fight me!"
he challenged, stepping into the ring properly, "The two of you shall fight me - a champion of Grojuk - and prove your idea has merit beyond the wind your words make!"

It was clear and set; the two fighters would fight Hort'in of the Clan Grojuk and his shiny bracers. As was already expected to be known, blunt weapons and armor were permitted but use of the Force, armor functions, blades or blasters was not.

"Honorable Hort'in, I respect your doubts and am prepared to show you they are unfounded!" Drow shouted, waiting a moment to allow for the protocol droid to translate. If they won this and Clan Grojuk did end up joining the Jedi Order, Drow would have to speak with the Gamorgon about getting some legs for the poor thing. It would just frighten the younglings otherwise.

Once the protocol droid had finished speaking, Drow walked slowly but confidently forward, hands kept in the boxer's position. During his time as a mercenary, he had developed into quite the hand-to-hand combatant. So while Hort'in was an intimidating opponent, Drow wasn't scared. He might not be allowed to use the Force in this match but in terms of combat, he could always fall back on his instincts.

"Remember we still have his buddy to fight after so don't get too winded. You get his back and I'll take him head on." Drow said to Jago in a soft tone that only the Nautolan could here. He knew of the prowess of the Matukai and he trusted Jago to be a capable ally in this.

As Drow stepped towards Hort'in, he feinted two quick jabs with his left fist before swinging a powerful right hook aimed at the Gamorrean's face with his right fist.

Drast grinned to the crowd of pigs, boy did this mark a very odd adventure. He'd begin to clap after Drow spoke "Yeah, hit em with the Order's Elbow, Venn! Jago, you do whatever voodoo you do!" He would remove his shades for this, it was serious. Tucking them into the inside chest pocket of his vest he eyed the sea of pigs. "Oh buddy, after this, I'm going to challenge their Clan to a dance battle." he mused to himself.

That's when he saw them. His opponents. A trio of pigs were cheering for Horty. He couldn't have that, not in his metaphorical house. Oh no, Oinkella and the Oinkettes had danced their last.

Hort'in was not really interested in honor when the fighting had yet to actually begin. Until the Jedi and his allies won the match? Their honor was in question - it's existence doubted until it was proven otherwise through glorious combat. The Clan Grojuk believed that Right made Might, so those in the right would have the greatest might.

Spotting that the Jedi had chosen to begin the bout, Hort'in rushed forward in his eagerness to begin the fight. Though he did not fall for the feints from the left hand, he did commit his left hand to defense and when the right came rushing at his face he was only able to respond with his right arm.

Thankfully for Hort'in, he would be able to get his arm up in time to block the hit from the right fist - which he did with his right bracer. Drow would feel as though he had hit a duracrete wall from how own strength as he hit what was revealed to be one of two Beskar bracers.

Clan Grojuk had worked with some virtuous Mandalorians in the past and Hort'in himself had managed to earn the right to walk away with a pair of bracers in the Mando-metal after an honorable duel. With Drow's hit to his right arm, Hort'in would seek to capitalize on any momentary pain by charging forward with his entire body weight to try and bounce Drow back so he could focus on Jago.

"Aargh!" Drow grunted through his teeth as his fist collided with the beskar bracer, backing up in response to pain. How the hell did Hort'in even get one of those? It didn't matter. Drow had fought in many battles, been wounded many times, and had dealt with such pain the same as he ever did. He put it aside and focused on the fight at hand.

As Hort'in charged, the Ishi Tib's combat instincts kicked in and his old drill sergeant's words came ringing through in his head. What do you do when someone bigger charges you, ya stupid Ishi Tib?

Drow answered the long-dead sergeant's ghostly question by immediately sidestepping the charging boar. It only took a couple of quick steps so it was relatively easy to dodge. As Hort'in rushed past him, Drow extended his arm so that the Gamorrean's neck would collide with it. As the boar would collide with the arm, Drow would use the Gammorrean's charging motion to wrap the arm around the pig's neck and jump on Hort'in's back, putting pressure with his arm on the neck to try and get him into a chokehold.

Jago would drop into the Teras Kasi ready stance as the 2 champions stepped forward. He of course heard the droids translation of their opponent's challenge and simply smiled and nodded. Words were not what they had come for and not what the Gamorreans wanted. They wanted honorable combat. It honestly reminded Jago of some Matukai beliefs and practices. Hell he'd even put those practices to use when he'd met his first Jedi.

The thinner Gammorean readied himself and Drow made a quick mention of not getting winded. It only made Jago smile wider as with his training as a Matukai he honestly couldn't remember the last time he'd been winded. "Don't worry we got this." Drow would go in first to the Nautolan's surprise. The Jedi had also mentioned that Jago should take Hort'in's flank. It would make it easier, but Jago understood cultures such as this. They were here to impress the gathered crowd as much defeat their opponents here. He felt the clan would find it dishonorable to not face Hort'in head on. So as Drow went in for the simply combo, Jago would simply follow on Drow's left behind the feints.

Jago's commitment to that side of the fight would prove most fortuitous, as Hort'in had decided to block Drow's right hook with a right of his own, which left Hort'in completely exposed on that side. So as Hort'in right arm came up to block Drow, Jago would launch a kick with his right leg aimed at the right cheek of Hort'in. With committing to the block and then following charge the Gamorrean would be hard pressed to avoid the attack. Hell it would even be the perfect sit up for Drow's chokehold attempt if it landed.

Drast would be strutting behind his team, doing his little dance as he paraded behind them. "Hoo hah, we feel! Hoo hah, real good! Hoo hah, we feel! Hoo hah, real good! Hoo hah, we feel! Hoo hah, real good!" he'd break up the chanting with a series of flips, before he resumed in his dancing.

"Everywhere we go! Everywhere we go! Piggies wanna know! Piggies wanna know! Who we are! Who we are! So we tell them! So we tell them! We are the Pajama Clan! We are the Pajama Clan! The mighty, mighty Pajama Clan! The mighty, mighty Pajama Clan! Ooh ahh, oh yeah! Oooh ahh, oh yeah!" Drastus was just getting started. Wouldn't be long now until he hit Oinkella and the Oinkettes with some real hot fire.

Hort’in was a simple fighter and charging at things with surprisingly quickness for one of his species tended to be enough to actually work even with such a simplistic attack. This time it didn’t because the Jedi was spry – and because the other one had decided that it was better to wait until an opening presented itself. Because of this, Jago’s foot slammed into Hort’in’s face from his right, disorientating him enough that Drow was able to wrap his arm around his neck and climb atop him to attempt to choke him.

Well attempt made it sound like it didn’t work; it did.

Drow’s arm wrapped around his neck and Hort’in started to feel the pressure on his neck but he did not despair. Rather than attempting to break the hold immediately, Hort’in reached round with his right hand to grab Drow’s right leg and pin it to his back under his armpit. Grabbing Drow’s choking arm with his left hand, Hort’in used the best weapon a Gammorrean had in combat and used his mass.

Even as a ‘skinny’ Gammorrean he weighed more than both of his opponent’s put together and he decided he was going to use it to his advantage, locking Drow in place before throwing himself to the ground, back-first. He undoubtedly left himself open to attack from Jago but he was willing to take the punishment to dish it out to Drow, even if there were black spots starting to show up in his vision.

Motivated by Drastus' cheering, Drow felt confident that they could win this one but less good about the whole being squashed under the weight of a Gammorrean thing. Not able to beat Hort'in's sheer strength, Drow could at least minimize it. He continued to keep his pressure on the Gammorrean's throat but used his free hand to yank Hort'in's ear to the left. Wherever one's ear went, the head tended to follow and that combined with Drow grasping the pig's body with his legs and twisting them as hard as he could to the left while Hort'in was in the air was hopefully enough to send the Gammorrean not straight down on his back but, rather, a little to the left. It probably wouldn't be enough to completely flip the pig in the air but it would hopefully prevent Drow from being completely squished.

The Matukai smiled as he felt his kick connect with it's intended target. He rebalanced himself and prepared for to continue the brawl. He saw that Drow was indeed successful but Hort'in was no novice and made to crush the Ishi Tib. Jago moved forward and as Drow and the Gammorean fell he could see the Jedi make a move to at least reduce the damage he was about to take. Instead of going for the opening Jago decided to aid Drow's chokehold.

He reached forward and grabbed Hort'in's waist armor. It took just about all of Jago's strength as he pulled up to hopefully lessen the impact of Hort'in's body slam on Drow. Once the swine hit the ground Jago quick stepped back to avoid any retaliation and readied for the next bit of the fight.

Hort'in would have snorted something in a mixture of rage, frustration and grudging respect for both of his opponents had the action not required the warrior to waste breath. With every passing second he was wasting what air he had managed to keep in his lungs during the fight prior to Drow’s choke. Instead he fell backward, not with quite as much power as he would have liked due to Jago’s interference and not quite straight.

But he would still slam to the ground, catching Drow’s right shoulder and upper arm beneath his shoulders.

The pain would be great but nothing broken or sprained due to the steps both fighters had taken to minimize the impact. Hort'in himself would hit his head and that did nothing to help the rapidly multiplying number of black spots in his vision. With the amount of air still in his lungs diminishing with each moment, Hort'in leaned back to make sure Drow wouldn’t be able to free his right shoulder and arm from his bulk.

Using his left arm, he would lash up at Drow’s face, which was further to the left than his own due to the spin in mid-fall, in an effort to slam his bracer into his face. It was not as strong as it would have been at the start of the fight due to the lower levels of air but it was fuelled but desperation so it was still surprisingly quick and carrying a good amount of power behind it.

Drow continued to put pressure on Hort'in's throat, knowing that the Gammorrean would fade into unconsciousness soon enough. Of course, he'd make sure to take off the pressure once he did - he didn't want to kill the pig after all. However, he didn't have to worry about that at the moment because it seemed like Hort'in wasn't quite out of the fight yet. Sighing, Drow angled his head, steeled himself and tried to minimize the effects of the blow by headbutting the bracer. For a normal humanoid, such a feat might have been devastating but, being an Ishi Tib, Drow had the benefit of having a sturdy beak. It wasn't invulnerable and it would still be painful but Drow hoped that him angling his head so his beak bore the brunt of the blow and the force of his headbutt would mitigate the damage of the blow enough to continue to keep up the pressure on Hort'in's neck.

Damn he underestimated the Gammorrean's ability to continue the fight and he winced a bit at the blow that Drow took. He'd have to put a stop to that and he knew if he could they probably had the fight in the bag. Jago could see Hort'in's eyes start to glaze over a bit and knew if he could just get the Jedi a few more moments Hort'in would be out.

So he decided to take Hort'in's left hand out of the equation. Jago was already on the move when the gauntlet connected with Drow's face. Jago would grab the swine's left wrist with both his hands as he hopped over the grounded combatants. The Nautolan would twist in the air and let himself fall and wrap his legs around Hort'in's lower arm. When Jago completed his fall he'd hope to have Hort'ins left arm locked in an arm bar. Even if Hort'in managed to wriggle enough so that Jago couldn't lock the hold in, it would still occupy the Gammorrean's arm and hopefully prevent further strikes against the Jedi.

Hort’in was surrounded and overwhelmed and everyone knew it, the light was going from his eyes and when Jago grabbed his left arm and pulled it into an armbar it was the end. Everyone knew it, including Hort’in himself who tried to struggle valiantly before the reality of the situation asserted itself and he knew he was done.

Rather than lash out with his right hand, the Gammorean warrior reached up and tapped at the arm Drow had wrapped around his neck.

“The champion Hort’in has tapped out!”
he droid translated, “But can the Jedi and his ally face the might of Groc’kk?”

Groc’kk was a true Gammorean warrior; and they didn’t play using the same metric of ‘fair’ as other did even during ritual combat. The massive warrior had not been idle while the Warriors of Light had been fighting Hort’in – he had snatched up the metal folding chair that the chief sat up and he was swinging it right down at Jago’s grounded form even though he hadn’t broken the armbar yet.

The droid helpfully translated.

“Oh my circuits! How could the Jedi and his friend hope to survive such a vicious chair shot?”

The crowd went wild.
