Turns out the other side of the room didn't give her all that much more signal. "Damn, worth a try." It killed some time though, and soon enough Terra was spotted slipping out into the hallway. Mars followed suit, nodded when she said go keep watch, and waited. It took a bit, but Mars found herself impressed with the Tiefling's solution to the problem

"Niiice," she commented as the door opened up. Her eyes widened in delight when she took in the contents of the room. Score!

Mars hurried in and quietly shut the door behind them. "I'm so glad we didn't have to check the basement." The room was just an office and not the central system, but it was an access point and that's all Mars needed. She immediately got to work connecting her port scanner to the network.

"I do see mentions of the artifact database...still gotta decrypt it though... Oh! Here's the house." Mars tapped a few buttons, then pulled out her NalPhone from her purse when it beeped. A hologram was projected from it, displaying the floorplans for the entire house.

[Terra Lanris]

Terra laughed as Mars mentioned checking the basement. Yeah, me too, she said. That woulda been a whole nother area with guards to get past, he said.

She watched as Mars got to work, getting into the files in no time flat.

Nice work! she said, leaning in closer to take a look at the schematics. This'll be really good, she said, suddenly wondering something.

I know this isn't the plan, but... what if we just grabbed the artifact tonight? she asked. Or is it not here tonight? she asked. Sometimes these people lent them out or they were in areas too secure for the pair to reach.

I guess we're probably not ready for that yet, she muttered.

"Do you think we could?" Mars had not come prepared to try and sneak to and break into a vault. Putting her dress (and heels) aside, all she had on her was her port scanner, vibroknife, and the bits and bobbles in her purse. She chewed on the inside of her lip, debating, but Terra voiced her doubts before long.

"Well, let's...let's see what we're looking at." Mars lifted a hand and pinched the screen of her NalPhone, zooming in on the projected hologram to the basement level. "It looks like the vault is located here." She highlighted it's location underground. "Just a few seconds on the security info...... Okay, and these are the cameras locations." On her okay, every camera in the building was pinpointed on the hologram display.

It was too risky for Mars' comfort. Now that she had access to the system, she would be able to take the downloaded data and use it to formulate an actual plan. Guard routes, resident schedules, camera locations... and once the encryption was broken, who knew what goodies he had filed away? She was just crossing her fingers the vault's passkey was here to find, otherwise they'd have to figure that part out.

"I think... I- I'd be more comfortable if I had time to thumb through this data."

The encryption was still running.

[Terra Lanris]

Terra nodded as she watched the walkthrough of the various security measures, and discussed what they'd be up against. Yes, it wasn't wise. They both seemed to agree, but they were so close. It made her want to just do it and be done, but she wanted to be killed or arrested less.

We wait, then, she said, nodding. Her tail flicked slightly as she said it.

Ready to go? she asked, waiting until the data was downloaded before heading back toward the hall.

You know, we're already in here. What if we just? Eat and drink before we leave? she asked, quirking a mischievous eyebrow. It probably wasn't wise to stick around, but just for a little bit. Besides, it'd be suspicious if they left already, right?

"Alright, all finished!" The data would be uploaded to her device by the time they got out of the building, and uploaded to her remote server in an hour or so. That didn't require any of her babysitting, so Terra's suggestion was met with a shrug and an expression akin to "why not?" "Hey, free food and drinks? I won't pass it up," she chuckled.

Mars strapped the port scanner back to her thigh under her dress, then peeked out into the hallway. "All clear," she noted as she stepped out into the hallway. They'd need to sneak back down into the party first. Assuming the building was somewhat symmetrical, she hoped there was an identical staircase they could take on this side.

Well it was all decided then. All that was left was getting back into a non-conspicuous area. Terra crept down the hall, hoping to find a staircase in the same area on the other side... and finding nothing. She sighed as she looked around, checking other doors but not finding anything.

You're bad luck for getting trapped on upper floors, she said, turning to Mars with a mocking scowl.

She paused and thought for a moment and then scrunched up her face like she was having an idea.

So, we could climb out a window up here and drop into one of the courtyards... not ideal. Or we could try to sneak back across and down the stairs along that ledge... also not ideal. But what if we... just walked down the central stairs into the lobby? They just escorted the people out who were banging up here? No fuss or anything, what if we just said we got lost? she asked. It didn't feel like a great idea, but it might not be terrible either.

Mars rolled her eyes at Terra's comment, but her lips curved up in a smirk as she turned to follow her. At least this time she didn't plan on jumping out any windows. She'd do it in boots, but heels? "Yeah... No windows today," she chuckled.

As for just waltzing their way down the stairs...there was some risk, but it wasn't a bad idea. Considering how the others were handled, Mars figured they were likely to get a pointed looked more than anything. "Let's try it."

Mars led the way, gliding her hand down the stair railing as she descended the central stairs. Most of the party didn't pay them any mind, and the guard droid simply grunted, said something about restricted area, and let them pass. "We were looking for a bathroom, sorry," Mars said in excuse, waving her hand like it was no big deal. Pretty soon she and Terra had rejoined the party, and Mars felt a weight lift from her chest.

"So, what's your drink of choice?" she asked the Tiefling as she headed for the refreshments table. "I'm partial to vodka myself."

There was a spike of huge anticipation as they exited the stairs, and though they received a reprimand and one of the droids went upstairs to start combing through the upper levels.

For her part, Terra followed Mars to the refreshment bar and started looking at what was available.

My preferred drink is a Tiefling trashcan. But I kind of doubt they have what's needed for that, she said, looking around.

But if they don't have that, I'll just have Corellian whiskey, she said. Double livers meant she had a tendency to go for much stronger drinks than most people, and it had eventually given her a taste for those same drinks.

She raised her glass as it was slid across the bar and lifted it to Mars.

To a successful evening, she said, keeping it vague. She downed her drink and helped herself to some food, taking the remainder of the evening to enjoy herself as well.

"A Tiefling trashcan?" That sounded interesting. "They have two livers, right?" Mars figured the drink was probably strong as hell. She'd never had it though. "I've never heard of that. Guess I'll have to try it sometime."

At Terra's toast, Mars lifted her glass and clinked it against hers. "And a bright future."

"Shit, this is good stuff." Rich people and their fancy alcohols... man, she couldn't even hold it against them. She'd buy top shelf if she could. After this heist? Well, maybe she'd splurge on a bottle or two.
