MECHIS III
It was supposed to be a simple journey to Mechis III. Barrington had received a commission to gather some old Droid Blaster Arms and the best place for anything related to Droid's was Mechis III.

Yet literally everything went wrong from the get go. Firstly his ship had a fuel leak, so his T-6 had lost the majority of the fuel Barrington had stocked up on, but that had only been discovered three quarters of the way into the journey. Secondly, just as he entered Mechis III's atmosphere, one of his engines burst into flames, which caused him to lose control his ship and crash into one of the many volcanoes that resided on the planet. Thirdly, he barely had enough time to gather all of his equipment and supplies before his T-6 disintegrated from the lava that had been released from the crash.

The only good thing to come out of this, was that Mechis City happened to be close by, it would only take him two days of walking to get there. But the chances of Barrington getting a new ship within the coming days were very slim. He had to wait it out and hope that someone would come by with one they were willing to part with, even if it was an old ship, Barrington would still buy it. Luckily the chances of him obtaining some Droid Blaster Arms would be quite high. He discovered that several vendors throughout the city sold them as antiques. The only problem though is that they were selling them at price that would be considered to be absurd on most planets.

The worst part of all of this though, is that Barrington had forgotten to stock up on his favourite protein bars just before he left Nal Hutta. He began his journey to Mechis City just before the sun had began to set. He pulled out his high powered flashlight and prayed that nothing would attack him during the night.

The gantry above the foundry swayed in an all-to-menacing manner as I strode across it. Far down below, exactly forty-three metres to be precise, a seething sea of industry churned. Hundreds of droids and a fair few augmented organics carried out their functions in the ordered manner I had come to expect from them. I continued across the gantry, combining my hourly inspection of the foundries work with a visit to the nearby landing ash field, where our observation droids had reported in a recent landing.

The temperature briefly rose, I could see it spike twenty-seven degrees on my visor as I walked down the section of the gantry that passed near the vents that omitted heat from the main cauldrons in which the durasteel this factory was famed for was forged. An increase in temperature was therefore to be expected, and I thought little of it, returning instead to reading the day's output report on my datapad as I progressed to the perimeter of the city….

Technocrat Faustinus was not in a good mood. Anyone could tell that just by look at the manner in which he carried himself. But, to be fair, few people could recall the last time he hadn’t been in a good mood. He had left his foundry a few moments earlier, in what clearly had been a well timed journey from his workshop at the industrial zones heart, through to the perimeter wall of Mechis city.

The cybernetically augmented human walked with a purposeful and calculated gait, a heavy set of armour and a deep black robe lined with silver marking him out, as he stamped toward the newcomer. Around his shoulders buzzed three small surveillance droids, one of which chittered excitedly to him, informing him of the recent crash-landing and any other information it could impart. Behind him walked two large V3-G4 series, nasty looking rifles in their hands as the technocrat drew himself to a stop and put away his datapad.

He spoke.

Well, he screeched a quick burst of what sounded like static at the man, before reaching his left hand - his right occupied by clasping the top of a cane - up to a dial on his chest and twiddling it. As he did so, the static subsided, and the domineering humanoid spoke with a monotone and none-the-less authoritative voice.

“You are unauthorised.” the voice cut across the ashen expanse between them, matter-of-factly. Behind him the vast plumes of industrial smoke rose from the city, the distant rumble of great works underscoring their meeting, as the technocrat scanned the man before him through his visor, reading life signs and anything else he could garner.

After exactly three seconds, he spoke again. “You are unauthorised.” came the voice once more, as if expecting the man to say something.

The droids stood and did nothing, as he stared at the man, logically attempting to understand why he had walked out of the ashen wastes that surrounded the city, alone, and seemingly without an entourage. He instructed the surveillance units to report back their findings from the surrounding area, and scanned through their report.

+++ Recent scans of the area show a ship came down in quadrant sixteen today, it is probable this organic is the only survivor +++ one of the probes reported back in binary, leaving Faust nodding along, as he began to piece together just why this newcomer was here.

The past two days had been some of the most boring days Barrington had ever experienced. He fell over several times, and his trousers were completely wrecked. Thank god he packed a spare set of trousers. He could see the gates to Mechis City and was glad to be done with all of this. The Droid's the stood atop it's walls were ever so slightly terrifying. Luckily for him, getting into the city shouldn't be too hard. Oh, how wrong he was.

“You are unauthorised.”

Barrington looked up from the ground. The thing that spoke certainly wasn't a droid but it most certainly wasn't human. "Yeah, yeah I know. I had to make an emergency landing... and by that I mean my ship crashed into one of the volcanoes over yonder." I pointed towards the direction of where I came from. "You don't happen to have any spare ships I could buy, do you?" I shrug slightly and drop my bag. I pull out my datapad and bring up my digital passport. I showed it to the droid-thing. Hopefully this would be enough to enter the city. He was a tad worried though. So far everything has gone wrong and Barrington has very little hope at this point.
