The Touch of the Vast, Amorris Drive Yard

There is a saying "To step out willingly into the vast endless reaches of space, one must be insane, or the gain must be equally so." Amorris Drive Yard was the land of opportunity for those opportunistic enough and cunning enough to survive in the lawless haven. Kuthez was both cunning and opportunistic, for as much as Amorris was famous for building ships, there was an equal need to break them down. Raw materials were easy to get, but to get materials at the quality needed for shipbuilding there was a market to tap, and wrecks were plenty out in the vastness ready to pull apart for the best of their parts.

The Slussi pushed off from her lock, drifting towards the wreck ahead of her. Shipbreaking was a dangerous task and many a cutter had found their fate out in the cold expanse. Her hands traced along the side of the hull, 'slithering' alongside the hulking mass as she roughed out the size and got a feel for their prize. It would be a good haul, a lot of good tech and material to make quite the profit off of air and fuel. Shipbreaking was not a fast job, it was a methodical and careful profession. All to many rooks had blown themselves and the ship up by blindly cutting through the hull. Kuthez was not that stupid and a wreck like this was far more valuable with patience.

Ten hours later with a nice initial cut Kuthez went back to her lock, and made her way towards one of the stations better bars. The Slussi was a tall and strong example of her species, hooded like a viper and not one to be messed with. The people here knew that well, it took a certain kind of person to be a shipbreaker and Kuthez had demonstrated more than once to an unfortunate tourist that she had thangs. Literally. With a drink in hand and food on the way they found a corner booth and relaxed. Her drink, a little joke between her and the bartender, Touch of vast, a mix of black rum with a type of juice that was also a deep blue, with a sparkled liquor for the stars.

The Amorris Drive Yard looked busy as ever as Wolfe Thawne flew in, landing his U-Wing, the Brazen Coyote, in an open hangar. The mercenary tossed a couple extra credits at a Sullustan mechanic to watch his ship; he held his hand over one of the pistols hanging from his hip as he indicated no funny business. The Drive Yards might be a far cry from the relatively safe streets of Serenno the man was raised on, but he knew better than to take chances in this place. It was a nest of sin, lies, and other assorted debauchery; just the kind of place Wolfe preferred.

Running a hand through his tangled brown hair, the human searched for whatever passed for a bar in this place. At the very least, Wolfe wanted to ensure he wouldn't wake up in an alley missing a few organs. He passed a few joints that looked on the worse side of "less than reputable" before finally settling on one that looked more like a bar and less like a front for some sketchy slaving operation.

The man entered, the automatic door sliding shut behind him as he walked into the dimly lit area. The place wasn't too busy, and he blended in well enough. He wore a blue and black armored vest, grey pants, a utility belt with a pair of pistols hanging from the waist and an ammo strap over one shoulder, and a dark grey jacket with white fur lining around the neck and sleeves on top of it all. The eye patch covering the human's left eye was probably the most striking aspect of his appearance, though most of the people on the station looked a little rough around the edges. Wolfe surveyed the room and the shelf of liquor behind the bar, contemplating what flavor he should use to forget the events of a busy week of hunting.

"So, what's good here?" He asked the bartender in a raised tone, enough that any nearby patrons might offer a suggestion.

The Sluissi was not one to stick her snout into other people's business, but it was hard not to notice this human as he strolled into the bar. She always sat facing the door with her back to the wall, it was harder to get ambushed that way. A slight hiss, not to draw attention or be rude but to taste before taking another ship of the vast

The bartender, however, did have reason to get into others' business, recommending the human an excellent local brew ale, while warning the outsider to keep his steel away if he didn't want trouble. Kuthez watched the human with interest but did not yet have any need to sense closer. So she downs the drink, waves over another and settles into the corner

Wolfe gave the bartender a respectful nod to his request to stay out of trouble, even if he imagined rolling his eyes. The Drive Yards were far from an even slightly reputable place, though the mercenary certainly had no intention of stirring up any trouble that didn't direct itself his way. If he wasn't being paid to care about something, it wasn't his business. He took the suggested ale, sitting down at a small table in between the corner of the room and the bar. He sat facing the door; it was the best way to avoid any literally unforeseen trouble after all. Wolfe quickly downed the ale and requested another as the bartender passed by from delivering another drink the corner booth.

He soon had his second glass of ale in hand, looking around the near vicinity, spying a Sluissi sitting in the corner, eyes to the front of the room like he had himself. Wolfe respected that kind of smarts when he saw it, raising his glass with a slight nod in the serpentine stranger's direction as a small toast. The mercenary wasn't here to make friends; he wouldn't trust anyone in this place anyways; but respect should be given out when its due.

A flick of the tongue this time directed at the mercenary. He had caught her attention, seeing some reason to toast to her. She questioned why and was confused as to why the outsider would consider showing even the slightest attention to the Slussi. Was it because he respected something of her, did he recognise him, she didn't know him.

A dismissive shrug, she was tired, having spent hours in the void and labouring on a ship. Perhaps she was seeing something where there is nothing.
"Just an outsider. Not worth the time" Muttering mostly to herself as she continued to drink and settle into the warmth and music
