DESCRIPTION
The AA-110 is a new design from Botajef Shipywards, and is quite a departure from their usual designs. It is quite long and sleek, unlike many of their other ships, but still shares some of their hallmarks. It has powerful external engines located on the sides of each crafts hull along with serious armor and armaments. It takes inspiration from the Republic's ancient LAAT/I design, giving it the ability to strafe mid air and through the use of the Composite Beam Laser. This works much like being hit by a continuous bolt from a Heavy Laser Cannon, allowing it to cleave through troops, ground vehicles, and capital ship armaments alike.
The AA-110 was given an intraplanetary and extraplanetary versions during production. The two variants look generally the same as eachother, but the extraplanetary variant looks just slightly bulkier while the intraplanetary has more stabilizers and additional thrusters built into its hull. The additional armor on the extraplanetary model is meant to protect it more against anti-fighter weaponry, as it's primary role is to attack weapon systems on sub-capital ships to capital ships. The intraplanetary variant, on the other hand, is designed mostly to deal with ground based targets including light walkers, light tanks, and especially infantry. The additional thrusters and stabilizers were added for a "strafing" function, so the craft can track a target in any direction it moves without having to make wide turns as it would have using its ion engines. This crafts main weakness is it is designed to combat either large ground forces or larger capital ships, so it is quite vulnerable to fighters. Additional tests into combining the two variants have been conducted by Botajef engineers, to add the manuverability of the intraplanetary version and the armor of the extraplanetary version. Such tests so far have proven... less than ideal... but currently they are still ongoing.
LEGALITY
AA-110 are built specifically for the FWA, so unless they are stolen other Factions can not use them. The AA-110 gunships are also military craft, with military-grade weapons and construction, and enough firepower to decimate whole squads of infantry and even heavy vehicles. In PvP, this ship can only be used against other ships or vehicles; it is to be treated as a starfighter, and is bound by same restrictions starfighters are.INTENT
The AA-110 Is designed to be an updated LAAT/I, with the carrying capacity cut for a focus on a gunshipfor the FWA. They are also designed to combat larger craft as opposed to similarly sized ships.RESTRICTIONS
